Pula - a window to the history
Pula is phantastic city with a great history background lasting more the 2000 years. Always an important naval port, always a mixture if various inhabitants originating from various countries who consider themselves for Istrians - peaceful people loving their Istria

Day trip to Kotor in Montenegro
We had one more day in Debrovnik and we decided to book a day trip to Kotor in Montenegro. Cost US$ 123.00 for two. As with our trip to Mostar, they picked up on time at our sister hotel (Valamar President), a short walk from our hotel. Again, in the city we are met and we again had to submit out passports. Make sure you take your passport, as Montenegro is not in the EU. After about 45 minute drive, we arrived at the border. It took a while for the whole process and once we were able to proceed we stopped at a rest stop for a few minutes to get a coffee and/or go to restrooms. We then proceeds and drove along the Bay of Kotor. Very picturesque. But a long and curvy road. We then made a stop at the village of Perast. Some people took to opportunity to take a boat ride and visit the Church of our Lady (extra cost). We decided to stroll along the village and have a coffee. A very nice village. Worth the stop. We then continued our drive to Kotor where we stayed for about 2 hours. The place was very busy. (There were 3 or 4 cruise ship anchored in the harbor). You had the opportunity to climb the famous wall. Similar to the wall in Dubrovnik. But this wall actually goes up very steep up the hill. We decided, we had have seen and walked the wall in Dubrovnik. And the time was very tight. We decided to stroll inside the old old and have a lunch at one of the many restaurants. We had black risotto and a pasta dish which came to Euro 40.00 or US$ 44.00 incl. drinks for the two of us. Then it was time to meet at the bus and it took as while to get out of the city as there is so much traffic and lots of buses. But on the return we took a shorter route and we passed the city of Tivat and took the ferry at Lepetane to get back to oridinal road at Kamenri. As we reached the border again, there were several buses in front of us which resulted in a long wait (about one hour) to cross the border. But this time we did not have to get of the bus. Just waiting in the bus. We made it back to Dubrovnik around 6-6.30pm and they dropped us of again at the hotel. If you have time, it is a worth wile trip. The ride is very picturesque (almost like Lake Como) and the old city of Kotor is historic and a must see.

    Day trip
Wonderful day to Montenegro with Super Tours, our guide Nikolas was fantastic and very kind. Perast was stunning and Kotor was lovely too. The only negative was the crossing back into Croatia which took over 2 hours.

    Beware
We spent 90 euros on a three day pass for two of us. No one told us that you can only use it once for each activity. We walked half the city walls which was wonderful and came down for lunch. We returned after lunch to find we could not re-enter on the passes! The passes also do not cover all of the museums which charge an additional fee to enter so be careful.

    A good taste of Istria.
The stops on the tour were well chosen and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a full day and demanding physically but worth the effort.

    Disappointed!
We paid $160 for an activity that would have cost much less if just bought a day pass on that day. I had thought it was a guided tour or something that offered more than a day pass. Please don’t waste your money on this. Just get a day pass when you get to the old town.

    Rip off
Absolute rip off. Do not go if you expect value for money. Miniscule amounts of wine at the first couple of stops. Almost angry enough to put in a formal complaint.

    Great experience
We had a really nice day with the tour. Our tour guide Barbara and Daniel looked after us very well. Daniel was. A great driver being local he was able to avoid the summer traffic jams and our pick ups were on time at each point 👍 Barbara was a great guide giving information along the way not too much on the bus but just enough , then at the three stops we learnt enough information to get a quick gasp of the history of each town. Guides are invaluable…we come a long way so it’s nice to learn a little history and about the region . Thankyou for a great day out. The meal /lunch at the small family restaurant was delicious and we were so happy to enjoy local cuisine…Thankyou to the Familja Ferlin …delicious! Hvala to all for a memorable day.

