Amazing trip with superb guide VJ
This was without doubt the highlight of our trip to KL. We were very fortunate to have a fantastic guide called VJ who was kind, helpful and informative and really went out of his way to make this a special day. His English was also perfect and very clear. We saw the wonderful Batu Caves and temples, visited a pewter factory, Hot water springs, Monkeys and fireflies with a wonderful meal in a great local restaurant over looking the river. Highly recommended

          Silver monkeys and fireflies
The silver monkeys were amazing, so soft, gentle and cute. Take food to feed them or buy there. Would love to see them again. Dinner was nice, very fresh. The fish is still live and cooked on site. Fireflies, I got bitten by mosquitoes so not so enjoyable, but saw lots of fireflies.

guide was very good. batu caves very impressive. elephant sanctuary not so much
good day out but i was expecting to see something closer to a sanctuary and less of what i actually saw which was elephants in pens subsequently being paraded out to do tricks for an audience. very disappointing.

          Yes to all !!
Again we had a great guide who took us for a half day tour, first the caves which are really amazing and the steps to get there not as bad as everyone says, just watch out for the little monkeys who can be quite cheeky. Caves offer great views inside and out. We also had the opportunity to see how the local materials are made which was quite fascinating. The silver leave eating monkeys are very cool and amazingly tame around people. The trip out to the seafood restaurant along the river is very enjoyable and the seafood dinner even more so. Three different types of seafood and all very tasty!! The only let down was the fireflies, not seeing them of course thats always amazing, just the large groups of people on long outboard boats which wasn't what we had in mind.....

          Fantastic experience
Went with our children (9 and 11rs) we all really enjoyed the tour. The monkeys and fireflies were the favourites. The guy driving the boat for the firefies was great as he got up really close to the trees and made it a very special experience. Points to note - the car journey was long, but worth it so be prepared with water. Also it would have been nice to have a bit more explanation/information at the caves as well as the other places we visited.

          A fun and unique experience!
My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our Batu Caves and firefly cruise experience with Shajasa Travel. Our guide VJ was friendly, polite and knowledgeable, and it was useful to receive correspondence about the tour on WhatsApp. I was keen to visit the Batu Caves on our trip to Malaysia, and this tour was great as it enabled us to enjoy several different sights and activities in just one afternoon. At the Batu Caves, the Murugan statue and rainbow staircase were particularly impressive. The stop-off at the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory was interesting and we were also given the opportunity to feed some wild silvered leaf monkeys, which we loved. The firefly cruise was the highlight of the tour for me, and the seafood dinner provided was plentiful and tasty.

good to see, great for kids to see the elephants
I highly recommend this trip especially if you are travelling with kids. the batu caves are interesting, the elephant sanctuary is really good despite my reservations about wild elephants being used for entertainment purposes. it highlights the plight of elephants in malaysia and raises money for their conservation work. its fun feeding the elephants, you can get really close to them and they appear well cared for. the show they put on at the end is essentially a circus in a different guise. our driver and tour guide VJ, was brilliant. he organised all the trip really well, sorted lunch and got us into the the best spots.

          Excellent Tour
We took the tour to Genting highlands and Bukit Tinggi. I was with my 60+ year old parents. We had a blast. Our guide VJ was very knowledgeable - not just about the attractions but Malaysia in general. The road trip was long as we were coming from KL but VJ holds a conversation very well.

          Great day out
Not normally ones for tours but we were limited with time and did not want to lose time getting to the two places under our own steam. The guide (VJ) was excellent and dropped in lots of detail, not only on the activities but also KL and Malaysia in general (schooling, people, celebrations, etc, etc) The Elephant Sanctuary was interesting however because the river was high we could not paddle with the Elephants, but it did not spoil the day. It is a Government supported sanctuary and may not meet with the expectations of some people but there did seem to be positive conservation work ongoing. Batu caves - bit a climb but some very interesting and eye-catching figures and people. Watch out for the monkeys!

