Do not get the train, get a taxi up instead and buy your ticket. Arrive early to beat the crowds and travel in low season to avoid 40+ temperatures 2 hour waits.

Go early, take the mountain train, sit on the rhs ( When on the train facing up towards the mountain top) and face backwards for marvellous views. At the top, the views are fantastic, you can even get a drink and buy a souvenir.
