- Getaway505674666840 contributionsAmazing tour! Our guide Yara was amazing! This tour was so much fun and we got to taste so much chocolate and learn about the entire process. I would definitely recommend this tour if you were in the area. The area is beautiful - set high above a river with lots of birds and great scenery.Written 3 December 2024
- jdW6385EE0 contributionsFantastic experience! We went as an adult family of 4, on a Tuesday morning at 9 am. We were welcomed in by Carlos, in the reception area. He was extremely attentive and helpful. Whilst we waited for our tour to begin, Carlos served us fresh fruit juice. Our tour guide was Cesar. He was exceptional! He taught us all about the cultivation of coffee and cocoa trees, the different processes/steps taken to make coffee and chocolate, all the cultural relevance and history of each. He included us in everything, by requesting volunteers for the different processes involved. He made everything fun by playing a musical instrument whilst he encouraged us to move our hips whilst doing the different activities. There was much laughter and fun had by all! We were served a delicious lunch that was prepared from scratch, with lovely fresh produce from the area. Definitely would recommend this to others.Written 13 November 2024
- emilynJ6966BX0 contributionsGreat tripGreat tour, very informative. Our guide was brilliant. Very engaging and funny. Got to see around the farm and the process. Then got to make our own bits of chocolate and try coffee. If your lucky you might even see a sloth.Written 8 November 2024
- 873julef0 contributionsUnique recommendable experience! It was a very well organised tour. From the harvest to the chocolate production we could learn a lot about the cocoa on the small plantation. Each stage of the bean was associated with a tasting. We liked it very much that we could participate interactively. Our guide Nelson was super nice and was able to answer all our questions. It was a lot of fun so we highly recommend participating in this tour! :)Written 7 November 2024
- nicolevU3416CB0 contributionsIncredible Coffee and Chocolate Tour!WOW! Caesar, you were INCREDIBLE! My husband and I had such a wonderful experience. We learned so much about the history of making coffee and chocolate. We were able to pick a cacao pod off of the tree at the plantation, crack it open, and taste the seed! We learned about the fermentation, drying, and cracking open process. We made our own chocolate bon bons and drinking chocolate by cracking open the cacao seeds, grinding, and adding sugar and other toppings! Hands down the best tour! Highly recommend! Caesar was so fun and personal.Written 1 November 2024

We had such an AMAZING day here. We started with the chocolate tour followed by the cooking class and it was all outstanding. Well worth the time and money. The tour was so informative and the cooking so much fun. We made tortillas and empanadas and they were so good. A must do when in the area. If you have the time, do them both.

This is a must stop tour! Cesar was amazing at accommodating our family of 8 for a tour. The tour was very engaging and educational for both kids and adults. Cesar’s energy, knowledge, and friendliness made for a great tour. The chocolate and coffee were outstanding. Probably some of the most delicious chocolate I’ve had. The kids were entertained and engaged the entire time. So much fun and delicious! Definitely a high point of our travels in La Fortuna.

This was exactly what I was hoping for in a chocolate tour. We got to walk around the farm and see how cacao is grown, as well as seeing the actual pods on the trees! We saw a variety of edible, ornamental, and medical plants, and got to try raw cacao seeds and herbs directly from the plants. We had the opportunity to grind fermented and roasted beans to create the basis for "The drink of the gods" and we had the chance to pick toppings to put into a chocolate bonbon. (Red pepper and salt, and red pepper and coconut were both EXCELLENT)
After the tour we had lunch in the cafeterĂa there and it was so delicious. Some of the best food we've had here. The whole experience was a dream and I'm so glad we went.

This tour was amazing! Miguel was our guide, he was knowledgeable and funny! We saw lots of wild life in the farm, learned a lot about the chocolate making process and were impressed by the farm and how eco friendly it was!
Making the chocolate was the funnest part, Miguel made it very fun and made sure we learned about the history of chocolate and that our chocolate tasted great!
Extremely awesome tour, would definitely recommend!

My girlfriend that was visiting me from Brazil and I went to Eden Organic Farm for a chocolate tour while we were in La Fortuna. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The tour was both fun and extremely informative. Our wonderful guide, Cesar, went over the cacao growing, manufacturing process as well as the historical aspects of the cacao plant in Latin America. We sampled delicious cacao drinks and chocolate we got to make ourselves. Lovely tour and highly recommended! Also they had a lot of handmade organic soap and jewelry in the reception. We had the chance to meet Esteban, the owner, who shared with us some extra history about the farm! I would advise anyone to visit this place. The farm had sloths, many birds, and a beautiful river in the back. As a final highlight we were welcome to bring along “Luna” our dog!!

There were only two of us and yet our guide Nelson gave us great information and interesting stories about the cultivation of the cocoa bean and the emergence of the chocolate culture.
The highlight was the production of chocolates and the tasting of a spicy cocoa drink.
A nice, relaxed tour.
