- Compass439475218430 contributionsTake the Luxury Rickshaw Tour!I highly recommend this tour experience. We were in Delhi for a couple of days with a tour group but wanted to get a little closer to the real city and its people. This rickshaw tour was the perfect vehicle (pun more or less intended). Ahmer, our guide, was personable, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made 4 strangers from far away feel very safe and at home. His assistants, especially our bike rider, were equally great. We got a chance to see the incredible Jama Masjid mosque right during one of the 5 daily prayers. He told us the history and gave us his insights. We then went on a wonderful street tour of spice shops, street food booths, jewelry stores, and were introduced to people he knew and, of course, saw cows wandering the streets.Written 13 March 2025
- kerenmccord0 contributionsBest way to see Old Dehli!!We loved our tour with Neil!!! We have been in India for almost 3 weeks now, and we feel he is the best guide we have had. We learned so much!!!Written 10 March 2025
- alech1210 contributionsGreat First Experience of Old DehliWe decided to do this tour as our first experience of Dehli and were glad we did! Ahmer our guide was informative and spent time explaining all the sights of Old Dehli. The Rickshaw driver was amazing at managing the craziness of the packed narrow streets. Would thoroughly recommend.Written 9 March 2025
- Louiseshostak0 contributionsWalking tour Old DelhiAn excellent tour with a warm and friendly guide. Her knowledge of the are was fantastic and she was willing to answer all our questions and went out of her way to accomodate any requests or preferences. Can't recommend enoughWritten 3 March 2025
- Liketotravel20210 contributionsThis tour is a MUST!If you want to get a great understanding of Delhi's roots, this rickshaw tour is a MUST!! It is the BEST way to navigate the alleyways and warren of densely packed streets and rich markets of New Delhi, and to visit some key sites in the area, with knowledgeable guides and incredible drivers. Sometimes you will want to close your eyes given the nature of human and vehicular traffic in the area, but every second will be worth it. No way that as Westerners we would have been able to cover this much ground and gain so much understanding on our own. Can't say enough about our wonderful guide Ahmer; personable, smart, and really helped us understand the mutli-dimensional aspects of Old Delhi -- those that are clearly observable and others that are less so. I promise you that this is an experience you won't want to miss.Written 6 February 2025
- I4355WMstephens0 contributionsExcellent tour and very informative guideAs a family, we had a fantastic time on the rickshaw tour through Old Delhi. Our tour guide Ritu was very informative and an absolute pleasure to deal with. She also took some fantastic candid photos of us without us even noticing. Would highly recommend this activity if visiting Delhi.Written 4 February 2025
- SalBonExplorers0 contributionsTuk Tuk ride with Mosque visit, walking to a Sikh Temple.Neil was the absolute BEST as far as explaining the correct amount of information. He was prepared with shoe covers, shawls in order to see the Mosque. He also took us to a Sikh and explained about the feeding of the people. He took us for spice & tea shopping. Bought us a meal as well. He gave us pointers to use for the rest of our tours. He's very well read and speaks great English. We'd highly recommend Neil for your next city tour.Written 30 January 2025
- David G0 contributionsExciting and interestingOur pedal-rickshaw tour of old Delhi was truly an adventure as we zoomed through narrow and crowded alleys, all the while informed by Naresh about the varied shops. Our visit to the Sikh Temple was a highlight, along with a walk through the spice market. Highly recommended.Written 28 January 2025
- utee_130 contributionsOld Delhi- smell and hear it!Good guide, very friendly, interesting & authentic tour through Old Delhi. He shows you hidden areas takes you to places where tourists do not come. Good bikers!Written 19 January 2025
- dix0neve0 contributionsA fun way to explore Old Delhi! What an incredible experience! We explored the vibrant chaos of Old Delhi’s market on a rickshaw with our informative guide, Ahmer Khan. The vivid colors, bustling crowds, and tantalizing aromas of spices and incense truly captured the essence of the area. We highly recommend this tour for first-time visitors to Delhi!Written 18 January 2025
- meganbK5146JI0 contributionsSafe and fun way to navigate Old DelhiAhmer was a great tour guide. Very friendly and informative. His rickshaw drivers were amazing navigating the tiny alleys in Old Delhi where we had a terrific lunch. My teenage sons and I equally enjoyed this trip. The highlight was the Sikh temple and its cafeteria. It’s brilliant. I would 100% recommend this tour and ask for Ahmer if you can!Written 14 January 2025
- 719laurentg0 contributionsVisit of Old Dehli with AhmerWe had a wonderful time with Ahmer, who took us around in rickshaws, whilst commenting on every aspect of the old city. Fascinating. In addition we had a wonderful experience of typical Indian street food. And a visit to the spices market where we bought a number of lovely spices to cook when back at home.Written 13 January 2025
- peteraC5543CH0 contributionsA unique adventure!Having lived in India for 7 years, we thought we'd "done" the Old Delhi thing. But our cycle-rickshaw tour through the streets of Old Delhi was a new and fun adventure for us. On one street, we visited a Hindu temple, a Jain temple, a Sikh gurdwara, and then shortly thereafter, Jama Masjid, India's biggest mosque. Each step of the way, the rickshaw driver took great care of us, not only safeguarding our belongings, but with all sorts of thoughtful details, such as disposable towelettes to clean our feet (as some temples require visitors to enter barefoot), slippers for the mosque, a special hat for the gurdwara, and more. Plus the included guidebook was very thorough and provided helpful historical and contextual details. At various stops along the way, we were treated to delicious snacks and masala chai. And the tour of the spice market and the alleyways of the wedding market and the Naughara mansions in Kinari Bazaar are spectacular, and we never would have been able to see them otherwise. Highly recommended!!Written 5 January 2025
- ColleenF10160 contributionsThis is a must do!Taking a tour through Old Delhi with Ritu, WHEN IN INDIA, is an extraordinary adventure one would never have otherwise. This is a deep dive into understanding, if that is even possible, Indian culture. The intensity, the density, the sensory panorama and human motion of this ancient wonderland must be experienced to be believed. We have done the tour on two separate occasions and will definitely do again. She takes her group in separate bicycle rickshaws with headphones, so no one misses a word while she makes perfect sense of what appears as chaos. Her drivers are so considerate and attentive. Ritu clearly has a lifetime of expertise and heart connection to this magical place. My husband and I have traveled a lot, and our Old Delhi tour with Ritu ranks at the top of our list for astonishing exploration. It is a must do.Written 10 December 2024
- LK5850 contributionsGreat experience and incredible memories! We loved this tour! You really get immersed in the crowds, smells, and chaos of Old Delhi but from the comfort of a rickshaw. Neil provided excellent commentary via a headset. Our rickshaw driver heroically navigated the congested streets. The memory book at the end was a delightful surprise.Written 14 November 2024

