- 941ryans0 contributionsGreat wines, food and learning experience!Loved our tour with Agi. We did the Istrian Corners tour. The tour included two great wineries which also served extensive cheese / bread / meat plates as well as a wonderful dinner at a phenomenal restaurant. While the wine and food were great, the real highlight was Agi. Her detailed knowledge of history of the area was fascinating as she took us to various lookout points and old towns. We highly recommend her tours!Written 17 September 2024
- Howard S0 contributionsWonderful experienceWe had a wonderful experience! All of our hosts were personable, knowledgeable and friendly. They all went over and above to show us Istria and some of the fine wines produced. If you have a chance, this is the wine experience to sampleWritten 20 April 2024
- Becky-Suzette0 contributionsFantastic Tour for FoodiesWhat a wonderful introduction to the gourmet offerings of Istria! Our tour guide, Agnieska, made the day a treat with her knowledge and love of the region. We enjoyed all of the stops along the way - the view of Motovun, olive oil experience, truffle hunting, and brandy and wine tasting. What more could could you ask for in a tour!Written 19 November 2023
- B6337ABkevinm0 contributionsIncredible DayAmazing day showing off the best of Istria. Great scenic stops at the olive oil, Motovun and Winery. Agi truly loves the region and its history. Truffle hunting was amazing but make sure you bring good shoes for hiking. We went on the "hard trail" and it involved a lot more off trail adventures than I was expecting, way more than just a walk in the woods. We found two truffles! This area is absolutely beautiful and having a knowledgable guide was fun and made it very relaxing. Overall it was an incredible day I would recommend to anyone!Written 3 October 2023
- jenniferaO1239UD0 contributionsWhat a wonderful dayOne of our highlights of our trip would be this tour. What a great day. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable of this region. She took us olive oil tasting, truffle hunting and wine tasting. We ate and drink the yummy food of the Istria region all day. This is definitely a tour that you need to do!!!!!Written 23 September 2023
- krisindab20150 contributionsBeautiful IstriaThe trip was beautiful and Agnieszka's knowledge of the area and history helped to make the experience incredible. The Istrian countryside is breath taking and she knew the geography well, including small historic towns. The truffle hunting excursion eith the dog was very unique and fun. The olive oil tour and tasting was great. The wine tasting overlooking the countryside at Rossi was an incredible highlight. Would definitely recommend this excursion. Thank you Agnieszka for such a wonderful day!Written 27 May 2023
- Q4744FAjenb0 contributionsOne of my favorite experiencesOne of the best tours I’ve ever been on! Agi took my boyfriend and I throughout Istria for the day. She went above and beyond the itinerary and offered to add in extra stops along the way for views and pictures. We went to Ipsa for olive oil tasting and snacks. They were almost never ending with the various snacks brought out and they also had us sample three types of wines. Next stop was Karlic for some truffle hunting. There they taught us all you could ever know about truffles, and the history of their truffle business. We were also served various snacks with truffles as well as home made scrambled truffle eggs and donuts with “trufella” (chocolate truffle). We were able to watch them make the eggs and donuts as if we were in a live cooking show. After we ate more truffle snacks than you could imagine, we went on the hunt with their professional truffle hunting dogs. We spent about 45 minutes in the forest with the dogs. I would recommend sneakers for this part because although it’s not strenuous, the trail is somewhat steep. At the end of our hunt Agi met us with the car to take us to Motovun where we walked the city walls. Our last stop was Matosevic Winery. We were greeted with a welcome glass of white wine to sip on while learning all about their various wines and the wine making process. Lastly we sampled 7 wines while enjoying some charcuteries. During the drive between stops Agi taught us all about the history of Istria and the rest of Croatia. This tour is worth every penny!Written 21 June 2022
- davidemG4410PD0 contributionsAmazing immersion into IstriaWe were thoroughly impressed with the day Agnieszka put together for us. We have been fortunate enough to experience private experiences across the major wine regions across France, Italy and Spain and we were pleasantly surprised with the diversity of experiences she created for us in northern Croatia. Not only did she she put together an amazing day of olive oil/wine tasting and truffle hunting, but the car rides in between visits were enriching educational experiences where she helped provide historical and cultural context to our experiences. The truffle hunting portion of the day was truly unique to anything thing else we’ve done in Europe...who doesn’t love an afternoon of hanging out with dogs and having a meal showered in truffles? The olive oil was among the best we’ve tasted in the region and very educational to learn the different extraction techniques used across countries. Agnieszka also has a number of great connections in the up and coming Croatian wine scene which is a must do for wine lovers who enjoy big body reds and high character whites.Written 3 July 2021
