About
Visit the Tung Yee Peng Village, a small village on the East coast of Koh Lanta. The mangroves here are almost as big as the island. At the edge of the water, a bridge welcomes you and on the other side, there is a cement path going through the mangroves. Mangrove roots create a quiet and protected area for fishes, crabs, oysters, lobsters, and shrimps. The forest is also a guard zone for reptiles, mammals, and birds and protects the coast from erosion. Take a longtail boat to explore mangrove areas and watching the variety of local fauna - colorful birds, mudskippers, fiddler crabs. Stop at the monkey point. You can see the monkeys and watch them swim and dive.

- leahdS2649AX0 contributionsGreat day out - amazing spots! This was a lovely trip out! The boat we had was for 3 - 5 people, we were 5 people so it felt fairly basic and didn't have much cover jurying the journey out to the islands - so be prepared to get wet if the sea is rough. Once we got around the islands it was incredible, the two captains were so so lovely and took us to nice quiet spots. We stopped for lunch on a very secluded beach and ate a homemade curry which was one of the best we've had since being in Thailand. Would definitely recommend!Written 6 January 2025
- staceymP4708OP0 contributionsHighly unsatisfactory. Not the experience we were expecting. We were sold a trip for no more than 8 people with an English speaking guide. We turned up to a boat of 17 people and a military like assessment of which tour we belonged on. Not the welcome we were expecting. We were told that the village fee was included in the price was forced to pay an additional 40thb on arrival. We were cast out on the kayak without anyone checking if we knew how to kayak and the tour guide kayaking far ahead without turning to check and without talking to us about the surrounding area. We hit some shallow water because of the position of the tide and had to cut short the mangrove experience. We then headed over to the sea kayaking which all felt very rushed again with the guide kayaking ahead without checking on us. They then fed the monkeys and let them on to the boat without checking with the attendees (for fear or allergies). The food was adequate but nothing to be excited over. The guide didnt really interact with anyone and was disinterested and bored looking the whole time. He didn't attempt to explain anything. Having had a similar kayak experience on a different island this was well below par especially for the price that they were charging. Overall it wasn't an enjoyable experience.Written 3 January 2025

- Wander3776690 contributionsOrganizer sells not-existent tourHi, this bad review is for an organising company. We booked a tour that had more activities and more snorkelling stops compare to others snorkelling tours to Koh Haa and Koh Rok, but get that are cheaper and had less activities. On our side we were attentive tourist and before tour starts asked if we are at the tour that we have paid for. The Gide assured that yes. But really it was cheaper, shorter in time and less activities and snorkelling stops having tour. I write after tour to organising company asking to paid difference between two different product back🙂 but they just said “we are sorry”🙈 So the lesson is as follows - in reality is one tour to Koh Haa and Koh Rok organised 😁 do buy the cheapest one of them😎Written 5 December 2024
- 896keelyg0 contributionsTop tier!It was gorgeous! The cave was beautiful and our guide, Sing, was excellent. I will recommend and do it again if we ever come backWritten 4 December 2024
- trinao8600 contributionsSnorkelling sisters…What an incredible day! We saw so much of Phi Phi island and the amazing surrounding bays, about 90 mins of snorkelling in total. Lunch was delicious and there was unlimited water plus a soft drink. The staff were so kind and considerate! We would recommend to anyone and definitely come again!Written 3 December 2024

- Janine T0 contributions1st Class Cookery Course in Koh LantaWonderful experience at Lanta Thai Cookery School. Booked through a local travel guide, we were picked up at our Hotel and transported to the venue, a beautiful clean open, well equipped kitchen where we met our cooking instructor San who herself is a treat with her happy smile and cheerful personality. We got to choose 4 different Thai dishes from her Cookery book and had step by step instructions through each step, including little tips along the way. After each dish we had a small break where we could taste our various dishes that were simply delicious! We chose to cook Phad Thai, Panang Curry, Pad Krapow and our all around favourite Khao Soi with Chicken. NB: DO NOT HAVE BREAKFAST Whatever we didn’t eat we got to take home as Takeaways. Great value for money with bonus cookery book! Transported back to our Hotel. Well done to San and her team for a 1st Class experience!Written 11 August 2024

- Karen W0 contributionsDon’t miss this - highly recommend this tour. FabulousDon’t miss this amazing opportunity for a fab tour. Our guide today ‘Sing’ took us on an adventure not to be missed. We glided in kayaks past mangroves watching skipper fish and then little monkeys came to greet us . Then we sailed across the tranquil sea in long tail boat to wonder at Koh Pee and other limestone islands to a tiny beach were more monkeys were waiting and took drinks from our bottles. No fear of them biting they seemed really tame. Back in kayaks we visited a limestone cave amazed by beautiful stalagtites. Koh Bubu was our lunch stop. I kept pinching myself am I really here so beautiful. Very adequate lunch followed by a swim - bliss. Lots of water supplied +++ and lovely watermelon. We enjoyed that but so did the monkey who came aboard at the end of the day to gorge himself on the tasty fruit till his cheek pouches bulged. Thankyou Sing who was full of fun and genuinely lovely guy taking great care that we were ok and having a lovely time. I highly recommend this tour.Written 31 March 2024

- Kmkell840 contributionsBasic service, fair price, got to my destination on time...Basic pick up and drop off service. I got to my destination on time and at a fair price. Compared to a service I used to get from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta the ride was not very comfortable as the van was packed to the gills with people and luggage (can't fault the company for this as it all depends on how much luggage people pack), but the driver was not the friendliest and was visibly annoyed when a passenger asked to use the bathroom while on the ferry boat because he'd have to unpack the van to let her out. Would I book again? Probably, but know that these shared van services will vary in experience/customer service based on number of people, amount of lugguage, and the personality of the driver.Written 29 February 2024
