About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Extraordinary752930 contributionsBespoke 22 Day Tour of Central, Southern and Western Sri LankaWe are a family of five just back from a 22day tour of Sri Lanka booked with CTD. We advised dates and few specific requirements for the trip and CTD put together a fantastic itinerary covering Columbo, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Nurwara Eliya, Ella, Udawalawe NP, Bundalla NP, Mirissa, Galle and Wadduwa. The package included all accommodation and a driver / guide for the duration. I obtained proposals from 4 other Sri Lankan operators and selected CTD based upon itinerary content, accommodation and value for money. Accommodation was 4-5 star 'deluxe room' standard with half-board and, in most cases, CTD were able to arrange inter-connecting rooms for our children. The accommodation was very good throughout and, at most hotels, accommodation and meals were included for the driver. The itinerary was an ideal balance between ancient city culture and history and more teenage-friendly activities such as jeep safaris, whale-watching and white-water rafting. We all particularly enjoyed an authentic Sri Lankan half-cooking course in Ella where then then enjoyed the product of our efforts for lunch! Special acknowledgement goes to Chamila, our guide / driver, who always had a smile, was knowledgeable, friendly and willing to adapt and tailor the schedule to best suit the needs of our family. Chamila was also a great ‘fixer’ ensuring that arrangements were in place with jeep safaris and other activities in advance to ensure a smooth experience for us. Chamila was also very flexible and willing to accommodate additional sights, stops and requests. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would happily recommend CTD to others.Written 5 January 2025
- valeriagO4103LX0 contributionsA memorable journey through Sri LankaOur experience with Ceylon Travel Dream was really good. From the initial planning stages to the last day of our trip, the team displayed excellent communication and a genuine commitment to tailoring an itinerary that suited our preferences. Our route included: Negombo > Sigiriya > Polonnaruwa > Dambulla Caves > Kandy > Ramboda Falls > Nuwara Eliya > Train to Ella > Ella > Galle. Our driver and guide, Chandana, was exceptional. His driving skills made us feel completely at ease, even on Sri Lanka’s bustling roads. His vehicle was always clean and comfortable, with fresh water provided daily. Chandana’s knowledge of Sri Lanka’s history, culture, and local traditions added great value to our journey. He patiently answered all our questions, traduced things for us, offered helpful tips, and even introduced us to local cuisine by arranging a meal with fresh, authentic ingredients. Highlights of the trip included his perfect timing for the Sigiriya climb, helping us avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful sunset, and his enthusiasm for wildlife spotting, which added unexpected moments of joy. Chandana’s kindness, honesty, and attention to detail made him not just a guide but a trusted companion throughout our trip. For anyone planning to explore Sri Lanka, I highly recommend Ceylon Travel Dream and specially, Chandana. His thoughtful approach and personalised service transformed our trip into unforgettable memories.Written 16 December 2024
- theninaadventures0 contributionsWildlife tour of Sri LankaWe did a 2 week wildlife tour of Sri Lanka with Ceylon Travel Dream. From the start, the communication was excellent. Throughout the booking process we were able to customise the trip to what we wanted to see and do. Even after booking, Kasun checked in with us throughout the tour to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Our tour guide Chandana was incredibly attentive, he made sure that we got to see everything Sri Lanka has to offer as well as experience the culture, food and local life. He would always stop and show us places of interest on our long drives as well as ensuring we had plenty of drinks and snacks on the road and during our safaris. We visited many of the national parks such as Yala, Wilpattu, Udawalawe and Minneriya. We saw lots of elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, birds, leopards and even some sloth bears! We also visited a park called Maduru Oya, I do not recommend this specific park as it’s very overgrown making it difficult to see the wildlife, you also have to constantly duck out of the way of branches. The vehicle we were in during this safari was poorly maintained and very noisy meaning the animals ran away as soon as we got close. Most of the hotels we stayed in were clean and comfortable with a good selection of food for breakfast and dinner. We personally were not a fan of Arugam bay as it’s a typical backpacker/tourist hotspot and the entire place smells like burning garbage and plastic. We were very lucky to have such an attentive and knowledgeable guide who has an infectious enthusiasm for sharing his love of his country. He showed us the natural beauty of Sri Lanka and ensured we had the best possible time. I would recommend booking with this company and would book again without hesitation should we decide to return to Sri Lanka.Written 24 November 2024
- gallen130 contributionsAmazing views from the towerThis tour was well worth it. A pleasant drive through interesting country. We had a great driver, Buddhika, (we also booked him for our Kandy to Colombo Airport transfer) He is a very good, careful driver. The tower and other monuments on the top of the hill were very interesting. The views of the surrounding countryside amazing. We are very happy to recommend this tour.Written 21 October 2024

