About
The reserve is a refuge for many species of fauna, some of them threatened, such as the canclón, a water bird that lives in the lagoon of the same name, and the crocodile of the coast, which has already disappeared in other areas of the coast. Due to the diversity and great extension of aquatic environments that the reserve protects, in the year 1990 it was declared a Ramsar site, an international recognition for wetlands of great importance.

- 976hadiyaha0 contributionsAmazing Tour, Highly RecommendThe tour was amazing. I highly recommend! Our tour guide Simo’n was amazing! He was such an interesting guy to talk to. He gave us so much information about the culture and nature in Ecuador. Wilson, our second guide up the mountain was very nice and so knowledgeable. We had a great time! The waterfall, mountain views, and nature were absolutely stunning! For the folks looking to take this tour, make sure you’re able to hike and you wear hiking shoes. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Guayaquil!!Written 2 December 2024

We had a group from many countries and he explained everything in English and Spanish. We were able to see penguins, Boobies , sharks, and flamingos. We had a blast on the boat ride over but do not recommend if you get sea sick.Written 4 November 2024

- Guide8076150 contributionsA must-do tour if you go to Galapagos! The guide Martin was wonderful. It was more than expected to easily see blue-footed boobies (chicks and eggs, too), magnificent frigate bird (with red balloon) , marine iguanas, land iguanas, sea lions, lava lizards, Galapagos snakes, and more. Lunch was delicious, prepared by the cook on the yacht. After lunch, we went snorkeling. A big green turtle appeared right in front of me and I was happy to swim with it for a while.Written 23 August 2024
- Companion080136842890 contributionsBest time ever - wonderful birthday!!Our guide Roberto and Henry the drive made my trip to Ecuador very special. It was my birthday and I couldn’t of had a better birthday. It was just wonderful so the guy is so knowledgeable and so easy to talk to and I got a chance to see hummingbirds and the spa was excellent. I will definitely book with him on a trip next time I go to Ecuador, which I love this country is so beautiful and there’s so much to see. I highly recommend it.Written 14 June 2024
- Peter G0 contributionsGood to do as a first tour. We had seen a lot of the wildlife already so it was a little tedious.Very hot, and a lot of talking by the guide initially. Once we got to the snorkeling portion the tour improved. We did this tour last amongst 5 tours, and it would have been better suited for doing first.Written 23 February 2024

- Joseph Z0 contributionsEXCELLENT sites, poor GuideBest tour on Santa Cruz Island. Tour visits 5 off-shore sites that are all great. Lots of snorkeling, swimming, hiking, boating. Includes snorkeling/swimming in the infamous Las Grietas. Would be 5 stars but our Guide, David Ascencio, yelled at us for using our saliva in our masks….? He embarrassed us by yelling in Spanish “go spit in your own private mask and not ours….? Ummm, that’s diving and snorkeling 101 dude. Without David Ascencio berating and over-controlling us, would have been great.Written 4 January 2024
- MikeSantaMonica0 contributionsNice Introduction to Santa Cruz IslandGood introduction to Santa Cruz, if you arrive early and want to take advantage of a later afternoon tour. Saw some beautiful wildlife, including a Blue Footed Boobie, iguanas and sea turtle.Written 4 October 2023
- laura_romine0 contributionsAmazing wildlife and great overviewWe really enjoyed this tour. We had the chance to snorkel and saw a shark laying in the sand and a sea turtle swimming and coming up for air, not to mention all the beautiful fish. This was also our first sighting of the blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds. The bay tour is a standard trip here, and having English translations was super helpful.Written 25 July 2023
- Trip650500936180 contributionsNever book with these peopleNever book with these people. After taking our money and booking us for a very expensive excursion, they told us they didn't have room on that day and that we would have to come two days later. Then my travel companion got covid when they did have room for us, but they refused to give us a refund, not caring at all that we could come on the excursion and infect everyone else on the trip.Written 20 July 2023

My friend and I had a fantastic experience on this day trip. Jefferson was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the area. We spotted a lot of different birds at the Mangrove, and we got to experience the unique sounds of the Howler monkeys. The day ended with a trip to a cacao farm, here we made our own chocolate and learned about the history of the cacao in Ecuador. We were treated to a 3 course lunch here and it was by far the nicest meal we had on our Ecuador trip. I would highly recommend this day trip if you’re in Guayaquil, 5* experience. Thank you Jefferson and Perfect Destiny.

A nice way to spend a few hours bike riding on trails; then walking to see wildlife including crocodiles.