Informative, fun, comfortable with nice lunch.
Wonderful day trip. Tin the guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly. He gauged the level of informative commentary and stories with quiet time when traveling on the bus well. The duration of the day was very good and well planned to showcase key historical events and grasp a sense of modern Istria. The driver on the day was exceptional, ensuring a safe, comfortable and pleasurable trip. 👍

    Fabulous! *****
Initially the thought of the long coach ride was daunting; however it wasn't an issue at all (with a couple of rest breaks either side). The time went by so quick and the coach was air conditioned. The guide was very informative and constantly gave an insight into the history of Croatia/Slovenia - with other titbits of information. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Lake Bled exceeded my expectations - breath taking views like something out of a fairy tale! Another experience ticked off my bucket list. We enjoyed views from the Castle; free time to walk around the lake and finishing off with a traditional boat (pletnas) across to Bled Island and St. Mary's Church. This is definitely not a trip to be missed!

Great evening out seeing the sunset and Dubrovnik Old Town.
Booked through TUI and included local pick up at the Hotel Kompas. Lovely views and a very relaxing evening cruising around to Dubrovnik Old town from Gruz harbour (and back obviously). The included drinks and snacks were all fine for us, and being able to stretch out on the nets at the front of the boat was great. Excellent value too.

    very relaxing late afternoon trip
Highly recommended trip - we had a very good and relaxing time on the catamaran. Departing from Gruz port heading north and then to the old city just returning in time for the perfect sun set at the sea. Plenty of space, very friendly staff, mixed music, some snacks and drinks included. It was a chilled out atmosphere and a good option to see the old town and the bridge from the seaside.

Worth a vist, but recommend in the late afternoon if you're here in July as it gets very hot during the day and no shades in the
It's a must see attraction in Pula when visiting. We took a late visite in the afternoon in mid July because of the heat and not many people visits in the afternoon. We recommend to go there in the afternoon. And there is also no shades inside the Amfi. Too bad there is lack of info tablet about the Amfi anywhere inside the arena. The children wanted to know about the gladiators and the inside life of the chambers, areas and so on. So we had to google the info. Below the Amfi, really cool to see how they made olive oil and transport of olive oil and wine throughout Europe.

Plitvice Lakes are certainly splendid and worth seeing. However, I think I should make some notes on the organization of the visits. Entrance to the lakes costs €40, you can choose different routes that involve walking from 2/3 hours to 8/9 hours. My husband and I arrived at the park entrance at 10am and when we were paying for the ticket we were told that we wouldn't be able to enter before midday. This did not allow us to choose a long route and I did not find it absolutely correct. I understand that admissions must be staggered due to the high turnout, but at this point if I don't have time to see everything there is to see it is not correct to request the full cost of the ticket. Furthermore, when it was time to take the boat that took us across the lake we had to queue for about an hour, this further limited our possibility of discovering the beauties that the park offers. With a daily attendance of around 12,000 people at €40 each, the park managers could at least increase the number of boats so as to allow guests not to have to queue for an hour. In total I only saw three boats available to over 12,000 people a day and honestly it seems very little to me.

Two points to share:

Regarding the Plitvice Lakes National Park:

A true paradise, the water is clear, the waterfalls magnificent, a preserved site with marked trails. Several trails available on the official park website.
The boat and panoramic bus rotations are quite fluid, several places on the site to eat on site. there are also several circuit variations.
Parking on site is chargeable for information.
there are also catering points (at the ST level on the maps) with tables and benches. If you go to Croatia, an exceptional site to do.
It is best to reserve tickets as the number of visitors is spread out over the day.

Regarding the reservation via the service provider:

When we received our reservation, we had to go to JEZERCE to collect the entry tickets, outside of on-site collection was no longer available and we had to go directly to the park to collect the entry tickets.
I think it is better to book on the official website because going through this service provider will cost you 30 euros in commission (for 4 people). Prices also vary depending on the season.

Exceptional. If you like nature and have no problems walking, you MUST go there.
Natural park with waterfalls, each more spectacular than the other.
I recommend getting there early in the morning so as not to have too many people around, and taking routes C and K to see all the best things.
The only flaw may be that if you walk briskly, by morning you have seen the main beautiful things and there is little left to do in the afternoon.
But if you take it easy, it's a wonderful experience.
There are many refreshment points and services and also transfers included in the ticket by shuttle or boat on the lake

Surely the park is beautiful, the lakes and waterfalls very beautiful and suggestive but I find completely out of any justification the cost of admission to the park and the services provided.
There are a dozen routes that you can choose from but, regardless of the length of the route ... from the use or not of the boat ... and the time of arrival at the park the cost of entry is 40 € per person!
In addition to this 19 € for parking and........ a simple sandwich with cutlet 13 € + a bag of mayonnaise 1 €??????????
Very few bathrooms inside the park with endless queues to access it and the mandatory route from which you can not get out that lasts all the way.

