      Worth an early start
The tour was perfectly paced. We were able to see every part of Kyoto that we had hoped to see. Our guide Satomi was a cheerful and knowledgeable guide - we really enjoyed her company! It is really worth getting up early to miss the crowds.

Satomi-San aka best tour guide in Japan!
This tour was a great glimpse of Kyoto we visited several temples and shrines without the hassle of the crowds. It made me wish our group was staying for more time! Going early in the morning was 100% worth it! Satomi-San made our tour 100000x more enjoyable she was patient, kind, accommodating and had great recommendations. As someone who grew up in Kyoto she has tons of knowledge and unique insights. Do yourself a favor and book this tour!

      Excellent
It has been a excellent and productive day and it’s all thanks to Tomoko who accompanied me from Kyoto station to Nara where I visited the amazing 8 th capital which was wonderful than to temple and shrines and thanks to Tomoko again who took time out to accompany to inari shrines which was mesmerising. Tomoko is very knowledgeable and at every point she explained about the Japanese culture and deity’s and their significance. A great learning experience I must say. I highly recommend Tomoko for this tours and definitely I’m coming back. Thanks Arigato gozaimashita

      Comprehensive Tour
Kyoto has a lot of attractions (thousands of temples and hundreds of shrines) so you are faced with the problem of what to visit if you have limited time. It was great to see a one-day tour which would visit our musts in our Kyoto list: Fushimi Inari, the Golden Pavilion, Arashiyama bamboo grove, Ryoan Ji and Gion. We had a fantastic licensed guide, Noriko, who provided the needed context to the sites we visited. Her pacing was perfect. We covered all the stops in the itinerary and had fun experiencing public transportation (combination of subways, trams and taxi) in Kyoto. We would have wasted a lot of time going on our own and missed learning the interesting histories and backgrounds of the sites we visited. Thank you Noriko for an enjoyable and thorough tour!

      Great day and great tour
This tour was amazing. Tomoko was very knowledgeable of Japanese history and she was very accommodating to my husband who has a bad knee. I guess our favorite part of the day was the Todai.Ji temple and all the deer. We also loved walking through the old town and learning more about the traditional architecture.

What a magnificent tour of an incredible city. Kyoto culture at its finest!
Going through Kyoto on a private tour with Yuka was absolutely perfect. Yuka was incredibly knowledgeable, and had mapped out an incredible tour for us. She was also very friendly, and concerned for our welfare since we did a lot of walking. Kyoto is a magnificent city, full of culture and history, and with Yuka guiding our tour, we learned much more that we ever could have on our own. Thank you for everything Yuka!!

      Kyoto day tour
Satomi was a wonderful tour guide and took us to all the best places around Kyoto. We learnt so much more about the history of Kyoto and its’ structures rather than had we done this on our own. The tour was excellent and we had plenty of time to see everything as well as stop anywhere along the way. Definitely recommend :)

Unearthing Kyoto's Charms: The Early Riser Platinum One-Day Tour with Taki
Embarking on the Kyoto Early Riser Platinum One-Day Tour with Taki enabled us to unveil the hidden marvels of Kyoto, even though the surprise use of public transportation initially caught us off guard. Regrettably, we had overlooked the importance of notifying the tour organizers about my wheelchair-dependent condition beforehand. Nevertheless, Taki's warm and caring personality, although momentarily thrown off balance, remained steady throughout the day. Taki's potential as a remarkable guide shone through, as they adeptly adapted to the situation and added the delightful surprise of visiting an artist specializing in fruit sculptures. In this review, I will delve into the highlights of our captivating journey and emphasize Taki's progress in crafting their own unique storytelling style while exploring the history of the places we visited. Resilience and Thoughtful Adaptability: Despite the unexpected reliance on public transportation, Taki showcased inspiring resilience and thoughtful adaptability when faced with the challenge at hand. While our failure to provide prior notice of my mobility requirements was unfortunate, Taki's unwavering warmth and caring demeanor brought solace in the face of this oversight. Their quick recovery and dedication to ensuring our comfort created an atmosphere of reassurance, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the wonders of Kyoto. Promising Narration and Historical Revelations: Taki's potential as a knowledgeable guide was evident throughout the tour, even as they continued to refine their storytelling capabilities. While navigating the intricacies of public transportation, Taki effectively conveyed the historical significance of the places we visited. As they further develop their own unique storytelling style, Taki has the potential to enhance their narratives, adding a personal touch that will captivate future travelers. Their passion for Kyoto's history remained palpable, igniting our own curiosity and deepening our understanding of the city's profound heritage. Unexpected Delights and Cultural Immersion: One of the tour's highlights was the delightful surprise addition of a visit to an artist specializing in fruit sculptures—an outstanding stop that left a lasting impression. Taki's adaptability and flexibility proved invaluable, allowing us to experience this unique artistic endeavor firsthand. This unexpected detour not only showcased the richness of Kyoto's cultural tapestry but also emphasized Taki's resourcefulness in enhancing the tour's diversity of experiences. Such encounters fostered a deeper connection to the local community and added an element of excitement and discovery to our journey. Conclusion: In reflection, the Kyoto Early Riser Platinum One-Day Tour with Taki promised a rewarding expedition through Kyoto's captivating landscapes. While the utilization of public transportation caught us by surprise, Taki's resilience and genuine care played an instrumental role in maintaining our comfort and enjoyment throughout the day. As Taki continues to grow as a guide, their ability to weave their own compelling stories into the historical tapestry of the places visited will undoubtedly bring an added layer of depth to future tours. Furthermore, the unexpected stop to admire the unique fruit sculptures underscored Taki's adeptness at adapting and adding surprising elements to the itinerary. Despite any initial challenges, this tour with Taki will provide a memorable and immersive journey through Kyoto's cultural wonders, leaving visitors with a profound appreciation for the city's beauty and Taki's significant potential as a guide.