- TineMorrison0 contributionsBoutique wine tour with amazing guideWe booked the half-day wine tour visiting Benvenuti in Kaldir and Matosević in Krunčići. Our guide Agnieszka picked us up in Rovinj at 9:30 and we spent the entire day together. She was very helpful and informative, sending information in advance over email and had great knowledge about the wines and vineyard culture once we arrived at each winemaker. It was great to spend the day with a local who was so passionate about wine and could suggest other wineries to go to on our own after the tour. The tour itself was very comprehensive and we enjoyed visiting 2 boutique family-run wineries. Each winery had multiple glasses of wine along with small snacks of cheese, meat, and olive oil. In between each visit we also stopped at scenic view points to take pictures of towns such as Motovun and Pazin. Agnieszka was helpful throughout the day answering questions. Even after our tour we kept in touch and she went above and beyond by helping us to figure out how to bring a few bottles of wine back home with us. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in wine and seeing the surrounding areas of Istria.Written 26 October 2020
- frankhines20190 contributionsISTRIS WINE TOURSWe selected this wine tour based on its reputation. We had the most amazing experience of our entire month long trip. Agnieszka is an outstanding guide and conducted the most complete and informative tour we have ever had in Europe, and we have been traveling there yearly for over 40 years. It was a complete day of joy. Food and wine plus the many sights were the best and made better with Angie's commentary. Highly recommend her and this tour to all serious travelers. - afinbarr0 contributionsExcellentI wanted to explore the Istrian wine region despite having no prior experience. This tour was perfect - we visited some of the best wineries in the region, and my host was very friendly and informative. I recommend this tour very highly!Written 15 March 2019
- Neema130 contributionsWINE TOUR & TRUFFLE LUNCHA MUST DO TOUR!! A friend and I planned this tour a couple of months prior to visiting Croatia. Rovinj was the 1st town we stayed in during our 2 week vacation. We opted for the day long Wine & Truffle tour. From the get go, Agnieszka was very prompt to answering any questions, as well as customizing our tour to our desired time. Mind you, this was nearly 2 months prior to our trip. This tour FAR exceeded our expectations. Between the carefully chosen wineries, the complimentary charcuterie boards and her knowledge of the region... there was never a dull moment. Agnieszka even went out of her way to take us to a remote, family owned olive oil vineyard because we showed interest in purchasing some olive oil in the Istria region. What we appreciated most is that this was a laid-back, no pressure, enjoyable experience. We did buy multiple bottles of wine and olive oil each ... simply bc we LOVED it. Our Truffle lunch: during our booking we expressed our love for Truffles. Again, Agnieszka picked the PERFECT restaurant that included all things truffle. We ate to our hearts content ! Although our tour went a bit over our booked time, at no point did we feel rushed. Another added BONUS: based on the conversation we had throughout the day ...Agnieszka offered & followed through with a personalized email of a list (a VERY long & thought out list) of vineyards and restaurants to visit during our entire 2 week stay along the Croatian coast. This was a much welcomed surprise as both my friend and I are both food and wine lovers!! I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed our day. This perfect day in Rovijn will definitely be a memorable one. Thank you Agnieszka for making this such a positive experience for us. We look forward to sending you many referrals from the USA!Written 13 September 2018
- yizuhilun0 contributionsExcellent white wine tastingThis day tour was perfectly set up. Our small group first had a welcome drink and left to see the wineyards. The yards look beautiful, especially with the weather, it's hot. During the tour we tried some more wines until we got back to the actual tasting and explanation how they get the wine that fruty. The white wine is very delicious and we got two bottles for our friends back home.Written 9 June 2018
- Bess S0 contributionsA Day to TreasureMy husband and I joined another couple for a great day of wine tours with Mihaela. We first visited Misal winery. This winery makes only sparkling wines. We were able to visit the bottling area and were taught about the process of making the sparkling wine. The next winery was a small family winery, Clio. This was a bonus winery as we were meeting with another couple and Agnieszka, Mihaela's tour guide partner. We then visited the beautiful hilltop town of Groznjan. We were able to wander around the small streets filled with artist shops. Our next stop was Kabola where wines are aged in amphorae. Lunch was a 4 course feast at local restaurant. Our final stop was Kozlovic, with beautiful views of the surrounding area. At each winery we were given full explanations of the wine making process, fed delightful snacks, and treated as treasured guests. Mihaela gave interesting explanations and commentary throughout the day. The van was very comfortable and Mihaela was a great driver. Mihaela and Agnieszka were wonderful and knowledgeable tour guides and we appreciated the opportunity to experience Istria with them.Written 31 May 2018
- vanessa42680 contributionsAmazing Day of Wine TastingsWe booked a 3 winery tasting with Agnieszka to be able to learn about Istria. The tour was amazing! Mihaela picked us up from Motovun where we were staying and took us to our first winery, then we explored the town of Groznjan. It was a beautiful artist town with beautiful views and picturesque streets. After another winery we had a 4-course lunch and wrapped up the day with our final winery. All the wineries were beautiful, unique, and had delicious wines that are specific to the Istrian region. We also had snacks of cheeses, meats, bread and olive oil and more at each winery. The lunch was delicious and somewhere we wouldn’t have found on our own. I would highly recommend booking a tour, Mihaela and Agnieszka made the day memorable and it was one of the best days of our trip! Istria is a beautiful area to explore and it was wonderful to be able to try the amazing wines and olive oil with knowledgeable tour guides!Written 28 May 2018