Absolutely not satisfied me...... shame because it would really be a pearl!!!

I had a little trouble understanding how it worked, and I almost gave in and took a tour operator. Yet nothing complex, you book tickets on the site, we will give you an arrival time (possible access 1/4h before the scheduled time).
You arrive at the entrance that corresponds to your home city - we came from Zagreb, so it was the 2 I think (from memory so I can be mistaken).
Then in the park there are different longer or shorter routes depending on how you feel for hiking.
We did an intermediate ride that took half a day, with a boat ride to cut and a small train ride back.
It's really beautiful, mind-blowing, and I'm not overselling the thing, I promise.
No need for tour operator, take good comfortable shoes type basketball, water and enough to protect yourself from the sun.
My best day in Croatia was in Plitvice!
the water is clear and clean, everything is preserved and done with intelligence, there are a lot of people but they managed to preserve the place regardless. In April, it was quiet but in summer it must be a bit crazy

Plitvice was beautiful, but dealing with Trip Advisor was difficult. We were quite confused about what our $103 (2 people) paid for. Seems we paid a lot extra just for park entrance and nothing else. There was no explanation at all of the “tour”. We knew it was self-guided, but were not advised how much time to allow, possible viewing options, what to expect, etc. All in all we paid $160 for a 4-hr round trip bus ride from Zadar (which we arranged on our own) and 2 hrs. at the park.

Plitvice Lakes National Park.

It is important to buy the ticket in advance, check that access is better if the 1 or 2 since they are far apart from each other.

On the other hand, you will find the price high, per adult 40 € but let me say that it is the best money spent since you will see something AMAZING.

The Park takes you along perfectly constructed wooden and gravel paths, over waterfalls, lakes, rivers and forest.

Along the way you will run into viewpoints, waterfalls of all sizes, each with its particular beauty, lakes with transparent water that allows you to see the different varieties of fish, the forest with its bushy vegetation in different shades of greens, trees that their trunks have grown with whimsical and beautiful shapes.

All this you can appreciate with the support of their trucks, boats and attentive staff that is always ready to attend.

There is no shortage of places to enjoy a rich meal and cafeteria.

What if I saw wrong is the issue of ladies bathrooms, there are quite few in different areas of the park and I warn you that there may be fifty women "urgently going to the bathroom" before you, so as advice..... "don't hydrate", wait to finish your tour.

Calculate well the time you have, (hopefully you have at least six hours) to relax, enjoy the aromas, beauty, colors and climate offered by this beautiful place.

As a Recommendation, you can stay in one of the hundreds of rooms that are rented around the park, the truth is a very nice area and worth enjoying its peace, friendliness, comfort and environment.

I visited these truly unique lakes with my family! It is better if it is high season to purchase tickets in advance on the official website. Study in advance which route is right for you, it ranges from 2/3 hours of walking with around 4 km to 4/6 hours with 8,900 km or for the fittest there are 6/8 hour paths where you can cover up to 18 km. Remember that you cannot swim in the magnificent lakes that you will see as you pass along the walkways! Whichever trail/route you choose, the view will be breathtaking, have fun

I am rating this ticket, not the park. Buy your ticket from the official site, it is cheaper and you don't have gulliver travel taking a huge cut for nothing. A real scam. It is not even a ticket on your mobile, you still have to queue to get the real ticket at the ticket office.

We bought our tickets online a few weeks in advance for about $40 each. It included the boat and tram ride, so that wasn’t too bad. We chose the 7am time which was wonderful. There were many times when we felt like the only ones in the park. It was starting to get busier when we left around 10am. It is a magical place and really seems like it can’t be real. Highly recommended