      Great tour!
We had Chie as our tour guide. She was great, a wealth of knowledge and enhanced the experience at each site. She was also amazing at helping us to navigate the different public transport aspects to get to each place efficiently. Starting early also seemed to avoid alot of the crowd though places were still quite busy. Thanks again Chie!

We took this morning tour and returned in time to catch our 2:08pm bullet train back to Tokyo that afternoon. It was fast paced in sweltering heat/humidity and I don’t think we could have done this in the amount of time allocated without a guide because of logistics. It was just my husband and I, so it ended up being like a private tour. I do think it would be hard to do this in a group of 8 because of the pace, individual physicality and the amount of walking in hot weather conditions. We logged over 15,000 steps that day and I found myself taking pictures on the fly as there wasn’t time to stop and enjoy the moments. My husband, who is in amazing shape, was smiling and shaking his head as we inhaled a matcha ice cream cone running to catch the next train! Great kudos to our 77 y/o guide who pushed us that day! Sumiko is special and we enjoyed our time with her. She even took pics and sent them to us. Do this tour only if you are able to walk at a fast pace for at least 7 miles and are already familiar with train stations. Take water & wear good walking shoes. There were two times I stopped to rest while my husband and Sumiko forged on, picking me up in their way back. The three sites were exactly the ones I wanted to see, but I think only doing two would have allowed for a more meaningful time at each place, including time for the guide to share more information, adequately pray and just appreciate where we were. If you’re not sure of taking this tour, two of the sites are accessible by taking the Kyoto hop on/off bus, but the golden temple isn’t. You should have a JR pass and will need to pay for a local bus to get to the golden temple. The golden temple is worth the effort to see it.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. Such a fast pace without having time to take proper pictures and enjoy the moment is not exactly the kind of tour we strive to offer. The guides definitely feel the pressure to cover all the sites of the tour in the time allocated, but usually they can find a way to balance the schedule with a relaxed visit to each site. Of course this summer's incredible heat doesn't help either when having to walk quite a lot. We will look into ways to make sure that our travelers not only visit the sites but also have the time to enjoy them and take in their atmosphere as well. Thanks again for your valuable feedback!

What a great tour! We were lucky to get Kaz who was so good at what he does. It was well worth starting at 7am and we managed to avoid the crowds for most of the day. Kaz's knowledge of Kyoto was really good and Kaz was really thoughtful in taking our needs into account. We managed to do everything we wanted to do.

Tohru was an incredible tour guide who took us through all three sites and gave us ample opportunity to soak in the atmosphere of the locations and was always willing and eager to answer any questions we had. We had so much fun on this tour and would recommend it to anyone looking to explore some of the best sites of Kyoto. Tohru was also kind enough to offer us some local ramen recommendations close to Kyoto station and I had the best pork ramen of my life on the back of that really thrilled with this tour.

Keiko was our guide and she was amazing - wonderful knowledge, helpful on public transport, excellent photo taker! We were so happy to have her help guiding us on the public transport system, showing us great areas to take photos, giving us dinner recommendations. I’d recommend this tour and Keiko to everyone.

You won’t get to see the full Fushimi Inari shrine tour on this - it would take an estimated 3 extra hours to climb and go down the mountain. But you’ll see the highlights :)

You are right, it takes too long to climb up to the top of Fushimi Inari Shrine, but we hope you got some nice pictures with all the orange torii gates! My sister and I had a wonderful experience on our tour with our tour guide, Aramaki-san! Mr. Aramaki is so knowledgeable about Kyoto and shared a lot of insights into Japanese culture that we wouldn't have learned otherwise. We traveled to Fushimi Inari-Taisha, Kinkaku-ji, and Arashiyama, and were able to spend a significant amount of time at each site so we didn't feel rushed. Mr. Aramaki treated us with great hospitality and we felt well taken care of during our tour. I would also recommend the Early Bird tour because whenever we left each site, then there was a much larger influx of tourists and each site became much more crowded!

Our party of 7 enjoyed a private tour with Noriko. She was very friendly and pleasant. We communicated well in English from pre-tour until end of tour. The information she shared about the history and culture in beautiful Kyoto was helpful to understand and appreciate the people. Starting our tour early at 8am helped to beat the crowd and the summer heat. Highly recommend this tour, if you have limited time to spend in Kyoto.

Me and my husband had a really great time exploring Kyoto. Definitely recommend the early bird timing to beat the crowds. Keiko was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of Kyoto and Japan’s history in general. She is also super friendly, energetic, and flexible to adjust to our needs. Although we have been to Japan several times, this was the first time we felt that we really learned more about Japanese culture, particularly about how modern traditions in temples and shrines. 100% recommend

We had a fabulous tour with our guide Chuji, who took us to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Bamboo Forest and Arashiyama and Togetsu Bridge. I loved that transport used local buses and JR trains which was definitely made easier having Chuji to guide us. He imported lots of local knowledge at all of the locations as well as general Japanese knowledge and was a joy to be with during the tour.

We had an amazing family experience on the Kyoto Early Bird tour! We were very fortunate to have Naoko as our guide for the day, she was extremely kind and knowledgable and spoke excellent English. She was very good with our two children and took some great photos of our family. The tour was 5 hours which was the perfect amount of time and starting early meant we beat some of be crowds and had the afternoon to further enjoy Kyoto. We highly recommend this tour and thank you so much Naoko!
