I booked the tour online via trip advisor and then contacted the company the day before the tour by Whatsapp to confirm the pickup location and timing. The company monitors the situation at the border between Paraguay and Argentina and then decides the pick-up time in order to avoid lengthy waits a the border (which is a great idea).
I was the only one on the tour, so the tour guide (also the driver) picked me up at my hotel and we conducted the entire tour in a car. The tour guide was very helpful and spoke okay English.
We visited the three places mentioned on the itinerary and the best stop was the waterfalls which were beautiful.
I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to visit Paraguay but doesn't just want to go shopping.

It is an awesome experience where you are connecting with nature all the way. We went on a Monday and for some strange reason the park was not crowded. Took us only minutes to get our tickets, get on the shuttle bus and get to the falls trails. There was the option to go into the "panoramic elevator" which is a must for folks in wheelchairs or that have disabilities dealing with stairs and wet slippery trails. We took the trails and was awesome. You start peeking at parts of the falls and enjoy nature. Two Coatis greeted us on the trail aside monkeys, iguanas and birds. As you walk to the trail more and more of the falls gets revealed which makes the near 1 mile trail awesome. Recommended 100%. We saw the Brazilian side. Next time will have to experience them on the Argentinian side.

The first thing to say about this is that I was the only person on the tour. I think most operators would simply have considered it uneconomic and cancelled the tour so full credit to LGI for going ahead with it.

After being picked up promptly at my hotel , we drove over the Friendship Bridge from Foz into Paraguay. It took about 45 mins queuing to get across, and my driver helped ensure that I got the right stamps in my passport.

We first went to Itaipu Dam. The bus tour at the dam is no different to what you get at the Brazillian side (as I found out later) because tours from either the Brazillian or Paraguayan sides take you to both sides of the dam.

Next was the Guarani Indian Museum. This is just near the dam, and is a new-looking and very good museum, with plenty on the archaeology of the Guarani.

The next (and last) destination was the Salto del Monday. This is some km to the south of Cuidad del Este, and we had a bit of difficulty navigating. The driver's sat nav could not seem to cope with being in Paraguay, but luckily I had a map, which helped us find our way. I did not really mind getting lost as we saw parts of CdE that one would not otherwise encounter and it was actually quite a fun experience trying to find our way. The Saltos are well worth seeing (see my separate review of them). We had lunch (which I paid for) in a rather nice vegetarian restuarant near the falls.

The driver was cheery but with fairly limited English. That was fine - I much prefer being able to look around things and not be bombarded with facts and figures. There was no time pressure - for example I spent quite a bit of time in the museum with no attempt on the part of the driver to hurry things along.

For what its worth, CdE did not seem to me to be a threatening place in daylight (I was told its a different matter after dark), just one big chaotic market. I don't normally like guided tours, but for this, having a driver / guide was certainly helpful over simply doing the whole thing on my own. As a non-Spanish speaker I think making sure I got the right passport stamps, changing money on the street so I had Guarani for bus fares etc, negotiating taxi fares or else trying to work out the bus system (CdE does not feature in Google or Moovit bus apps) would certainly not have been impossible but would have been pretty time consuming and involved a fair amount of hassle. So it was worth taking my one-man tour.

We booked a full day to visit Paraguay. The guys are very flexible and everything was arranged in a few hours through whatsapp. They organized the pickup at our hotel although it was at the Argentenian side, they fulfilled our wish to visit the land mark, not easy, believe me! We saw the Monday Falls, even after seeing the Iguazu falls, not disappointing. So this trip is certainly recommended!

The Paraguay Experience was the best tour ever, they took us into a real experience in the city and to the not so exploited sites. You get to feel the real vibe of the locals at the street market that is totally awesome and eating at the local restaurant was also one of the highlights besides the natural sights that you get to visit adding on the huge dam that combines modern and ancient. Totally recommended would do it it again, no doubt!

Thanks a lot for your review Carlos! We love to show travelers that Paraguay is so much more then they hear. They have an amazing culture, nice waterfalls and the second biggest power plant in the world! Lunch at the vegetarian restaurant is a plus, not everywhere you find local vegetarian food. Thanks for joining us at this amazing trip! Have a nice trip!