- 708sufyans0 contributionsCeylon travels - One stop solution for Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 tours!Having decided fairly early on, Sri Lanka was set as our go to place for the honeymoon having an optimal mix of land, water, mountains with lush greenery. All research conducted pointed towards having a tour guide for ease of travel and arrangements, and thats when we stumbled upon Ceylon travels (having also heard of them through a friend) Our experience with Buddhika, from Ceylon travel and dreams has been nothing short of extraordinary. He was incredibly patient in hearing our interests, highly accommodating of our proposed changes in the journey and always willing to find the solution. He not only provided us with the optimal route for our 10 day trip but also booked plausibly the best hotels within our budger. We have had the best trip of our lives, all thanks to Buddhika, and his excellent tour guide who I would rate amongst the best in Sri Lanka. The tour guide (also the driver) whose name was also Buddhika is a very kind hearted man, and took care of us like family. Overall, this trip far exceeded our expectations and cannot wait to be back with the wider family, and obviously doing all the arrangements through Ceylon.Written 14 July 2024

- Travel164812947660 contributionsNice optionOne of the most commendable aspects of Ceylon Travel Dream is their adaptability and flexibility. From the outset, they demonstrated their willingness to accommodate our schedule and preferences, seamlessly adjusting our itinerary to include additional destinations and modify routes, even at the last minute. Their ability to pivot without compromising the quality of our experience was truly impressive. Communication is key when planning a trip, and Ceylon Travel Dream excels in this regard. Their responsiveness to our queries was exemplary, with prompt and clear communication that instilled confidence in their services. By Whatsapp, they were always readily available to address any concerns or queries, ensuring a smooth and stress-free planning process. Ceylon Travel Dream impressed us with their flexibility and adaptability. They were quick to adjust our itinerary to fit our preferences, even making last-minute changes without any hassle. Their ability to accommodate our needs without compromising on quality was impressive. Communication with Ceylon Travel Dream was excellent. They responded promptly to our messages, providing clear and helpful information via Whatsapp. Their availability and responsiveness made the planning process easy and stress-free. Furthermore, Ceylon Travel Dream matched the prices offered by other agencies, showing their dedication to customer satisfaction. The only no-so-positive comment that we have is that, while our driver-guide was skilled at driving and certified by the Tourism Board of Sri Lanka, he was very new to the places, so we got lost several times and had to stop and ask for directions frequently. Also, even though we were not expecting a full-guide tour, we we would have appreciated a bit more information on the places where we were going specially due to his certification. Apart from this, the driver-guide was super friendly and we are sure he will improve quickly. Overall, Ceylon Travel Dream earns a solid four-star rating. While there is room for improvement in pricing transparency and guide expertise, their commitment to customer satisfaction shines through.Written 15 March 2024
- Tour327405402650 contributionsA Complete Dream Holiday!!!This was our first trip to Sri Lanka. From first enquiry, their recommendations according to our interests, booking, paying deposit and pre-trip communication everything was excellent. We paid the balance after arrival! We chose Wildlife and Nature Tour which included Sigiriya, Minnerya, the tea plantations, iconic train ride to Ella, Hiking in Horton Plains, Yala wildlife and Bundala wetlands. We completed with a beach stay and our trip lasted 12 days. From secretive herds of elephants, a large male leopard sunning himself at Yala to seeing a baby eagle in its nest and the multitude of glorious birds at Bundala where we were about the only jeep around Ceylon Travel Dream indeed has delivered a holiday we could only dream about! With no nightmares! From arrival in Sri Lanka we had no worries at all Ceylon Travel Dream’s driver, Chamil, was there to help from the moment we landed. He took on the job of us enjoying Sri Lanka to the max in a very professional and fun way, always respecting our wishes on trips and rest. He was kind, considerate and easy to be with. We felt secure in his hands. The vehicle was excellent. Accommodation was all excellent and we experienced some beautiful hotels even though we said we didn’t need luxury! We enjoyed it immensely. All meals were included so we got to try out a lot of options. Excellent standard in everything! Amazing really. Most memorable though are the tours. The wildlife is so close and the jeep guides did their best to help us see the world’s best animals! We will never forget some of those encounters! We would DEFINITELY book Ceylon Travel Dream again. Fantastic value for the price!Written 13 March 2024
- asithasenevirathne0 contributions🌿 Enchanting Journey at Horton Plains! 🌄My recent visit to Horton Plains, Sri Lanka, in last December was a spellbinding journey into nature's embrace. The trek to World's End unveiled breathtaking landscapes, where the plains dramatically drop, creating an awe-inspiring panoramic view. Mini World's End, with its unique charm, added to the enchantment of the adventure. The mist-laden trails created a mystical ambiance, enhancing the beauty of the surroundings. Baker's Falls provided a refreshing interlude with its cascading waters, and the resident wildlife added a touch of wilderness to the experience. The knowledgeable park rangers shared insights into the local ecosystem, adding depth to the journey. Horton Plains is a must-visit for nature lovers, offering well-maintained trails and a serene atmosphere. The combination of World's End, Mini World's Ends, misty trails, and diverse wildlife creates a captivating and beautiful environment. Kudos to Horton Plains for preserving this ecological gem, providing an unforgettable adventure that truly showcases Sri Lanka's pristine beauty.Written 25 January 2024
