Response from planning920, Manager at Japanese sweets making and Tea Ceremony in Osaka MAIKOYA
Responded 6 Aug 2019
Thank you for joining us. This is just to kindly let you know: 1- In Japan people don't wear long sleeve-kimono when making sweets. What you are asking for; you'd wear the same kimono for cooking and tea ceremony is uncommon and unacceptable. 2- No where in our text for sweets-making we say that you'd wear a kimono. And our advertisement shows exactly what you'd wear. In English the definition of fine print usually refers to "specific conditions of exclusions," in our case, we never claim that sweets making includes traditional kimono wearing. We mention traditional kimono wearing many many times in the package you chose not to select. 3- Japan is an egalitarian society, in Japan if we made an exception for you (allowing you to do sweets making, kimono wearing and tea ceremony for the same price with kimono and tea only) we would have been doing the exact opposite of inclusion. We would have been unfair to all the other ladies who paid the same amount of money with you but who did not do the sweets making.

The welcoming staff help you get dressed, do your hair, and guide you through a traditional tea ceremony. The room is beautiful and they allow you ample time to take pictures afterwards. The whole process was very smooth and there was a huge selection of colorful kimonos!
