True to the name “Akshardham” meaning “abode of God”, the temple’s aura will draw you into its inner sanctum.
A courtyard designed in the style of a step-well would be your first step towards experiencing the ‘positive power’. The spiritual essence of the temple is embodied in the philosophy of Hinduism and its transcendental preaching across all sects and religions. As you explore, you will find beautifully sculpted statues, paintings, carvings, inscriptions and murals that would embark you on a journey towards spirituality. From simple practices of humanity in compassion, kindness and its percolating effects from one to all; a part to the whole is beautifully explained here. The thematic gardens will leave you in awe. So will the Sahaj Anand show in the Yagna Purush Kund with multimedia effects and water fountains that will enliven a tale from the Kena Upanishad.
Diving deeper into the spiritual realm of the shrine, you will be in tune to the energy vibrations. These waves pass through the magnificent marble and sandstone structure that roped in more than 8000 volunteers from across the world to build it. And, yes, it will draw you into its divine aura- with an inkling of a realisation that the journey begins from within!
