Downtown & lapa tour and pub crawl
Took the downtown and lapa tour with Natalia. It was very informative and she was very attentive to solve any questions. During the whole time she was very opened to help everyone during their stay in Rio, giving tips and suggestions. She also recommended a pub crawl the same day, which was guided by Pedro and Luan. I had a great time with them, especially with Pedro teaching basic samba moves. Thank you!

Great way to see Lapa nightlife
This was a great pub crawl. You see some cool local bars. You also get to learn a bit about making cachaca and some tips on dancing samba. Our guide, Isabella, was amazing - professional in making sure everyone was ok, but also fun and involved with the group. Highly recommend, especially if you are in Rio alone. I did it on a Thursday night and we had a good sized group of about 14 which was a good mix of nationalities and fairly even gender split.

we went on this last Friday night. we had a really good time but only because we made friends within the group and we made it a good night! its the people in the group that make it what it is!

its not the fault of the guide at all - she did the best job she could but essentially its a totally misleading tour. the 'cocktail making' class is us watching her how to make a caipirinha and then one person drinking it. then 'stop number 2' is walking to the arches and a quick drinking game where we got one shot each. 'stop number 3' is a really fun bar with good drinks and live music for the 'samba lesson' which is just the guide dancing with us!!!
we then moved onto the final stop which was quite a walk away but a great club with 3 floors...we did use the VIP queue and this was the only place we got discount drinks (6 beers for something was the only discount offered).

essentially, I would recommend it if you want to meet other people or have a night out in Lapa and aren't sure where to go but its totally mis-sold. but like I say, having said that, we had an awesome night because of the friends we made! go with few expectations and a bit pre-loaded and you'll have a good time!

We went to 2 bars, one of which we stayed in for almost 3 hours, the ‘caipirinha making class’ is the guide briefly showing you how to make a caipirinha and our guide did it wrong! We only got 1 free shot and the guide was absent for most of the tour so we got zero information about what was happening

Great way and safe way to visit the night life in rio. I recommend this, I had a mis adventure on the last nightclub on this tour, where the club told me that I had a 220 charge, I did not buy anything and was only there 1/2 hour. The guides helped me straighten things out and stood with me. I would not recommend going without these guides to these clubs and some try to take advantage of the tourists.

Free walking tour and Pub crawl Lapa

My friend and I did the free walking tour with Natalia during the day which I highly recommend. Natalia has great English and was so full of knowledge of the history of Rio. It was a great way to see famous sites and learn history at the same time. Natalia mentioned a pub crawl the company she worked for also ran pub crawls. At the end of the walking tour we decided to book the pub crawl for that night (Thursday).

Pub crawl- we turned up at the first bar at 9 pm where we were met by Lana the tour guide. What can I say Lana was so much fun she had such high energy and made it such a fun night. Lana taught us how to samba (the girl can move omg) we learnt how Cachaca is made and got to have a shot before moving onto the next bar which had a live band, 2 for 1 cocktails, learn how to make caipirinha and free shots. Following this we played a drinking game and then ended up at the final club which was a Samba club with live band. I would highly recommend this for a night out to see some local spots and dance the night away.

I highly recommend both tours both Natalia and Lana were amazing.

Pleasantly surprised
So this started out a bit uncoordinated and I thought it would be a waste. Gave it a chance tho and I had really good time. Good way to meet other travelers. Definitely recommend this

Fun night out, but not a tour as described

We have done lots of free walking tours around South America. They are excellent. Unfortunately this tour wasn't really a tour at all. The leader seemed to be very much going through the motions. We went to 3 venues, rather than 4 as advertised. The second bar was an empty karaoke bar that we would have never have chosen to go in. The samba club was fun and a good place to visit, though the guide quickly disappeared from here without showing us any samba, as described. Glad we saw Lapa, but wouldn't endorse this tour.
