We had an absolutely fantastic tour of Kyoto with Javier! He is very personable, knowledgeable, and excited to show us his city! This was our first time to Kyoto, and we were able to visit several highlights of the city in one day, including the Thousand Torii gates (Fushimi-inari shrine), the Silver Pavillion, and the Gion District. A walking tour with Javier is 100% the best way to see Kyoto. The trip is so much more personal, he shows you little secrets you'd never know were there, and he makes the tours feel like its being led by a friend. Cannot recommend enough!

Javier was a wonderful guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the city and all the sites. He took us to several prominent places, but also to lesser known and often missed sites. The tours are still going on even with Covid 19 and are done in a very safe way.

This tour allowed us to see old Kyoto in a way that would be missed if you were just driving around or trying to see the sights on your own. Without Javier's knowledge of both Japanese and the culture, so much would be missed.

I would use his services again any time I'm in Kyoto.

Unfortunately due to the awful pandemic our trip to Japan was cancelled. Although we weren’t able to take the tour I have nothing but positive comments to make about this company.
There many responses to our questions were fast and so very helpful. I was able to talk with the specific guide who helped realistic organize what we could cover in the day.
When our cruise was cancelled and notified them they acknowledged within 12 hours(time difference). Within in 2 days we had our refund.
We will definitely rebook our tour with Kyoto daily tours as soon as we are able to safely go to Japan. Stay safe

The highlight of my tour was spending the full day with my taxi driver and new friend Hiro Nakajima. Hiro spoke excellent English and we had no problem communicating. He picked me up from the platform of the bullet train at Kyoto station and our tour started. Since I was traveling solo and wanted to see as much of Kyoto as possible Hiro took it as a challenge to show me as many of the World Heritage Sites as possible. We ended up visiting 16 out of the 17 UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto! We visited Toji temple, Nishi Hongwanji temple, Nijo Castle, Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji temple), Ryoanji temple, Ninnaji temple, Kozanji temple, Tenryuji temple, Moss temple (Kokedera), Ujinokami shrine, Byodoin temple, Daigoji temple, Kiyomizu temple, Silver Pavilion (Ginkakuji temple), Kamigamo shrine, Shimogamo shrine. This tour was very fast and furious. As we drove to the next location we talked about the history of the upcoming site and Hiro suggested which sites are worth seeing (paying admission) and which are not. Since Hiro lives in Kyoto he knows the good restaurants in the area, we stopped for Tempura. The restaurant was spotless and the food quality was exceptional. At the end of the tour Hiro escorted me back to Kyoto train station. For an individual traveler who speaks no Japanese, being picked up and dropped off at the train station was a relief. I would highly recommend a private taxi tour of Kyoto especially with someone as knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous as Hiro. I will definitely be in touch with him the next time I travel to Kyoto.

We were picked up by our guide Hiro (who was a taxi driver) on time after a few email discussions about what we wanted to see in Kyoto. He was brilliant right from the start. We have a 9yr old disabled daughter and nothing was too much trouble for him.

We started with a tour of the outskirts of Nijo castle, then on to the Imperial Palace gardens which were magnificent. He parked right outside, which made the transfer very easy. Our next stop was the original Ogawa Coffee shop to have coffee where locals drink coffee. Wonderful! On to the Golden Pavilion which took our breath away, it was so beautiful. Then a lunch stop at the Hirosawa Pond after picking up picnic supplies from 7 eleven.

Next was the bamboo forest which was so much better than the photos. On to the Otabe sweet shop to sample and buy Japanese sweets for gifts and then the Fushimi Shrine in Hatanaka which was also unbelievably stunning. Hiro was very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and helpful. I think he enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed his. We would highly recommend the full day tour in Kyoto and especially our guide.

He dropped us with our bags (which were in his trunk) at our Ryokan in Hatanaka when we were finished.

The total tour duration was 8 hrs and we loved every minute of it.

Great visit to Fushimi Inari and Nara with Javier. He gave us a lot of information and tips about the Japanese culture and customs. We went with our four children and they all enjoyed the visit very much. Nice, polite and patient, we clearly recommend Javier for a visit to Kyoto downtown or its surroundings.

This is my personally second time to Kyoto and first time for 3 members of my family and I was the one who initiated the trip. Being a private tour guide myself in Hong Kong of course I know what to expect but everything I have arranged for my family was a first time for them. Hiro san arrived at our hotel on time then we hopped into his taxi, we seriously had no idea which direction to go but left it all for Hiro to arrange for us. We end up visiting 12 of 17 world heritage sites, our day was so packed that we actually didn't spent much time admiring them, but it was perfect and I already knew that too much temples will really get us bored. I was travelling with my 86 year old grandmother and my mother also had bad knees so I knew we must need a car for this tour. Hiro san also knew about which roads were able to drive into to save us all the unnecessary walking, loved the trick at Kiyomizu temple, was well worth the drive. We sat down for a light lunch at a local cafe just what we expected and very tasty. I cannot recommend more of Hiro san on his services, he even let us to go to his friend's traditional cookie and cake shop to let us sit down and try some samples with some tea. We asked Hiro san to drop us off at the centre of Kyoto for us to wonder for the rest of the evening before heading back to the hotel. One funny thing happened was that we hailed a taxi by the end of the evening and actually got on the exact same taxi to drive us back, but of course with a different driver after Hiro san had a long full day with us. Overall very similar to my work in Hong Kong day in day out but was very interesting experiencing all in a different city with different sites and cultures. Thank you Hiro and hope we can meet up again soon.
