About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- FellowTraveler5775880 contributionsBeautiful hike with RafaelWe went on this Hike with Rafael. He was so knowledgeable about the forest and the entire city of Rio. It was an honour to be shown this area by him! He took some lovely pictures of us too and taught us loads We highly recommend booking this trip. The hike itself is moderate and beautiful the whole way.Written 24 June 2024
- DarkBowser0 contributionsExcellent Tour OperatorI've actually done numerous tours with these guys, some this month, and even some from several years ago and I have greatly enjoyed each one. I've had other tour operators in the past that don't like to do hotel pick up and drop off and so I value ones, like RioXtreme, that do. Plus, they have a fun and memorable name. They have a good variety of different activities with amazing scenery and difficulty levels. I have had no complaints in the different tours I've done with them over the years and if I ever find myself in Rio, I'll definitely be booking tours with these guys again!Written 31 May 2024
- annieinlondon880 contributionsBest tour we have done this trip! What a fantastic tour! The admin team were prompt, informative and responsive with every question I had prior to the tour and really helpful in picking the best day as the weather has been a bit patchy this week. Bernardo our guide arrived very promptly to pick us up and immediately put us at ease with his friendly manner and calm demeanour. He was a safe, but efficient driver, getting us to the park a moment before opening so we could be the first ones in. The trail itself is a great way to get up the the Christ Redeemer statue. We saw many birds and a mini capybara (I can’t remember the proper name). Bernardo kept up a comfortable pace, giving us lots of information and stopping at appropriate spots for breaks. The statue was very crowded but he helped us get some great photos and pointed out landmarks around the viewpoint which was very interesting. We also saw monkeys with their babies on their backs! After the walk back down, he took us around the park a little as well and we got to see the school of art and a temporary exhibit too! I would definitely recommend this tour!! I would say you need to be relatively fit, by the end we had walked 22,000 steps and climbed 157 flights of stairs according to my phone. Thanks again Bernardo for a wonderful tour.Written 28 May 2024

And everything was smooth upon arrival. Ezpz. Thank you so much for making my hang gliding dream come true!Written 20 February 2024
- y0ungkeun00 contributionsGreat HikeI loved the hike. The views were excellent, and I got to see a lot of interesting wildlife on the way, including several monkeys and a toucan. On top of that, my guide was great. He was fun to talk to and was really informative both about the type of wildlife native to the area and the history of the Christ the Redeemer statue.Written 21 January 2024
- Jeuel V0 contributionsRich wildlife hike with a top class guideThe park is a dense rainforest which is stunning and rich with wildlife. Weber is 10/10… he made sure we saw all of the scenic views, we moved at our pace… overall he is top class! Would highly recommend!!!Written 18 November 2023
- nobles4660 contributionsIncredible hike with stunning views! This hike was so great. Our tour guide Weber picked us up at the hotel, and took care of everything. The hike was a CHALLENGE, but was super rewarding at the end. I was in AWE of the view and the accomplishment we achieved. The rock climbing section was a fun challenge and again both up and down our guide had everything handled. 10/10, would do again!Written 25 September 2023
- Jensenerin0 contributionsSuch a great experience! We had the best experience on this hike, it’s was so beautiful and fun. Our guide, Jamir, was awesome. He was so helpful, kind and skilled. Rio extreme was super responsive to every email we sent, helped us change our date due to weather etc. they were a great company to work with. (We also went hang gliding with rio extreme.)Written 19 August 2023
- Kayakgirly0 contributionsVery good taster of the forestBruno was very accommodating and knowledgeable in the forest & park. We had a group of mixed nationalities but we were lucky & thankful that Bruno spoke in English. We could have stayed longer in the park but the timing of the tour did not allow - 4 hours is not enough. It wasn’t clear if we needed swimsuits so we chose not to take them and missed the opportunity to stand under a waterfall. We didn’t get to see the wildlife we wanted (not Bruno’s fault; he looked for monkeys).Written 21 March 2023
- Dream630674644770 contributionsOur tour guide was very kind and professional. He answered every question we had and was very knowledgeable. The tour was great. We got to visit every place we wanted to see in a timely manner with adequate time at each site. It wasn’t rushed at all!Written 24 September 2022
- connieh7350 contributionsAn unforgettable trip, with a wonderful guide.Hiking up through the Tijuca Forest was fabulous, especially because my wonderful guide, Rafael, knew the names of so many trees, plants, birds, animals, etc. And such a nice guy - very supportive and helpful in every way! The views from the top were spectacular, particularly the places we stopped along the way to enjoy the scenery without the crowds.Written 10 September 2022
- LP d0 contributionsSurf in Rio de JaneiroI never thought that surfing would be a fun experience. I had a great time learning this sport. My instructor, Luiz from Aula Surf Andre Lopes was very professional and helped me to improve my balance on the surf table. Very easy to follow instructions. Recommended!!!Written 4 August 2022
- Brent C K0 contributionsGreat hike with breathtaking viewWe had a great experience with Bernardo at the two brothers hike! The hike is very safe and has the best view I have ever seen. The trail is slightly steep and if you are in decent shape you will make it up quickly. The final part isn’t scary and it is easy to take incredible photos without having to actually be close to the edge. This is a great alternative to those who want to see an amazing but don’t want to do technical climbing of Pedra Gavea. We also got to walk through the Favela and see the local life there and that was also quite an experience. Thanks everyone at RioXtreme for this amazing activity 👍Written 25 May 2022
- Sergio B0 contributionsPhenomenal Tour and Top Notch ServiceI did the Sugar Loaf hike tour with Weber and it was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and ready to help whenever the path got more technical. I highly recommend them, and will be doing other tours with them next time I'm in Rio.Written 7 April 2022

Awesome experience trekking Serra dos Orgaos with Weber. I booked it having done Isla Grande with Raffael which I also could not recommend more highly. Both guides superb. Nothing too much trouble. The latter has absolutely beautiful unspoiled beaches with some nice woodland tracks between (and a fun speedboat trip). The former has stunning views and some very interesting forest walks. Both were relatively quiet and free of other people. I recommend an early start. Neither challenging walks.