We spent only two days in Delhi and thanks to the tour we got a very good overview of not only Delhi but also on India’s history, thanks to our guide Naresh.
More than half of the day was in Rickshaw - carrying two people in each but with guidance by a wireless headphones. We probably did not turned specialists in India or Delhi but we certainly got a good feel an wibe from our tour. It’s a miracle how many sights and impressions the guide managed to include in only 8 hours. Of course we could have spent more time in the spice market but you have to make hard choices to cover both Old Delhi and New Delhi in a day. But Naresh succeeded!

First let me mention that I had a large group of 14 friends. Accommodating them was also a task in hand. Ritu the owner did an outstanding job of organizing the tour of both Old and New Delhi. She also shared with us some excellent restaurant choices, especially Indian Accent. Her colleague Naresh's tour of New Delhi was also excellent. We had a Bollywood show at kingdom of Dreams and she made sure we arrived in time and helped us with everything. Ive been to delhi several times but she is by far the best guide in Delhi

My wife and I had a free day at the end of February and took the one day private tour. Everything went without a hitch and our tour guide Naresh was excellent. The pickup from our hotel at the airport was on time and we were dropped off back at the expected time The rickshaw tour in the morning through Old Delhi is something that should not be missed however expect to have your nerves jangled as they weave through the crowded streets. In comparison New Delhi seemed positively calm

The guides were amazing. Sorab in Delhi and Rada in Agra were the best. Sorab - Loved his company, views and also his silences, he knew what to say and when to give us space, which I think is a very good quality for a guide. And Rada - was such good company for the kids that the full day was smooth and fun without many tantrums. Thanks to the team who made the booking process so easy and for accommodating us last minute. The host Ritu even met us during our tour and welcomed us with beautiful garlands. My child was ecstatic. We did the the Agra and Delhi tour with them.

Naresh was our guide on this tour and he was absolutely fantastic- he spoke fluent english and gave us so much information about the city- the tour was completely tailored to us and we were able to decide how long we wanted to spend in both Old and New Delhi. The rickshaw was so much fun going through Old Delhi and the tour was both safe and really informative- the system that When In India tours have is great- being able to listen through an earpiece about the city as we were on the rickshaw worked so well and it made the tour very relaxed. If you want a stress free and informative way of seeing most of Delhi in one day then I cant recommend this tour enough- all the drivers, guides and staff are so friendly and look after you as well. Thank you When In India Tours!

We had the pleasure to take this tour in Jan 2019. Our guide was Saurav who was professional, polite, kind and very informative. His English and Spanish were fluent and he informed us thoroughly about history, culture and other relavent matters.
Three of us were drive to old Delhi first where we were toured in rickshaws with headphones to hear the guide. Old Delhi was vibrant and throbbing with life. We were bought parathas there at a famous spot which were delicious. We enjoyed visiting Chandani chawk, spice market, Gurudwara Bnagla Sahib, Jama mosque, etc. We were then driven to New Delhi where we saw various other major attractions.
The entrance fees to attractions and lunch were not paid by the tour company so it would be worth keeping cash with you. However, the tour was amazing and I strongly recommend it.
The best part of our tour, in my opinion, was our guide.

I went to India for work with some coworkers. Our manager booked this tour as he had done it with his wife and said it was great. The tour was amazing. Far beyond what we were expecting. Ritu was a great tour guide and knew all the places within Old Delhi. We went to a couple of shops which were very interesting and had great merchandise. We even tried some of the local street vendor food. It was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this for anyone who will be visiting Delhi.

I cannot praise the tour enough. We are a middle aged couple who enjoy walking and exploring. Our guide was amazing and spent lots of time explaining the unique sights in Old Delhi. The visit to the Sikh temple was particularly memorable, we were made to feel very welcome and although we are not particularly religious there was a feeling about the place. The spice markets were amazing and as an avid cook, there were lods of opportunity to stick up on supplies. Finally the visit to the silver smith was was very educational
