About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- R5110ZVashleyh0 contributionsGreat tour and guideKahori-san is the best. If we had done the trip on our own we would have missed so much of what she was able to show us and share with us. Plus, she was the sweetest with my two daughters - it was like taking a family trip with a favorite auntie.Written 19 February 2025
- kushalinip0 contributionsTokyo 6 hour private tour- with SeijiWe spent the day with Seiji on the Tokyo day tour, he was the most amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and very accommodating to the needs of our group, being our parent were older. He covered key landmarks and really helped us explore Tokyo and also guided us with advice on things we will do on other days. His recommendation on the subway tickets were cost effective and made seeing so many places, easy to navigate. We highly recommend this tour to those visiting Tokyo ! Thank you so much Seiji, you made today so memorable for our family.Written 18 February 2025
- michaelbL6292YK0 contributionsExcellent day tour of Tokyo with SammyThe morning after arriving in Tokyo we met up with Sammy for a day-long walking/subway tour of the city's many wonderful attractions. We had been in contact with Sammy ahead of time and were able to personalize the itinerary. We visited several shrine, temples, parks, museums and other places in Asakusa, Ueno, Shinjuku and around Tokyo Station. Sammy is a very skilled guide. He speaks English quite well and was able to clearly explain what we were seeing and to give historical and cultural context that made the excursion meaningful and fun. He gave us a good orientation and whetted our appetites for further exploration in the weeks ahead. Highly recommended.Written 18 February 2025

- Journey5569950 contributions"Royal Heritage Park in Nikko: Yoshii Kenichi"Royal Heritage Park in Nikko: Yoshii Kenichi Yesterday, my partner and I did something we normally don't do: we hired a guide for the day to give us additional or an inside eduction on the Royal Heritage Park here in Nikko. We have been staying at the Nikko Kanaya Hotel, a historical property which I reviewed earlier. So we were very near the National Park. We hired Yoshii Kenichi as our guide. He was quite splendid. We started the journey at our hotel, with a brief history of Japan, and what led to the founding of the temples and shrines we were about to visit. I move rather slowly at times due to an old sports injury, but Yoshii was quite attentive going up steep hills and steps. He answered every question we asked, right down to the names of trees that play such a glorious part of the magnificent landscape. Yoshii was exceedingly knowledgeable, but never didactic or overbearing. And when sometimes I could not climb the many steps to several of the sites, he either described the temple or shrine or showed us pictures. He was very prepared with pictures and documents. At the end, he even gave us several of these materials. His English was quite good, whereas my Japanese needs a great deal of improvement, as in I do not speak a word of Japanese. When I asked him to repeat something, he never hesitated. He is highly educated, and yet in no way anything other than modest and direct. He treated us with a great deal of respect, and we were very grateful for his expertise and kindness. I highly recommend Yoshii Kenichi to you. You will not be disappointed. - WildHorn0 contributionsGreat tour with KojiWe had a great tour of the east side of Tokyo with Koji. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and has a good sense of humor. We are fast walkers and Koji kept up a fast pace, so we covered a lot of ground. His knowledge of the history of various sights was very helpful to understanding their significance. Overall a great tour with a great guide!Written 18 February 2025
- 821maiv0 contributionsWear comfortable shoesWhat a great experience to have with someone who is familiar with tokyo on foot. My tour guide show was great! He was thorough with the history. I wished we had more time, but it was so busy at the train station we made it work. I definitely recommend him. Very accommodating. Also, he takes great pictures. That's kudos for solo traveler.Written 18 February 2025
- W7100PRluciek0 contributionsPerfect first day!I took the six hour trip with Bruce on my first day in Tokyo. I had done little research prior to my arrival and Bruce answered every one of my 500 questions! He was extremely knowledgable on the history of Japan, the culture, neighborhood - every question I asked, he had a robust answer! He helped me understand the local customs and navigating the train system, as well as being an excellent photographer. We traveled across the city, exploring many neighborhoods and landmarks, as well as enjoyed a wonderful lunch. I’d highly recommend this to any visitor, regardless of your knowledge, as I’m sure Bruce will provide you with extra insights!Written 17 February 2025

- Trip292234347500 contributionsHeavenly Hakone with an angelic guideFor those not wanting to read my entire post, let me say if you are going to Hakone, consider hiring Shinji. He is marvelous! We went to Hakone, a notable spa town and a popular tourist destination due to its many hot springs being within view of nearby Mount Fuji, the most visited mountain in Japan. With our guide Shinji we visited the Hakone open air Museum, Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashi, Hakone, Japan, and took the Lake Ashi Cruise. Shinji’s knowledge about the sites, trains, cable cars, cruise, history, culture and languages (Japanese and English) made for a most efficient and memorable experience. Lastly, Shinji was very patient, as our getting to Hakone took more time than we expected, and adaptable, as we made the necessary adjustments to visit every relevant site we had hoped for. Great trip with a great guide!Written 17 February 2025
- Ken802060 contributionsMagic in KamakuraExcellent educational and stunning temple and shrine tour led by Atsuko (An). Kamakura is a bit of a magical seaside locale. An provided excellent perspectives on how its religious and historical origins influence Japanese living to this day. Also, the local shirasu sushi and salads are truly outstanding delicacies. Highly recommend this day tour from Tokyo!Written 17 February 2025

- M660JMchandras0 contributionsGreat tour with Bruce!Spent half day on a walking tour with Bruce. He was fantastic. He brainstormed with me about the places I wanted to see before we got started and he kept us on schedule to ensure we did it all. Very knowledgeable on the history at each stop and explained many traditions along the way. Bruce speaks very good English. Highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your stay to get acquainted with Tokyo.Written 17 February 2025

This was perhaps the best trip we did in Japan!
The park is incredibly large and beautiful with all of its temple buildings and shrines! And of course, the ever-present deer made it all even more magical.
The real highlight of the tour, however, was our guide Junichi! He’s a really enthusiastic and knowledgeable person. We definitely learned a lot with him and couldn’t be happier with this experience!

Thank you so much for your great review! I am very happy all of you enjoyed everything you met in the Deer Park and in the shrines and temples therein. Your questions showed me you were really enjoying and interested. Thank you again for coming to Nara, which is not a small Kyoto but a unique place. I hope your daughter and son will manage to be back in Nara in the near future as they promised me.
