Amazing afternoon, learned so much and delicious food!
Mar 2020
We had already done the Cultural Walking Tour (also very recommended) and because this tour was so much fun and interesting we decided to join the food tour also (because it was the second tour we also got 10% discount). We weren't let down, it was a great experience and we learned so much about the Japanese cuisine and tried a lot of new things. Walking through Zion with Michi was so much fun, she was very flexible and pointed us things that we were never to find ourselves. We were very lucky to have some extra time in Kyoto and to join this food tour. It was truly great and I can really recommend this tour!!

Amazing day- great tour and guide
Jan 2020 • Family
First of all my mom and I are very grateful to have had Naomi as our guide. She was very sweet and considerate of our walking pace and our interests. She was very open and enthusiastic when talking about her own life in Japan and gave us a unique opportunity to understand what it can be like to live in Japan. This tour had great timing. It covered a ton of very interesting landmarks all while eating the best food. It also left a lot of time after to explore the area further.

Fantastic, friendly guide Flexible tour!
Feb 2020
We had a great time on this tour of the Nishiki Market and Gion. Timing seemed very flexible and our guide, Kiyomi, answered our many questions and tailored the tour according to our interests (we ended up being the only people on the tour!). Her English was great and she made the tour fantastic! She even sent emails afterwards with follow-up recommendations. We had no issue finding her at the meeting spot and tried lots of different foods in the Nishiki market. All around great experience!

Great walking food and cultural tour
Nov 2019
We had a great tour with Hideko last November. It was very informative and we learned a lot about Japanese food as well as the difference between a shrine and a temple and the proper way to pray. We also had quite a bit to eat along the way. It was a fun learning experience and Hideko was a wonderful guide. She even took some photos of us and emailed them to us after the tour which made for some nice mementos.

We greatly enjoyed our tour with Miki, a delightful and thoughtful host who warmly shared her knowledge of Kyoto’s amazing food culture. Her English is excellent and she answered all our many questions with patience and good humour. Many different food stops to enjoy.
She made sure we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Experience!
Jan 2020 • Couples
We had a wonderful experience with our guides at the Nishiki Market in Kyoto. Our tour guides were kind, knowledgeable, and more than willing to accommodate any requests we had. They were also able to answer all questions about the market and city in general. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto!

We had two days in Kyoto, this tour is worth it!!
Jan 2020 • Friends
We had two days in Kyoto, and I am so glad we decided to book this tour! It was worth every penny. We tasted delicious food while learning a ton about the market and Kyoto’s local delicacies. After we were thoroughly stuffed, Yuri guided us through the Nishiki Shrine and the nearby Geisha districts. It was an entertaining and jammed-packed tour. Besides the tasty sesame crackers and truly unforgettable pork buns at Kyoto Diamaru (a bonus snack our guide pointed out), Yuri was the best part of the tour. She was friendly, energetic, and well-informed. One of my favorite parts of any local tour is getting to ask a guide about local culture and her everyday life—Yuri was kind enough to answer all our food and non-food related questions.

The long of the short—I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful time with Natsu! It was so much fun walking and talking with her, she explained a lot and answered all our curious questions about Japan and the food traditions. The food we tried was DELICIOUS from the first to the last bite :) Thank you again for this unforgettable experience!
