Carol was my guide and she was great. Contacted me in advanced via email and WeChat to arrange the pick up time from the hotel and was really knowledgeable on the day. What was great was she knew when to move to the next section, i never felt rushed but I also never felt like i was hanging around waiting at any stage. Everything felt like it was done at the right place.

As described. Picked up on time by guide Carol in mini van so avoid the struggle to get on site. Using mini headsets allows looking at displays undisturbed. Carol allows us to take pictures, asks questions and shows us to a local resource for lunch. Tour excellently paced. No rushing dispute packed with other visitors. High recommended n would do again

My husband and two teenage girls did the mini group tour of the Terracotta Warriors with six other people. Our guide was Carol; she was a brilliant guide: informative, funny and helpful at all times. When we all wanted to have lunch, she recommended a nice place serving traditional Shaanxi cuisine outside of the museum grounds. After the Terracotta Warriors, our tour became one-on-one just for our family. Even though the weather was rainy and a bit cold, Carol made the walking tour of the Big Goose Pagoda and City Walls enjoyable with her explanation about the sites as well as about modern life in China. She helped my husband and daughters rent bikes to roam the Walls. Since our hotel was walking distance from the Muslim Bazaar, we decided to end there, instead of at the Bazaar. Driver Yang is a very skilful driver and can navigate through chaotic traffic with ease. I also want to acknowledge the punctuality and speed of responses by Echo, my online booking agent at Travel China Guide. Of all of the agencies that I have used on this trip in China, Travel China Guide was by far the most prompt and attentive to my questions leading up to the tour. I would recommend using this agency while in Xi’an!

Public Bus Route 306 (Line 5) for tourists: As of March 2025 the 306 does NOT go from Xi'an central railway station, but from Fangzhicheng metro station. At the metro station take exit A and upon reaching the outside main road, the 306 bus stop is located 100 metres to your right. The 306 buses are double-decker designs and it cost 5 Yuan each way. You do not need to wake up early and get there for 08:30 as various blogs state. 08:30 low season is the busiest time (though still not super busy). At 08:30 I arrived and the ticket counter had only 3 people queuing for physical tickets. The price is 120 Yuan and cards were accepted. Most tourists are Chinese tour groups and so all their tickets are pre-bought. At 08:30 there were approximately 2,000 people, though nobody was arriving when I left after 2 hours at 10:30, which would seem to be the perfect time to visit, or thereafter. 2 hours exactly was sufficient for all 3 pits and the "museum". The complex itself is very disappointing. The warriors are nevertheless worth seeing of course due to the uniqueness and consequent marvel they exhibit, but the actual site is beyond poor.The museum is 1/10. A joke. And the entire compound is dilapidated and abandoned in parts (even though they must be making hundreds of millions of dollars per year from ticket sales alone).

I went on the day tour of Xi’an with my dad. Roger was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and attentive. He deliver the information in both English and Chinese so my dad could understand.

I recently went on a tour of the famed terracotta army near Xian. Tracy, my tour guide and local to Xi'An was a phenomenal treat to help explain and educate my group about many different aspects of Chinese history and culture. She was one of the best guides I've ever had and thankful she was with us. Tracy gave clear and very detailed explanations in perfect English. It was easy to understand her and she was able to explain many different questions we had. She was the definition of why you hire a tour guide: Great information, easy to understand, and a lovely guide to flow you through history and the sites around an unfamiliar place. Thanks Tracy, this was an experience I'll remember for a long time.

I joined this fantastic day trip as a solo traveller, making it very easy to see some of the top attractions in Xi'An! Tracy was able to give us a lot of insightful commentary as we toured the terracotta warriors (pits 1 2 3 and museum, even getting to meet one of the discovers of the buried warriors!), pagoda, and city wall. Sufficient time (dynamic based on the group input) was given, focusing on the history and story of each location. We also stopped for lunch to enjoy some local food after the warriors which was a good opportunity to be introduced to the popular dishes of Xi'An. The bus travel was very comfortable and efficient, especially since hotel pick up (and drop off if necessary, or to the Muslim quarter) is all included in the service. I would highly recommend this trip to someone looking to hit some key places quickly on a trip to the city!

Tracy was an amazing tourguide. She was very knowledgeable of the sites, the tour and very open for questions. She spoke very clearly and very understandable english. The tourgroup was not big so that was nice to have time and space to ask questions and walk around the sites. Tracy also spoke very calmly and peaceful, so that was amazing with all the crowds. Driver Li was also very good, he drove very peaceful and relax, had a good nap in between the spots.

With only one full day in Xi’an booked this tour to see the key sites and reason for coming here. Great size group with only 9 people. Lily our tour guide was brilliant very knowledgeable, polite and whole day was easy going. Made to feel very welcome as solo traveller.
