- huluholom0 contributionsLove it!It was mind blowing experience to cover Kyoto and Arashiyama today !! By far this was the highlight of our Japan trip this year. My wife (her first time in Japan) and I( my second time) took a chance to book this trip without know what to expect. We took a trip on the previous day to Mt. Fuji and although the trip was great (tour guide was great as well), we were somewhat dissatisfied because the weather did not allow us to see Mt Fuji all day! However, coming for this trip we were hoping for a positive outcome. Turns out to be a great experience for both of us. Every single stop was worth the price I paid. Although you’d see Fushimi Inari Shrine every ad on the internet, my personal favorite was Kiyomizu. I have never seen anything like it. I won’t leave spoilers here but I’m certain new travelers will appreciate the Japanese culture more after booking this trip. Lastly, I want to personally thank our guide JEWEL. She did a phenomenal job and turns out she’s a professional photographer as well lol she has good eyes and a lot of patience when taking each and every one of our photos. We can tell she really cares for all of us that was in the group. A lot of energy, enthusiastic, and just plain good vibes. Thank you Jewel.Written 14 March 2025

Beautiful experience of Fushimi Irani where I discovered the shrine grounds! Then we had a delicious and very filling lunch in a restaurant with many Japanese specialities. After this, I loved the walk through a forest of giant bamboos. After this, we took an old romantic train which took us along a gorge where we could see the outstanding views on a wild river and forests. To finish, we visit Kiyomizudera monzekai with the 3-storied pagoda and several shrines and temples. It is particularly stunning with the autumn colours of the trees all around!

Great tour! Our guide, Hama, was wonderful and spoke English well. It was easy to find our starting point, the itinerary was easy to follow. The buffet lunch was good. There were plenty of opportunities to venture off on own, we didn't have to follow the group the whole time. We were given time to explore and shop at each destination.
It was hot and humid, but the bus was air-conditioned and comfortable.
Fair warning - there is lots of walking!!

Hello! I'm Lydia from the LIMON Team. 😄 Thank you for taking the time to write us a review!
We’re glad to hear you enjoyed Ms. Hama and our restaurant. They will be thrilled to see your feedback! We really focus on allowing our guests to explore at their own pace while still enjoying the sights.
Kyoto is located in a basin, so it can get very hot in the summer. I’m glad we made it through together!😍 And yes, it's easy to walk over 15,000 to 20,000 steps in Japan, so a good pair of shoes is definitely the best companion for your travels here.😆
We sincerely invite you to visit us again—there’s still so much beautiful scenery and delicious food waiting for you!😄💛💛

Very nice and short trip with excellent views. You should book the train as soon as you arrive in Arashiyama because it's usually a very busy attraction.

Trip is advertised as a romantic train tour but is more akin to a semi-guided bus tour. The train ride shown is less than half an hour of the 9 hour experience, and depending on what side of the train you’re sat in will heavily depend on the view you experience. The locations they take you to are larger tourist hubs so it is very busy and crowded making it hard to keep up with your guide. There’s no history/storytelling tied to the tour, it’s mostly just dropping/guided to the locations and then released for “free time” that is usually limited to 30mins to an hour max which makes it difficult to truly see and get a feel for each location. Our guide Winnie was very friendly and fun to talk to, however you can tell she is rushed due to the strict timelines of the bus departures which are what dictates your time.

I had been day tours in different countries before. And this is the most disappointed day tour I have ever had. First of all, it is misleading of calling it a tour. It is basically, a coach will take you to three tourist locations and you walk around them. The tour guide did not tell us any history about the 3 locations. In addition, my wife and I were only given about 1 hour and 30 mins and that is not enough time to walk around.

Well worth it. Jewel was fantastic - possibly the best tour guide I’ve ever had. And I’ve been around more than a 50 year old Geisha. Was initially skeptical as I’m against resellers that buy up tickets in bulk like viator etc. and charge a massive mark up. But Jewel was excellent and added a lot of value, taking some great photos for us and being generally quite fun. You definitely want a good guide - makes all the difference.