Best tour with the best tour guide ever!!!!
We were picked up on time and driven safely to our destinations which were absolutely brilliant!! Gosh the climb up to the batu caves was a killer- and the monkeys couldn’t get any cheekier too!! The elephants at the sanctuary were so adorable!!! Was amazing to have fed them!! It was an extremely hot day however the drive was splendid. Our driver and tour guide Vijay (who is absolutely wonderful and speaks brilliant English) gave us a full insight into other sites which we drove past. Clearly our day was memorable even more as we were looked after by such a humble and kind man. He’s a great example of how all tour guides should be!! We had so much fun and he no doubt made our trip one to remember! Highly highly recommend Vijay as your companion during the tours. You seriously will not be disappointed with his lack of knowledge and kindness. Next time we are back..we will find you again for our remaining tours! Thank you so much Vijay! You are the best!!!!!!!!

Worst day tour we have ever done
Only done half of what they listed in the list of inclusions; we only did the chinese temple and orangutan island- we didn't get to do the guided tour of Ipoh and concubine alley. The car window lever was broken off completely and so wasn't operational, the driver was sick and "didn't want to get out of the car because the change of temperature would make him sicker", there was a whole bulb of garlic which sat in the arm rest of the front seat and so the car reeked of garlic- I suspect he was eating it to help him overcome his illness. To make matters worse, because he was sick, he didn't want to put the AC down too low despite it being hot outside- it sat on 26.5 the whole time- which was too warm for us. The list of inclusions stated we had a guide but there was none- just a driver....we actually found another guide on a similar tour and were asking him questions because our driver didn't come with us. When we arrived at the 2 locations, all he said was "ill meet you at the other side" there was no general information, no insights into places, no directions as to how to get around, nothing.... there were 3 car parks at the temple and we weren't sure where to go, it took us about 15-20 minutes to figure out where "the other side" was. The whole time, the driver was rushing- and when he stopped for lunch and to get the tickets into orangutan island- he was literally running, you could tell he just wanted to finish the tour off as soon as possible. We paid $560AUD for the tour, I wouldn't have paid $150 for it, I felt seriously ripped off. The total amount of time we were actually on the tour outside of travelling would have only added up to roughly 1.5h- I would have gotten more value from a cab driver for 1/2 the amount. I actually booked this tour through Viator, and when Viator confronted Shajasa Travel and Tours, they made up lies and made excuses for everything above and refused to admit any fault. I would not recommend this tour company to anyone unless you wanted to get ripped off, I honestly cant believe that they have so many positive reviews because I don't have anything positive to say about this tour.

          Best day + Best deal
I traveled to KL on a whim during a visit to Singapore. I figured since KL was only a hour flight away, I should knock Batu Caves off my list since I was so far from the US. I reached out to Shajasa Travel and they were quick to respond and very helpful. I arranged for roundtrip transportation from and to the airport, a visit to Batu caves and a KL city tour. They knew my schedule and made it work for a reasonable price. VJ was my guide and he was excellent. VJ is extremely friendly and very proud of his country. He makes you feel welcome and very comfortable. I had a great day with VJ and would definitely return to Malaysia and use Shajasa as my go-to tour company. A nice surprise at the end of the tour was when VJ sent me photos he took of me while I was exploring. This was so nice especially as a solo traveler. He also made sure I was properly hydrated by purchasing water for me, iced tea, and coffee at different points throughout the day...are lunch a friend from the US joined me with a few friends. VJ also purchased their lunch, surprisingly. He's just a nice guy and his customer service is superb! I'm super pleased. Thank you. A great day.

          Enjoyable tour - Loved it!
My husband and I took the tour this Sat. Ultimately it was just 2 of us in a quite large car, so we got a private tour! Our guide VJ was very good and fun to talk to. He told us a lot about Malaysian culture, sports and politics ! On the tour we visited Batu Caves, Pewter Factory (very large, you could buy some very cute things there made out of pewter, silver and even gold), and then we visited a small Hindu temple at Kuala Selangor, a hill with nice views and so many monkeys (I really enjoyed feeding them), and then of course the dinner and fireflies. The dinner was a seafood dinner and could have been better as they include cheaper items by default, or maybe we are just spoiled as here in Hong Kong we have so many superb seafood restaurants :-) Fireflies are very cute, but it is pitch black so no photos :-) You should just sit, listen and watch. Overall we really liked that VJ didn't press us on time at all so we were moving quite leisurely and made all the photos we wanted :-) Thanks again to VJ, highly recommended guide!
