About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 154aartit0 contributionsAMAZING EXPERIENCEOur experience was amazing. Our tour guide was Deepak Kohli. He was so nice and explained everything in detail. In some of the places we went he let us go behind the scenes and witness how they do it. Overall experience was great and would recommend.Written 1 December 2024
- Disapppo0 contributionsAmritsar day tourWe enjoyed a very informative and well thought out tour, led by Ravish our guide who was a fountain of knowledge and who also looked after us very carefully in the milling crowds of Amritsar on a Sunday. The tour around the Golden Temple was fascinating and, although we didn't have four hours to spare to queue to go inside the temple itself, the time spent looking at all aspects of the feeding operation was fascinating. Ravish allowed us to go at our own pace so we never felt rushed or on a schedule. The personal nature of the tour was well worth the extra money. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if your time is limited and you really want to understand this fascinating city.Written 1 December 2024

- Will R0 contributionsWonderful Glimpse at Amritsar and Punjabi CultureExcellent tour provided as described in itinerary. The sights were amazing and my guide, Rishi, provided fascinating information about Punjabi history and culture along the way. I was also able to meet another guide, Ravish, who was similarly kind, professional, and welcoming. I highly recommend Rishi and Ravish for this wonderful tour of Amritsar. Pro tip: you might want to make a special request to try Amritsari Kulcha!Written 14 November 2024

- G12160 contributionsthe highlight of our 2nd trip to IndiaMy daughter and I visited India in 2016 but didn't manage to get to Amritsar. Our 2nd trip was to rectify that as well as visiting other wonderful parts of India. We booked this trip after reading the TripAdvisor reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint. We were lucky enough to have Rishi as our guide and he made everything come alive for us. His knowledge of Indian history is excellent. We started at the Golden Temple which was as beautiful as we had hoped. The temple itself is absolutely stunning and Rishi provided lots of information so that we could appreciate its history. Another highlight was the Community kitchens. Ir was astonishing seeing the preparations to feed many thousand people, and Rishi managed to arrange for us to help the ladies make roti. (All of mine had to be recycled!!). After the Temple we went to the saddest part of the tour, the Jallianbagh massacre garden, where again Rishi brought history to life. We also saw many monuments with the story of each told so well. We visited the Partition Museum and Rushi helped us to understand the problems that Partition brought. I have mobility problems so we built in a rest back at our hotel and then Rishi collected us for the Border ceremony. We absolutely loved it. It was like going to a Rock Concert. Rishi helped us to navigate the crowds, so we had a decent view. We duly bought our India flags and cheered with the crowds at the astonishing displays by the Indian Army. Afterwards we were taken back to our hotel. This day was simply the best. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Thank you so much, Rishi. You made our day.. a brilliant guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Today will stay in our memories.Written 7 November 2024
- T9394VEtamaras0 contributionsWonderful day with RishiRishi was a fantatsic guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. His knowledge was phenomenal. He took the tour at our pace and was flexible with our needs. He knew the best places to take photographs and always made us feel safe. He has such a way of explaining the history to you that I have retained it all and able to share with family and friends. The car which was used was very comfortable. His advice on where to sit and what to do in places like temple and at the border cermomy really helped. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting amristar. Thank you againWritten 7 November 2024

- Viliam K0 contributionsWe have visited so many places. Our most favorite attractions were the Golden Temple and the Wagah Border. The tour was amazing! The guide was super knowledgeable and we learnt so much about Sikh culture. We highly recommend this tour!Written 2 November 2024
- Michael B0 contributionsAmritsar at its best, full of culture, colour, theatre and life.I had an amazing experience with Amrik, my guide. I learned so much about Amritsar and its history. It was very humbling visiting the Golden Temple. The behind the scenes look at the Langar Hall, joining in making roti and seeing how it works was very special. The day ended with the border ceremony which is an amazing theatrical performance. Amrik was great, a true gentleman. He's such a kind and thoughtful man and he looked after me the whole time really well. I think when you spend time with Amrik who is proud of his culture and country it really shows. Everything he does is with a pure heart.Written 1 November 2024

