After lunch, make the 4- to 5-hour, 161-mile (260-kilometer) journey to India’s ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur.

Admire the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, and considered the most stunning of Jaipur's sights. After lunch, tour the City Palace, the principal residence of Rajhastan’s ruling family and famous for its elaborate architecture and museum. Then, explore Jantar Mantar, an outdoor stone-built observatory constructed in the 18th century. If time permits, visit local workshops specializing in hand-woven carpets and textiles. See how silk carpets are made, and this evening, depart for Agra, traveling through beautiful countryside on a 149-mile (240-kilometer), 4-hour journey.

Then, explore UNESCO-protected Agra Fort. With its 1.5-mile (2.5-kilometer) walls, this red-sandstone fortress was the Mughals' imperial seat and consists of fairy tale-like palaces, including the Jahangir and Khas Mahal, two mosques, and several audience halls, like the Diwan-i-Khas.
