About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Evetei0 contributionsHeartfelt experienceI had a lovely afternoon with my guide Kiran at the sanjay slum. She was showing me lots of different places in a slum and she gave me lots of understanding about people's everyday life in Sanjay Slum. Heartfelt experience 🙏🏽❤️Written 17 January 2025
- JMC22220 contributionsGreat tourWe had a brilliant tour with guide Naresh and driver Dharminder. WE were clear as to what. Interested us and that shaped the tour. Naresh really knew his stuff and was able to fill us in on lots of aspects of Indian life - not just where we were. We were very happy with our experience. We chose Reality tours as they are a social enterprise and 80% of their profit goes into support for the disadvantaged in IndiaWritten 5 January 2025
- 259candice0 contributionsHappy community doing the needful day to dayAmazing experience! Naresh was so informative and patient with our young son who is 8 and asked A LOT of questions. Very well organised. A must to see and very family friendly. Thank you again!Written 28 December 2024
- naturegirl20190 contributionsDo it!The tour guide was very sweet, knowledgable, and an interesting person. She was so patient with me, even as I took a break to feed stray dogs. The only issue was finding the tour guide, as there is no signage. But, I called the agency, and was able to find her after that - It wasn't her fault at all - it's a signage issue.Written 25 December 2024
- Mgraffin0 contributionsHiring the local guide in Agra was the best decision I made when booking this tourI booked with this company on the basis of their Tripadvisor reviews and the fact that they support a local NGO. I had originally planned to take one of their Dehli specific tours, but the prospect of spending a day in the terrible smog forced me to revise my travel plans. I booked the Same day Taj tour with the optional extra of hiring a local guide in Agra. We visited the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and MK Handicrafts, a marble inlay workshop run by one of descendants of some of the craftspeople who decorated the Taj Mahal. My driver was right on time in the morning (which is pretty amazing for India, especially considering Dehli traffic) and very professional. We picked up our local guide, Pradeet, in Agra, who helped me navigate the rather overwhelming crowds and ticket purchases at the various attractions. I would strongly recommend bringing a few thousand rupees in cash for the entry tickets and tips - credit cards are apparently accepted, but its a bit of a process. We were very blessed to visit Agra on a smog free day, and the tour was well worth what I paid. It was a long day, but I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream, and learned a great deal about India's long and colourful history. I look forward to travelling with this company again when I return to India.Written 15 December 2024

- Passenger347166060910 contributionsFun and educational toursMy husband and I toured around Old Delhi markets and temples with Kavita. It was interesting to see such a bustling part of the capital, and we also learned a lot about its history (just be ready for the strong smell of spices!). I particularly liked that the tour includes temples from three religions. Our guide Kavita was so nice and fun. I also did the Sanjay Colony slum tour with Tavrej. Again, it was a very educational and worthwhile experience. Tavrej is a great guide, and it was inspiring to see the work of fabric recycling as well as Reality Gives’ activities in that community.Written 11 December 2024
- domia9100 contributionsSanjay colony tour with KiranI had a great tour with Kiran! I was alone with her and as we are almost the same age it was very interesting to get her point of view on her life growing up in Sanjay camp near Sanjay Colony. Thanks 😊Written 5 December 2024
- 6ruthh0 contributionsHighlight of our time in DelhiWe did a number of tours with Reality Tours and Travel, all were outstanding! The guides are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and lots of fun. They brought us to so many places we would not have found on our own. We highly recommend the Old Delhi & Spice tour which we did with Sam, the Sanja Colony tour with Dolly and the Delhi Street Food tour and Public Transport tour that we did with T. 80% of their profits go back into the local community for education etc. 👏 Thanks so much from Ollie & Ruth! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Written 5 December 2024
- RosieZ310 contributionsGreat tours of Delhi which had a lasting impactWe were lucky enough to have Dolly as our guide twice in Delhi: for the Sanjay Colony and Old Delhi tours. She was outstanding, as were the tours, couldn't praise her or the content and attention to detail enough. We are recommending these tours to any of our friends going to India, and hope to be back ourselves next year when we will definitely book some tours of Mumbai.Written 2 December 2024

He took is to Sanjay colony (where e grew up) and talked us through all the great work him and his team are doing to help the community. I feel like i have made a friend for life. We saw how people with nothing can get on and improve their livelihoods with some help from outside. - 717lilyanab0 contributionsWonderful tour in Old DelhiWe had just a day in Delhi, so we opted for an early tour in Old Delhi. The tour was interesting, well structured and we had a great time. Visiting different temples and the Mosque requires arms and legs to be covered. The last part of the tour is the spice market, which is probably the most captivating of the bustling markets around. We also bought some traditional Indian clothes while walking around since the next stop on our Indian trip was the wedding of a friend. Our tour guide was extremely helpful, bringing us to the right places. We are very happy with the overall experience. For our next visit, we are eyeing the slum tour.Written 13 November 2024

This food tour was an explosion of beautiful flavors! Wow! Our guide, Kavita (Kavi) expertly navigated the MAYHEM that is road traffic in Delhi while providing great detail about each of the food samples we tasted. Kavi even explained all the steps of how to make each dish ourselves! She gave us a sense of comfort while twisting and turning through the bustling streets and marketplaces as we went from food stop to food stop. I am now on a quest to find some of this food in the US. The tastings were plentiful and we ended up eating so much that we skipped dinner that night! Aside from having the opportunity to bond with Kavi over shared experiences and chats about our different cultures, the tour was an exciting day for us. Highly recommend this tour as a FIRST stop when visiting Delhi. You'll get a full taste of the area, but also learn the tips and tricks of getting around on the metro system and tuk tuks. Wear comfy shoes :) What a day! Book now with Kavi!

