      Never again Viator
We have done 2 viator tours in the last 10 days, both severely mismanaged. Mumbai temples: Gave the guide one meeting point and a different meeting point to us on making the reservation. Lost an hour, one temple already closed . Others missed the prayers. Incomplete and inadequate description of the tour on the website. There is no transport provided. You have to pay for taxis yourself. Much of it is a walking tour. They offer the tour every hour, but it is best done at 9:00 a.m. before the temple is get crowded. Very poor management. The second tour we tried to do through viator in Jodhpur, the local company did not even receive the reservation. We called the local company. They had no reservation record even when we gave them the Viator conf #. We completely missed our tour of the blue city. What a waste of time.. Viator, never again!!.

      Great food tour in Mumbai
We booked the food tour and our guide was Shrikanth. He took us to some street vendors and local restaurants, we also took a short ride on a train. He kept us engaged throughout the tour and had great knowledge of Indian cuisine. I would highly recommend this tour for any food lovers travelling to India. Thanks once again Shrikanth!

      Mumbai nearly 10 tasting tour
A family of three 2 adults, kid (9) in Mumbai February 2023. We booked the 10 tasting tour and met our guide in town who took us to various establishments to try local delicacies . First issue arose when the guide wasn’t outside the meeting point but on the opposite side of the road, luckily he found us. The tour also included a short ride on a local train which we weren’t aware of and which we all loved. We’d booked as 3 adults as a child price wasn’t available, which was fine, and as we’re not big eaters and didn’t want to waste any food so we asked for less quantities, but I was disappointed that with clearly less outlay this wasn’t compensated in other areas eg offering drinks or the offer to buy an ice cream our son asked for in which our guide specifically said this isn’t included in the price. Towards the end of the tour there was confusion over how many 10 meant and so in the end we had to cut the tour short as we had another tour planned. I don’t feel that we had full value from the tour, I didn’t feel the guide had much knowledge about the food, only the history of the venues, and wasn’t very communicative throughout. It was disappointing.

      Great experience
had an extra day in Mumbai after a business trip. I decided to try Withlocals to see if I could maximize my time there. I've always found you can see more "with a local" and it turned out I was right. Kiran was very punctual and after a brief introduction I informed him that I had already visited the Gate of India - part of his tour - but that I hadn't been able to visit the Elephanta caves. Kiran suggested that we alter our plan and include a visit to the Kanheri Caves in north Mumbai. There was a price increase for this, but this was to be expected. I appreciated his flexibility and had a marvelous visit. After that we returned to the original tour as planned and had a great time seeing the city. By the time I had to get on an airplane home I felt like I had seen much more than I would have been able to see by myself. Not only that Kiran pointed out many things along the way that only a local would know about, so you're getting a unique experience overall. I highly recommended Kiran!

      Amazing Mumbai Tour
Kiran set the bar for all of my other tours in India and none of the other three met the mark. He picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. Had a welcome gift for me - a toy tuk tuk - and an amazing fruit snack - think Mango fruit roll up but 1000x better. He showed me all around Mumbai and pointed out some aspects of the city that you wouldn’t see unless with a local. The description of his tour doesn’t do it justice! Great experience, great food, and great person!! If I ever return to Mumbai I’ll definitely book another tour with Kiran!

      Outstanding tour
Kirin is an outstanding guide with a fascinating background. As a former banker, he brings a unique, savvy, and worldly fund of knowledge to the tour experience. Kirin has a great understanding of how the city and its inhabitants function together to create what makes Mumbai unique. His enthusiasm is infectious and he delights in sharing fascinating places that it would be impossible to venture to with anyone else. Kirin will start as a guide and end as a friend.

      Perfect Host
We are expats living in Ahmedabad but still didn't have the time to visit Mumbai. When my daughter came to visit we finally planned a trip to Mumbai and it was an absolute delight! We chose Kiran to give us a tour which I really recommend as it is quite difficult to visit an Indian city by yourself. He was the perfect host and really proud of his city. He knew everything and showed us the most beautiful places in Mumbai. We drank the typical chai made by a lovely lady. Next time when my relatives come over to visit us, I'll take them to Mumbai and contact Kiran again!!

Dynamic, Informative, and fun. Great tour of Mumbai
We feel blessed to have spent a day in Mumbai with Kiran. He and his driver were waiting for us as we came off of our cruise ship and approached us with a warmth that gave us immediate confidence that we found the right tour guide. We were shown all around Mumbai at a pace that allowed for plenty questions and thoughtful answers. His love for his city is undeniable as he imparts his deep knowledge of the city's history and it's people. He keeps his groups small for the right reasons. It is a personal tour. Several degrees, historian, artist, musician... a renaissance man with a heart of gold. Mumbai is lucky to have him. Thank you for a wonderful day Kiran.

