          Great city tour!
We loved our tour with Olafemi Tours!! Vagner was our guide and he had SO MUCH knowledge. Mind you, it is an in depth tour, so be prepared to be going places! The spots were great and it was amazing to hear of the Afro history and experience in not only Salvador, but also Brasil.

          Amazing Day Tour!
Joshuel puts his heart and soul into this exciting cultural tour around Historic Salvador! By car and walking, Joshuel knows his history because he lives it! The tour is expertly designed with stops at just the right time, ceramacists, artists, ice cream, coconut water w lime, lunch and a nice cachace at his favorite stop to top it off. We started at 10am and ended at 5pm but we were never bored or tired. We had a great time with our new brother Joshuel!

An incredible immersive experience into the history of the land and its people!
This was not my first trip to Salvador, but it certainly was the most enriching one! Our tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable and fun at the same time! No boring lectures looking at pictures about Bahia, we walked the streets of the upper and lower city for a hands on experience. Even took a drum lesson! We looked out at the Atlantic from the very lookout towers that guarded the coasts where enslaved Africans arrived in droves. It was an emotionally powerful moment… We attended religious services of the various traditions and learned to identify the influence of African religion on the unique form of Catholicism that exists today. I could go on and on. The food, the music, the beaches, the people!! I can't wait to return and I will definitely sign up with Olafemi Tours, an amazing company indeed.

          Comprehensive History and Fun!
Vagner was our guide and he was superb! He met us promptly at the hotel at the designated time. He showed a deep knowledge of the general history and specific African history of Salvador. This was important to us which was one of the reasons we wanted to spend time in Bahia while we visited Brazil. He pointed out the areas of particular note at each stop, and his commentary broadened our knowledge considerably. The lunch of local food that was included in the tour was very good (Vagner even explained the ingredients !) Be prepared for walking uphill on cobblestone streets in the historic center which are manageable. I would highly recommend the tour and make sure to ask for Vagner!

We thought it would be good...
...and it certainly was. Expect to have a personalised experience with Olafemi Tours. Attention to detail, punctuality and warmth are in abundance with Josuel and his team (obrigada). Salvador life and culture is unlocked with their intimate, authentic knowledge and experience of Brazilian life. In 7 days with Olafemi Tours, as well as being brought closer to understanding the importance of cantomblé in spiritual life, we also covered historical a city walking tour, swam at a north coast beach, visited key museums, shopped(!), ate national dishes, recreated a favourite meal, visited two islands in the bay while a talented band drew audience into the songs ... throughout we had wonderful warm southern hemisphere weather to boost our flagging vitamin D levels. So much more can be said- prepare to be charmed: gbadun iriri naa (enjoy the experience).

An Amazing and Insightful Day Trip!
This insightful tour of Salvador, Bahia highlighted its unique Black Diaspora cultures. What made the tour special was the great care by guide Josuel, who shared his encyclopedic knowledge of Salvador history, culture, and local life. Included were visits to varied places which figured prominently in the local development of Salvador and in the development of Brazil writ large. Bravo!

The Historical African-Oriented City Tour is a must! I was able to explore different neighborhoods, learn about deities and local politics, and even visit spots where Michael Jackson filmed. The open-air market was filled with diverse food choices - try the roasted cashews!!! What stood out most was the friendly vibe from the guide—he made history fun. If you want a journey blending history, culture, and a bit of pop culture, this tour is a must-do. Get ready to be entertained and enlightened by the vibrant spirit of the city!

Comprehensive historical, religious, political and culinary tour of Bahia!
Josuel We were so fortunate to have Josuel from Olefemi Tours accompany us on our trip in Bahia. His presence, warmth and knowledge, added so much to our experience. He perfectly accommodated our needs and exceeded our expectations at every turn. We felt so taken care of: he smoothly handled all our accommodations, transportation and went over and beyond to give us an extraordinary experience in Salvador and Cachoeira and set up our boat rides to and from Itaparica and Morro de Sao Paulo. During our 16 day stay, we acquired a great context and understanding of Bahia’s history, culture, politics and religions. We highly recommend his service to anyone traveling in Bahia!

Amazing Tour - Don’t Miss It
We really enjoyed our time with Andres. Andres is very knowledgeable about African Brazilian history, traditions, art and culture and was very eager to share his knowledge with us. We visited the Church of Our Lady of the Black People, The Afro Brasileiro Museum, the Sao Francisco Church, the Pelourinho District and many other sights. We felt very safe as Andres seemed to know everyone in the areas we visited and everyone seemed to love and respect him. Andres was very flexible and patient while I shopped and assisted me in selecting an authentic Bahia souvenir. The included lunch was very good. We also attended the Bahia by Night Dinner and Folkloric Show and the Culinary Traditions Tour with OLAFEMI Tours. All three experiences were excellent and I highly recommend all three.

          Amazing Bahia Experience!
A++. Outstanding !! Jousel took my daughter and I on a comprehensive tour of the city of Salvador. We were immersed in African-Brazilian culture and history from start to finish. Housing, food, religion, education, etc. We were able to really make connections to our own Jamaican and African-American experiences. Jousel was very knowledgeable and personable. A great storyteller! Delivered on everything that was promised, and more. This is a must do. Thanks, Jousel!!

          A must tour!!!
My wife and traveled to Brazil for the first time. Our primary destination was Salvador because of the African heritage. We wanted to explore the city and learn as much as we could while there. My wife reached out to Josuel. Initially on our behalf, there was a disconnect. Josuel followed-up and we arranged to go on his tour. Of course I can only give you an overview and summary, so here it go: Very punctual, polite, professional, knowledgeable. We explored the entire city of Salvador. Never once did I feel rushed, or if we were missing out on anything. As a matter of fact, Josuel deviated a couple of times at my request to incorporate my desires to explore. Before our tour ended, he treated us to a traditional lunch at restaurant named Axego. The food was so amazing, my wife and I ate there daily. Anyhow, this is just a brief snapshot. If you're visiting Brasil, especially Salvador and you want to learn about the city, heritage, and visit important historical sites/museums, this is a must tour. You will not be disappointed!!!

I felt like an extended member of the family after my unique tour of the market and cooking along side Ms. Angelica.
Knowledgeable and welcoming host and guide. I learned a great deal about Bahia history, local culture and foods. The market was just quiet enough to explore without rushing as we picked up a few goodies to take to the second part of the day.
Fresh caipirinhas and fish moqueqa were on the menu that we created in the kitchen. I had a great time visiting with my hosts as we enjoyed our hard work. Door to door, very professional service.