We did the afternoon food tour that started at 1 pm. We met our guide at the Metro Station and he explained what the tour would encompass and what we would be eating. After that was complete, he walked us into the Metro to take the train to Old Delhi.
Once we got off the train, it was one great food item after another. The tour was not only about food, but we learned a lot of history about Old Delhi. We stopped at about 10 different places and tried all kinds of foods.
At one point, we passed groups of people sitting in two groups outside restaurants while walking down a narrow street to our next food spot. I asked our guide if they were waiting for free bread and he explained that they were waiting for a free meal as they were poor. People eating at the restaurants can leave a few Rupees and when they have 50 Rupees total, they make a plate for one person. As we were eating our fried chicken, I asked if I could buy a bunch of meals for these people and my friend also wanted to do the same. The guide walked us back to the restaurants and explained that we wanted to buy meals for those people. They agreed and we paid them. Before they passed out the plates, they had us touch the first one to bless and it then started to hand out all the food. It warmed our hearts that we could at least help them with this one meal.
This was an incredible tour and the part of the proceeds go to help the poor, so I cannot recommend it enough.

Stanley, our guide, met us promptly, guided us expertly through subway crowds, dirt streets and excellent food in Old Delhi. I highly recommend this tour for the adventurous—not so much because of the food which was good and mostly identifiable (potatoes, yogurt, lentils, fried bread)—but because of the noise, the traffic and the press of people. It was our first day in India and quite a good introduction!

I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore old Delhi and try some delicious food. The food we tried at each stop was great, but even better was getting to experience Old Delhi with a knowledgeable and organized guide to help us. We wouldn’t have been able to navigate this hectic neighborhood without him! We also learned a bit about the food, the history, and current sites in Old Delhi.

The whole trip was excellent. We got to the heart of the old city of Delhi and experienced the buzz of street life with an exceptional tour leader. We tried a selection of very tasty foods and drinks. Often when travelling there's a risk of getting stomach problems from street food so It was great to have a guide with us who could take us to authentic places to eat and drink where these concerns weren't an issue. It was a great introduction to India.

My wife and I met up with Naresh for a food tour through Old Delhi. We took a quick and easy metro ride to the heart of the city and the second we arrived we were thrown back in time to a bustling market. It was amazing. The sights and smells were incredible. During the tour Naresh stopped at various food stalls with each stop being entirely different than the previous. All of them were wonderful and provided a well rounded sampling of India’s local food scene. We can’t recommend this tour enough and think anyone who visits Delhi should see this for themselves.

Coming to India for the first time can be overwhelming but our guide, Abhi (pronounced like Abbey) made us feel so comfortable and safe during our tour! Abhi had a wealth of knowledge about all things India. We appreciated his kindness and attention to detail throughout our day. We really didn’t know too much about Indian dishes beyond Chicken Tikka Masala at our local Indian restaurant, but Abhi really taught us a lot and introduced us to the culture. He answered all of our questions with detail and explained so much history as well. We enjoyed our time very much and would recommend Abhi to anyone. Thank you Abhi for such a great time!

Such an amazing experience. My guide Abhishek was excellent. He knew where to go for all the good food, explained the delicious goodies we ate, and also described the history and culture in the parts of the city we visited. He even showed me how to use the Metro! At the end of the night I was full...from eating, seeing so many sights and just experiencing Old Delhi at ground level. I also got some great street photography shots as well. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Thanks again Abhishek.

Was super fun and a great way to get a taste of what Old Dehli was like (no pun intended). Naresh was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the city, it’s history and what food items are unique to Old Dehli. The tuck tuck rides in between certain food stops were entertaining too! Keep all your elbows and legs inside or else ! Really gives you a sense of the craziness of this city with so many people. Naresh explained all the food stops and items with pride and it was delicious (especially the fried chicken and the sugar coated fried dough like dessert.) Naresh is a pro at this and it was good amount of time to be out and about. We did the 1 pm tour and the food carried us through dinner ! Thank you !

This is a must do in Delhi! Before finding this tour, I wanted to indulge in the flavorful and delectable street food, but I was afraid of falling ill. Sourav assured us all the many delicious stops were completely vetted for sanitation and food quality by reality trips and tours. Sourav hunted down the best of the best food stops, rich in flavor and history, that were passed down generations. This was the perfect experience, with a balanced blend of entrancing history of Old Delhi, insider information on the architecture and the markets of Chandi Chowk, and countless food stops that sent us spiraling into food paradise. Sourav was constantly checking in us, ensuring comfort, answering questions, and ordering all the food and drinks that we were aching to try. Sourav was an exceptional guide, not only leading us safely through thr chaos of Chandi Chowk but becoming a true friend, recommending lesser known must-see Delhi attractions and offering his assistance for thr rest of our duration in India! This food tour was very reasonably priced and exceeded our expectations and more. Each day I find myself craving the mouthwatering food we shared!

Hello, I was looking to book this tour for a Sunday - does the market still open to the same extent and timing on a Sunday or would a weekday be better?

I checked with our tour guide and she said that the shops are closed and the food stalls are open, but she recommends that you try and book this tour on a weekday.
