Nice tour around Nagano
Dec 2019 • Family
Booked the tour for the 4 of us and choose the extra larger van (10.000 JPY supplement), which gave us enough space to fit in especially with large winter clothes. You also get a driver for the van and the tour guide does not need to drive you around by herself.
The start was a bit bumpy. First, despite asking for a hotel pickup (not the usual train entrance pickup) which was confirmed by the agency, the driver and guide waited at the train station...After 15 min I needed to call the agency to ask where our cars was. They showed up a few minutes later and apologized. Showed us the tour plan from the agency which mentioned a pickup at the train station. That made clear where some improvements should be made. Second, despite asking the van weeks before the trip, the driver arrived with an empty fuel tank...so we needed to stop at a gas station before heading to the snow monkey park.
Tour guide and driver made big efforts to make our tour as comfortable as possible. The guide was rather conservation on the talk, answering all questions rather than overloading us with information we would not be able to keep. She spoke very good English (lived some time in NZ).
The positive end was both finishing the tour 45 min late to let us see everything at the speed we wanted to and also to make up for the bumpy start! That was extremely nice of them (no extra charge).
Well, that way we keep the tour in our memory for sure.

Snow Monkey Resort, Toddler-Style
We had a wonderful day with Fan as our guide. She was so warm and knowledgeable, and really catered to our three year old son, who has been talking about snow monkeys for months. The weather was very snowy, and Fan was an expert navigator and driver. The monkey park was a great experience - there was a 30 minute hike to the actual park, so good shoes and very warm clothing (I recommend ski gear!) was needed. It was crowded but not overwhelming. Fan was great about offering to take family photos of the three of us, something that doesn’t often happen!

Following the monkey park, Fan drove us to Obuse for a delicious lunch and tour through town, including a sake tasting, chestnut cake tasting, a visit to a traditional paper store and deli. It was perfectly catered to our needs and the needs of an occasionally cranky toddler. We didn’t end up making it up the temple because of timing, but that was our call.

We can’t wait to return to the Nagano area and plan on requesting Fan for our next tour. We also must commend the tour company for great communication and flexibility with our reservation. Thank you!

Great trip to Nagano
We had a great day in Nagano. Our guide, Weiwei, was really friendly and helpful and she is quite fluent in English. The tour itself was well planned. We didn’t feel rushed at any time at all but got to see everything we wanted to see. Joining a private tour like this is best for people who don’t drive on vacations (like us). Bottom line: my friends and I had a wonderful experience that day and would recommend this tour to others without any hesitation.

Japan Awaits cycling tour to the snow monkey forest and the town of Obuse
Jun 2019 • Friends
This one-day cycling tour with Ilhom was great. He has excellent English and Japanese language skills and is a really friendly and polite guy who everyone seems to like. He has good local knowledge of the local cycle paths and roads and took us on a really scenic route through the apple/cherry/chestnut orchards with very little traffic. A terrific day on the bikes stopping to walk up to see the monkeys but also to pick cherries, eat a local lunch, and visit a sake distillery, a cidery and a chestnut cake bakery. We had beautiful weather and it was a perfect way to spend a day in Nagano.

A great day in Nagano
May 2019 • Couples
My wife and I had a wonderful day touring Nagano. Our guide, Ilhom Toshboev, was extremely knowledgeable about the sights we visited and was a pleasure to be around. Ilhom took us to some great food and sake places and we just had a great time getting to know him and enjoying this beautiful area. Would highly recommend Ilhom and Japan Awaits.

Nagano adventure
Apr 2019 • Couples
We had the best few days in Nagano with ilhom Toshboev showing us around. Ilhom showed us things that we asked. Nothing appeared to be any trouble. He noticed that I loved taking photos so he was patient and took us to a couple great photographic sights for me to photograph. Ilhom took us to a great place for lunch. He also spoke very good English. Nagano was a lovely country feeling place. Easy to get around. Could have stayed a lot longer. Highly recommend Ilhom Toshboev to show you around the area.

Best Day in Japan
Oct 2018 • Couples
This was the best day we had in Japan, it had everything we were looking for in a tour. We had a wonderful tour guide Ryoko who was extremely knowledgeable and really made the experience special for us by being to answer our questions, take photos for us etc. We had an early start taking the Shinkansen to Nagano from Tokyo which in itself was a wonderful experience. We followed this with a bus and a short hike to the Monkey Park. The monkeys were delightful and there were some excellent photo opportunities. We followed this with a visit to Zenkoji where we visited a Shinto Shrine. Ryoko gave us all of the history of the place and we even got a chance to walk through this dark passage at the back of the shrine to be "re-born again". The thing I enjoyed about the day the most was it was very unhurried, there was plenty of time to eat, drink, take photos and just generally enjoy the day.

Highlight of Our Japan Visit
Dec 2018 • Couples
So Spectacular! Our guide, Ilhom took my husband and I on a private tour to see the snow monkeys. I was so surprised to find that the baby monkeys would run around our feet and the adults would pose for us to take cute family pictures. Our guide also took us to see Zenkoji Temple. We soaked our feet in a hot spring and even went to sake tasting. It was a lovely day and the highlight of our Japan trip.

Such a good tour!
Nov 2018 • Couples
My husband and me were on this tour with our guide, Ms Weiwei and the experience was very positive.

We were very pleased with the tour's schedule, greeting, given information about monkeys (even that unfortunately they decided not to appear this day) & Nagano area and Obuse's highlights. Ms. Weiwei knows the area very well and told us many interesting facts about it.

The lunch in the place, that she recommended, was very tasty, and the place has many options to eat.
She also was able to organise a sake tasting experience for us in Obuse, in addition.

It was wonderful day! Thank you very much again, Ms Weiwei!