This was such an amazing tour that helped us get to know Istria on a more personal level. Agi is full of knowledge, we enjoyed talking to her and she really made this an unforgettable experience. The wineries we visited were all beautiful and we enjoyed hearing the stories of how each got its start. We received a generous charcuterie board at each winery, thank goodness because there was so much wine at the first tasting! The four course meal was at the most adorable family restaurant. The location was beautiful and the food was outstanding. We are so glad that we booked this tour!

We spent 2 full days touring almost the entirety of Istria from wineries to olive area tasting to truffle hunting. Agi completely personalized the experience to what our interest were and what we were feeling each day. Her contacts got us into some amazing tasting experiences that we never would have been able to do on our own. Her personal insights added tremendously to the overall experience. She added stops in the middle of the day that we had not planned on but based on our conversations thought we would enjoy and we did. If you only have time for one tour while visiting Istria and would make it with Agi, you will come away with an experience better than you could have hoped for!

We had an absolutely fabulous day on our wine tour. It was everything we hoped for and more! We went to 3 different wineries that were all fabulous, great wine and food and all so different from each other. It was interesting and engaging and everywhere was so generous with the wine and with their time! We also had a wonderful lunch, got some great photos and saw some beautiful countryside. It was a brilliant day I would really recommend this tour!

My husband and i are just back from a great holiday in Rovinj. We booked at very late notice with our tour guide Agnieszka, who was so kind to fit us in to her busy schedule.
She picked us up at our hotel ,and from the moment we met her, we knew we were in for brilliant treat, as her knowledge and history of Istria just blew us away! She made us feel so welcome, and her love and passion for the wines of this region really rubbed off us.
We visited two wineries with her that day , both equally as good as each other. Not only did we get to see the wineries, but also the beautiful countryside of Istria, you would never get to see these places yourself , as they are hidden gems tooked away in those rolling hills , they are just sublime!
We visited the first winery Benvenuti, the setting was just idealic. It looked down into a lush green valley of vines ,a patchwork quilt of different shades of green and out over to a little picturesque village on a hill called Motovun ,breathtaking! We were shown all around this amazing property ,and then brought into a tasting room , were we tried many wines , and had some Istrian cheeses , hams, breads , it was great !
Our second winery was called Matosevic , another great property, in such a pretty environment also. We sat this time outside in the garden with the sun shining down on us , shaded by the near trees in this tranquil oasis ! Great information again from our wine guide , who really drew us yet again with her vast knowledge and enthusiasam and kept us captivated that time just flew !
Agnieszka , was so kind to us, she actually drove us past the beautiful Lim Fiord, stopped to show us it and we took some photos .She is an excellent tour guide as she went above and beyond in doing this for us and also to arrange the day at such short notice. We cannot recommend this tour enough ,we are also planning on doing another tour at some stage on our return to Rovinj, as there are many different choices of wineries also full day tours and half day tours etc.. so it can suit everyone , it can even be tailormade to suit your specific requests, you are spoiled for choice, and believe me they are worth every penny!
Agnieszka is a brilliant guide, excellent knowledge and most of all a lovely person, that after minutes in her company you feel you have known her forever ! Our time booked with her was the highlight of our trip, she gave us precious memories of Istria, its countryside, its wines ,and the warm hearted people will stay forever in our hearts, while we dream of our return to what in our opinion was Paradise !

Lovely day and INSANELY good lunch. We did the intensive wine tour and went to 3 vineyards. They feed you at each and every one (they use the word "light," but they gave us 2 plates of prosciutto and a loaf of bread and olives and and and and...) and the wines are so delicious! We bought bottles to stow away in our luggage and are so glad we did-- the wines at the source are CHEAP, especially compared to ordering a bottle of wine at a restaurant. Great day. Great guide. The only thing I would say is that we were extremely bloated and full by the end of "Intensive" wine tour, so I would probably recommend the leisure program if you, like us, do not have will power or moderation tendencies.

My aunt and I took the 'wine and truffles' tour - and it was fantastic. Agnieszka was a wonderful guide and took us to three local wineries where we tried the local wines and were able to spend time with the producers. It was very laid back- and extremely enjoyable. And the lunch? The best food we had the entire month we traveled Europe. If I could give this tour 100 stars I would!

Wow, where do I begin? We had a fantastic day with Aggie and Nada! My husband and I were picked up at 8:30am at our apartment and were whisked away for a day of wonderful wines, delicious local food, beautiful views and great conversation.
We loved all three wineries that we visited, each special in their own way. While others were also there tasting, we felt quite special as we were taken on a private tour of each winery, where the host took time out of their day to our answer questions and show us their cellars. We were then treated to superb wine tastings, presented with cheeses, charcuterie, organic olive oil, and hand made chocolates. The wines were all top quality and we bought several bottles to enjoy at home.
Aggie went out of her way to be sure we were enjoying our day, stopping at a tiny undiscovered hill town, arranging a fantastic lunch which included truffles and local specialties. She was very professional, yet friendly and fun, and so very thoughtful with little details to make our day unforgettable. We're so happy we chose Istria Wine Tours, truly a highlight of our vacation!