- Curiosity116554940480 contributionsDetailed and amazing tour with Ravish in AmritsarThe tour started at a nice time and Ravish was kind enough to pick us up directly at the hotel. He started off by explaining the historical significance of the city and then gave previews of each site before we actually visit the areas so that we can have an understanding of what to expect. The Golden Temple was amazing as expected, with lots of history and culture of the Sikh religion. Although Ravish is not a Sikh, he understands the ins and outs of the religion to explain everything. Exploring the Langar kitchen was an unexpected surprise and you can even help out with making the rotis. Next, the Jallianwala Bagh served a good grinder of how colonialism affects the lives of day to day people and the Partition Museum gives a sense of how difficult it was for the community. Do keep in mind that tour guides can't go in with you during the Partition Museum so ask your questions ahead of time on what to look out for. The cherry on too is the Wagah border. Highly recommend, won't spoil anything but try to sit close to the border but not next to the wall. Our guide, Ravish was very knowledgeable. He explained a lot of India, Hinduism, Sikhism, significance of sites, politics, and lifestyle. The way he explains is so complete that we can't think of a lot of follow-up questions anymore!Written 27 October 2024

This is an amazing event and if you are staying in Amritsar well worth a visit, even though it's a fair distance outside the city. The Indian and Pakistan troops march on their own sides of the border. I was on the Indian side and the troops really whipped the crowd up into a frenzy of flag waving and cheering! It's very noisy and colourful and lasts about 30 mins. There are special seats for foreigners and VIPs. Foreigners will need their passports.

Our guide's name was Ravish. He was an excellent guide who told my wife and I about the area, about Amritsar and about the Wagah Border flag ceremony. On the way, he also gave advice on seating and what to look for. My advise is to seat as close to the front as possible and as close to the border gates as possible and to avoid the concrete pillars of the stadium. The Wagah border flag ceremony is a worthwhile experience that is not to be missed. The pomp and pageantry is fabulous!

I hadn't intended to visit the border. However, when I decided to take up the option, I thought that doing so with the benefit of a guide was best. This was the case.
My guide, Amrik Singh, established contact early on and then maintained it around the arrangements for pickup and for attending the event the following afternoon.
Amrik proved to be reliable in picking me up when he said, in a comfortable and well-maintained vehicle, which he drove responsibly and in securing my access to
the event and ensuring I got back to my hotel safely. Throughout, he was communicative, courteous, and highly professional in providing information about the event and also generally about Amritsar and Sikhism. He also ensured my safety and well-being and checked and gave me information about things like the availability of toilets and hydration and also the potential risk from hawkers.
The event itself at the border was a fabulous opportunity to be both entertained and informed about the relationship between India and Pakistan. All those involved, the men and women of the Indian and Pakistan armed forces, were fun to be with and were all great performers.
I am pleased that I went.

Before coming to Amristar, me and my best friend and were unsure if we wanted to go to see the border closing, but after a last-minute booking, we are both so glad that we did.
If you are in amristar, it is definitely worth going to cermony as it is unlike anything you would experience in the West.
Ravish, our guide, was fantastic, and so was our driver. Ravish was waiting for us at the pick-up point, so we left early, and he took care of everything.
On the car journey there, he explained many things that you would be hard push to find information on and was very willing to answer any of our questions.
Once at the boarder, he made it effortless for us to get through all the crowds, and it resulted in a stress and hassle free experience, which is extremely rare in India. Due to us getting there early, we got to watch the pre-cermony and had fantastic seats to watch it all.
Afterwards, Ravish waiting for us and took us back to our hotel. Would definitely recommend booking with Ravish for the best experience going to the boarder cermony.

Rivesh was the best possible person to take me to the border ceremony. I was unwell, it was 44C. Not only was he caring and considerate of my comfort, he was an informative and interesting guide. He responded to numerous questions on a broad range of topics in an engaging way. Had I been staying in Amritsar longer I would have asked for him to take me to other sights as his company added depth to the border ceremony experience.

Ravish Mehra organised the trip for the three of us.
He is extremely knowledgeable in regards to the history of the area.
He was also very accommodating to our requests to drop us off after the wagah trip in Amritsar city where we could have dinner.
He, in fact suggested a very good restaurant.
Thanks Ravish for looking after us.
