About
Nashik is a treasure trove of amazing temples, wadas (old housing complexes) beautiful riverside promenades, iconic century-old eateries and beautiful museums situated in 19th-century buildings. Famously known as Dandakaranya in the past where Lord Ram spent some time in his exile, the city boasts temples and sites dedicated to Ramayana at every nook and corner in the old area. Unfortunately, tourists know only one side of Nashik that is wine tourism. They hardly visit the old part of the city lest the intricate mesh of the tiny lanes which take you to the medieval temples and colonial buildings still standing tall to tell their stories. This walking tour takes you to all such beautiful places which can only be accessed on foot and with a knowledgable local. At Urban Serai, we make sure we provide you the most authentic information introducing you to the most beautiful city we have known! We partner with locals to give you an authentic experience of Nashik.

Amazing Experience
Dec 2019
Our trip to Nashik was fantabulous! The experience was planned and customized by Ms Amrita, her spellbound attitude amused me and my family. We being from the south of India (Bangalore) were skeptical about visiting sites as we also had a language barrier but urban serai made it an astounding experience. The insights about Indian history was explained and we got to visit places like panchvati-Kalaram temple which is the important shrine in the city. We were amazed by the intricate statutes and arches..I highly recommend urban serai for anyone who is interested in architecture and a bit of history. I guarantee that you will be amazed by this city.

Education Trip
We went with 40 kids from Denmark for an educational trip in the month of November. After a long drive from Mumbai I must say we were a bit skeptical about doing a walking tour on the same day or rather doing it at all. But it Amrita who turned around the entire situation . Not just pumping much required energy in the kids but also making them participate in local activities like playing nashik dhol and kushti in traditional akhada . She made it totally experience oriented and enjoyable .the way she conducts the walk is amazing with not just knowledge but knowledge that would generate curiosity. Very friendly , very knowledgeable , very smart and good at her work and most importantly very professional. Looking forward to enjoy more walks by Amrita.

Any one from Chennai who is only familiar with Shirdi and Trimbakeshwar should take this tour and be amazed like we did. A well informed tour covering lot of beautiful temples, buildings and museum with such rich history. I recommend this walking tour for those who are visiting Nashik or Shirdi to take the time and visit these places with Urban Serai.

A memorable trip
Nov 2019
India is slowly warming up for walking tours and city tours now. This particular walking tour in Nashik offers the best and most memorable experience to all those who want to experience a different side of Nashik. The guide was quite knowledgable and answered all our questions patiently. If you are thinking of a relaxing wine vacation, then Nashik is the best option, and once in Nashik, a walking tour is a perfect way to end the trip.

Slow travel at its best!
Dec 2019
It felt that the entire experience was planned and customized for us. We had a chat with the Urban Serai representative and explained what we wanted to see in the old town. We got a detailed overview of the history of the different temples we visited. We enjoyed eating at the local food joints and loved walking through the streets of Bhandi-bazar and Sarkarwada area. I definitely recommend the heritage tour.