Best introduction to the real Mumbai
We were so lucky to have Kiran as our guide for 2 whole days. With his excellent driver Suresh he showed us the real Mumbai with pride and amazing knowledge. With more time we drove to the forest in the suburbs which is a large tract of natural trees and vegetation There are wild animals including aggressive monkeys, birds and also tribal villages as well as the vast Kanheri caves filled with unbelievable Bhuddist statues and carved out spaces for prayer teaching and living. A centre for Bhuddism from the 1st to 9th C amazing! A visit to the Warli tribal village to see the local art was so interesting. The city tour highlights on our second day took in the Laundry the Taj hotel and of course the Gate to India as well as churches temples the Queens necklace, Malabar Hill and the hanging gardens, the house where Ghandi stayed, now a museum. But again the highlight was masala tea at the fisherman's home right on the water. The fantastic Crawford market. Victoria station So many places. We felt we had really seen Mumbai beyond the usual tourist sites. Kiran was a wonderful guide who was so knowledgeable and rightly proud of his famous city. You will have an unforgettable experience and a wonderful introduction to Mumbai with our new friend Kiran.!Amazing!

Day with Rev. Peter was great
Enjoyed our day with Rev Peter & family. Lunch was fabulous! We were picked up at the cruise port. He drove us to the village he lives in. Went to his home for lunch. We meet the family. My husband is the cook at home. So he enjoyed watching the preparing of the food and cooking. We enjoyed hearing his story and all of his children who are grown and have careers except the youngest who is still in college. Thanks Rev Peter for a wonderful day & truly enjoyed meeting the family. All the best to you and your family.

Best tour ever in the city of Mumbai with Kiran
This was one of our best tours ever. We've traveled around the world and have used WithLocals many times, but this tour with Kiran was the best ever. We were docked at the cruise port overnight and we met Kiran as soon as we arrived. He was waiting right outside the gate as promised, which really makes its comforting when coming to a new country. We were off to a great start, and spent the next eight hours taking in all that this incredible city has to offer. Mumbai was nothing like we expected, and in one day, we saw mor then we ever had expected. What was really nice too, was Kiran had a driver with him, so we were able to hop out at a site, and he was right there waiting when we we done. Stopping at the Railway station first was a great move, and then on to some of the best sites in Mumbai. At every stop we were explained the history and details of each, and were fascinated with the passion and knowledge that Kiran has. He knows so many people as well, even in these crowded places, which makes visiting these places much easier. Some of our favorites were Mahatma Gandhi's home, the old Morgan David Synagogue, the open food market with food stands galore, and the Overall Best stop was in the fishing village among the slums, located directly on the beach, and having Masala Chai tea with a local family there. PRICELESS ! You would never get to do anything like this on a normal tour or without someone like Kiran. If I could have booked him for another day, I gladly would have paid him double. It was that good. If you are looking for your best tour ever, this is one not to miss. WithLocals never disappoints, and we love using them wherever possible. This tour was a Ten. Just do it! City Tour of Kiran is a must for the city of Bombay!
Kiran Chirayan was a great guide during our visit to Bombay on May 2019. His response time was quick even before we arrive in mumbai. As promised Kiran met us at our hotel with his driver at the agreed time and we set off for an interesting city tour. His knowledge about the city and country is vast and have answers for every questions... I have to say this, you will find the difference between a passionate guide and a tour-Guide when your with him.. He never let us alone by our own during any part of the tour while some other guides at some attractions just leave their guest to their own to go read and comeback what's written there. Where as we had a walking commentary all the time at every place. . In the beginning I was not sure if that's how the system works or not in this city... We did visit the major landmarks like Kotachi wadi - Portuguese settlement Mani bhavan, Jaïn temple, Story of tiffin wala - ask Kiran for his real life story.. Dhobi ghat, Crawford market, Victoria terminus railway station, Leopold restaurant, Taj Mahal palace Gate way of India, Rajabhai towers By the end of this tour Kiran became our friend. (Being part of withlocals family,& we being based out in Dubai as hosts , it was good to know other city hosts as well. I highly recommend withlocals Mumbai and Kiran as your guide,) you will never be disappointed.. For firsttimers - keep the traffic in mind if you are moving around by yourself for any walking tour... Kind regards Jose Gomez

Kiran was an outstanding guide and host. Good English and very knowledgeable about Cochin and Mumbai. Took us to interesting places off the beaten toursist track as well as the major sites. Recommended excellent local venues for genuine Indian food at lunch time. Car and driver also excellent with air conditioning. Would definitely contact Kiran again on future visits to this part of the world. Very highly recommended!

We had been to Mumbai 2 years ago and wanted to see some different sites . Kiran has the day planned out well . We visited Kenhari caves which is outside if the city. Buddhist caves from first century. Located in a national park outside of Mumbai. Interesting stops along the way including Dharavi slums (although we had a more extensive tour last trip ) . Other stops included dhobi ghat (our request) . Overall a good day and an enthusiastic guide.
