What to expect
Make your own way to meet your guide near Churchgate Railway Station in the evening. Take a short walk to Churchgate Khau Galli (food street). There, try favorite dishes like Pani Puri, Bhel Puri, Sev, and Dahi Puri. After tasting the most famous chaat of Mumbai, try the city's 'fast food' dish, Pav Bhaji, created in the 1850s for textile mill workers in Mumbai. Then try the most affordable street food of Mumbai, Vada Pav. Then cool your taste buds with a seasonal fruit shake like sitafal (custard apple) or chikoo (sapodilla). Hop in a kaali peeli (local) taxi to get to Mohammed Ali Road, a street food paradise for meat eaters that is also very popular during Ramadan. Taste dishes like Baida Roti (chicken and egg stuffed in flat bread), Seekh Kebab (minced meat grilled on a skewer), and Bun Kebab (meat tucked inside a bread roll).  Afterward, take a short walk before having desserts like Mawa Jalebi, and seasonal fruit ice cream from an ice cream shop that has been family-run for 125 years. Finish your street foodtour by taking a kaali peeli taxi back to Churchgate Railway Station.

A must do while in Mumbai😊
This was most definitely one of the must do activities while in Mumbai. Arrived in Mumbai with no knowledge of the local delicacies. This tour was an eye opener. Delicious food from quality street food stalls. Rameez was a great guide. The tour did not disappoint. Thank you.

Super Tasty and Interesting

This is a great tour for people who want to explore the city and its culinary gems. Ganesh, the engaging, informed and super easy-to-talk-with guide, took me to the food stalls at Girgaum Chowpatty, a superb Parsi restaurant close to Horniman Circle for veg pilaf, and finally to K Rustom for some delicious ice cream. A great way to spend an evening exploring the city. Highly recommended.

Winning food tour
Thanks to Ganesh for taking us around to experience the street food. Ganesh was friendly and easy to talk to and provided some great facts about the city and the food we were eating. There was no going hungry on this tour - left feeling full and satisfied. It was great to get amongst the locals and enjoy their food in a more traditional way. I would highly recommend this tour for everyone.

Ganesh met two of us for the tour by Churchgate, and it was obvious he was an experienced tour guide, and we quickly set off to our first stop. Ganesh really made the tour, he is easy, open, informative and friendly. The food choices were great, even if a bit heavy on the bread, butter and lentils, thankfully we had enough walking between the courses to try and digest some of it. The medu vada at the South Indian stall Ganesh Dosa Centre near Fashion Street were a highlight, Cannons by CST for sheer overdose of bread, butter and lentils and more butter, and a bit more butter was an artery inducing overdose of loveliness as was the K. Rustoms ice cream parlour - so many flavours - too much choice - definitely need to go back there. I'm not missing out the rest because they were unenjoyable, it's just there was so much to take in, and digest. Thankfully I had a walk back to help work some of it off but still woke up full the next day! Great opportunity, not to be missed.

YOU WON'T LEAVE HUNGRY ON THIS TOUR!
Sep 2017 • Friends
Out of all the tours we went on while in India, this tour was the most enjoyable. Our guide was very informative (not only about the food aspect of Indian cuisine, but also about life in Mumbai as well). He wasn't pushy like so many other guides were trying to sell stuff. And the best of all, he didn't even rush us during the entire tour. I sure wish I could have remembered his name because he truly needed to be recognized. I went through all the other photos here and could not find him. For some odd reason I'm thinking it was Pim. Anyhow, we met our guide in front of Burger King as stated on my Viator voucher. He introduced himself and gave a synopsis of where we would be going and the foods we were about to try. I'm sorry, but I do not remember all the names of everything we tried, but everything was tasty and delicious. Our first stop was at the train station for a grab-n-go sandwich thing many Indians eat when in a rush. We then took a train to the beach area of Mumbai where there were many different food carts. It was like a mini-city full of food carts. That's how many there were. We ate at only a couple of these places, but to be quite honest with you, there was so much food they gave us I was getting full by this point. Everything was delicious though. After this we took a taxi to the Muslim area of Mumbai. Once again, more sampling. It was here that we got a little less food history tour of Mumbai and more of a cultural tour of Mumbai. Amazing how congested and chaotic it gets there! Purely crazy, LOL! After this, our tour concluded at this small little place that makes homemade ice cream. There were like 20 different flavors to choose from. Many of which I've never heard of before. We got to order whatever and however much we wanted. That was the great thing about this tour: EVERYTHING WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE! Anyhow, this stop for ice cream was a great ending to a great few hours on this tour. If you are interested in going on this tour, and actually go on it, please don't eat anything beforehand. Trust me, you don't get sample bites here and there. You actually get plates of food on each stop. These aren't even shared plates. Each plate is yours and yours alone. I can eat a lot, but even this was a bit much for me. LOL. After this, our tour guide hailed us a taxi and brought us back to our hotel. I cannot recommend this tour enough. It was simply awesome and well worth every cent!
