Stop At: Red Fort (Lal Quila), Netaji Subhash Marg, New Delhi 110002 India

Delhi, the capital of India has so many things to share with us. It has so many historical monuments with undiscovered hidden secrets, mouth-watering foods, mix culture and much more. With this short 2-hr trail you will be a part of one of the historical monuments of Delhi and that is ‘Red Fort’ or ‘Lal Quila’, which is one of the grand legacies of the Mughal Empire, Shah Jahan, who moved the capital of his empire from Agra to Delhi. The red fort was the residence of the Mughal emperor for nearly 200 years. Due to Delhi being the capital of India and was the good part of the Mughal rule, Red Fort has been one of the important monuments through the years. It is a witness of a long journey of the freedom struggle.

Chennai (Madras)
Bumpy road from vandiperiyar, mostly full of lemongrass forest ride. Dangerous off road drive, with no roads. One way muddy track created by jeep's of jeep safari. On the way to from kumily, we can see huge view points. On the day of our visit, misty clouds were passing through us in a view point. There are tea gardens, Elaichi estates, guava gardens, etc. The off road drive is over muddy mountains,so patients should be avoided.

Silk Tour and Old Bangaluru
I had the opportunity to visit parts of the city that I never would have visited on my own as a solo traveler. From a great breakfast to touring the flower market, I felt safe at all times and I also appreciated how the craftsmen and artisans were also respectfully treated. The silk making process was fascinating and I enjoyed the chance to see several of the steps in creating the beautiful woven product. Shopping for silk scarves, shawls and sarees were an extra treat at the end.

Avoid priests and celebrants
Pushkar's lake is beautiful. The priests and consorts who entice you to make an offering, or puja, by the lake side are aiming solely at your money. They will bless all your family members you are summoned to name, before being asked how much you are prepared to donate for the fulfilment of your wish. The answer is obviously “All I have!”, not to be confused with the realistic donation the priest ought to expect for his services. Don’t let yourself be confused by this unholy mix between remuneration for the celebrant and the worth of the blessings promised from heaven.

Informative, eventful and a memorable activity :)
The walk was nicely organized and structured by the Wandertrails local supplier. The activity is a complete package of history, culinary and a local market shopping experience.

A refreshing experience!
I wanted to try something really different this time for my upcoming trip to Munnar. So I googled for some unique activities in Munnar and I came across Wandertrails. It was such a discovery! They have so many unique things to do in different places. For Munnar and being a fan of drinking tea, I chose a tea tasting experience in a plantation stay. Tony was such an amazing host and he taught me so much. I got to taste many varieties of tea too including some rare ones. I have now started appreciating the work that goes into bringing the tea into our cups. I recommend you try this activity with Wandertrails to add a new spin to your holiday. Something refreshing and new has always lasted longer in my memory. You should try the same.

Quiet, beautiful picnic spot
The drive to the south of Goa to this ancient Shiva temple is beautiful. The place itself has a gushing brook to walk in.

Freshness Available
While at Mangaladass, got this wonderful opportunity to visit the market as well. Fruits and vegetables here are indeed fresh and was told that they are freshly delivered from farms and orchards within the area. Besides the fruits and vegetable, one can also purchase various spices in both pure form and grinded for use. Raisins, Almond and various nuts and dry fruits are available for selection at a very reasonable pricing.

An incredible behind the scenes tour of Old Bangalore and its silk industry
We spent a great morning touring parts of the city that we would never be able to find our own. We got to see the process of making silk sarees from start to finish. We felt comfortable and safe at all time with our great host, who not only took great care of us, but of all the people and businesses that we met along the way. We also got to experience the largest wholesale market in Bangalore, a sight worth its own trip! The tour supported local craftsmen and local history and culture. At the end, because I asked, our guide helped me buy some lovely silk scarves for souvenirs at a quality and price that I would have never found on my own on Commercial st. We had a great time wandering off the beaten path and eating lunch at a local hotspot. It was a lovely insight into the local life in Bangalore.

An adventurous drive to remember....
We took a jeep (Mahindra) from near the Periyar reserve and went to Sathram. It was a fantastic drive. It may not be for everybody. It shakes your body to the core and at places it's really dusty. But the views are amazing. I really appreciate the skills of those drivers as they are basically driving on roads that are merely stones and boulders. At places it has just enough space to accommodate just the tires of the vehicle!! It's an experience for life.

Watching master craftsmen at work
After some confusion on meeting place, I had a great tour with Ali. As a solo female traveler it was great to get inside knowledge of the silk finishing process from thread to saree. In addition to the silk workshops, we visited a Hindu temple, had a traditional breakfast and went shopping for sarees. If you want to buy in the markets or from the silk weaver take cash, foreign credit cards are difficult to process in some shops.

Fantastic Bike Ride!
The bike ride was fantastic! We were able to experience smaller communities, enjoy the the agriculture and families during their daily routines as we whisked by on our bikes. This is not something you can experience while driving a car. I highly recommend this excursion. Fun! Challenging and exhilarating. Our guides took great care of us and there was a chaser van in case of any problems with the bikes.

Seamless expereince while making your bookings
I used the Wandertrails services to book my honeymoon to Leh. Already a fan of their services, I was sure they would provide me with the best of options available. They were there with me throughout, understanding my need, the kind of accommodation I was looking for and the price range. They did not try and push the most expensive one's available, but concentrated on providing me those accommodations which gave the best experience. They have constantly done this and it is one of the main reasons why I am their loyal customer.
