        A Very Hands-on Archery Experience!
This was definitely a unique experience and very fun! Definitely a "learn by doing" approach! The teacher, Yamaguchi-sensei, doesn't speak much English, but nevertheless did a great job in guiding me through my kyudo experience. And when he did need to communicate with words, his student and assistant was available to translate. If you're looking for something very hands-on and a little off the beaten path, then this would probably be a great experience for you!

        Excellent Experience
It was great! The instructor was clear and professional and his assistant was able to speak excellent English to make it easier for those who don’t speak Japanese. Both were very encouraging and helpful. Super cool experience and highly recommend!

        Cool archery experience 😎
Awesome experience to try some traditional archery, the teacher was very instructive and helped with each shot. We also had the opportunity to learn the history of Kyudo, the pupil of the teacher was translating into English and was also very knowledgeable herself

        Awesome experience!
I highly recommend this experience. The instructor and translator are great teachers. There are a lot of steps for Kyudo, but they help you learn them all within an hour. This isn’t the typical tourist attraction; your group will be alone in a quaint indoor range. It’s a really fun time, especially with a small group!

        Great Tour. Ayato was Amazing
Our guide, Ayato was great. He has excellent knowledge of the Hida region. We learned about rice production and saw the beautiful Hida countryside. Ayato took our photos, made us a local herbal tea and gave us great recommendations for local places to eat. He went over and above what any other guide has ever done for us! We would highly recommend doing this tour!

        Authentic Kyudo experience
A great experience with a Level 10 Kyudo Master. Warm and friendly. Very knowledgeable and talented and happy to share his wisdom and love for Kyudo. Also present was one of his current students who supported the translation which was very helpful. A small group of 4 of us made for a special experience.

        One of a kind experience
Very cool activity. Think of it as a cultural experience, in the 1 hour 3 of us shot 3 times each (6 arrows total per person)

Kyudo lesson that’s good for solo travelers
This Kyudo lesson was pretty cool. The sensei and his students show you a book and paper that describes the correct form when aiming and firing the arrow. There’s an entire rhythm to it, and they’ll guide you through the order of motions every time you attempt a shot. You’ll get at least 3 tries, and each time you can choose a different sized bow. The entrance is also in the back along the smaller side road.

        Kyudo Learning
Sensei Yamaguchi was great. His knowledge of the sport and demonstration were great. He helped me quite a bit getting into the form and the correct movements. His student, assistant, and translator was great also. Naia ? Also shot showing the correct form and steps. Very satisfying.

Great way to experience some hands on Japanese culture! Kyudo!
Really fun! The instructor doesn't speak much English, but that was ok because he had English print outs and hand-over-jand guides you through the movements. It was really a unique experience that we thoroughly enjoyed! It was about an hour long, and with 3 participants in our class, we each had a turn to launch an arrow about 4 times. I watched as the others took their turns, which helped me prepare for mine. It was special to feel Japanese culture with hands on experience like this. If you like cultural exposure and you're ok with little English (which adds to the atmosphere in my opinion), you should give this a try! Book well in advance!
