Initially we booked with Paradise through Get Your Guide. An hour or so after booking, I received a WhatsApp from Dinia at Paradise telling me they had my information but that, without payment, they could not confirm the booking. I sent her proof of payment and the confirmation from Get Your Guide. She told me to cancel with GYG and to pay them directly as she claimed GYG would not pay them. I encouraged her to liaise with GYG but she refused, leaving me to contact them. GYG assured me of my booking and said they would liaise with Paradise to resolve any issues. I gave Dinia the name of the contact at GYG and wished her well in sorting things out. We arrived in La Fortuna four weeks later. My booking still showed as active and I had not had any cancellation message from Dinia. I sent a WhatsApp the night before our activity confirming the pick up point. I received a reply on the morning of our activity telling me that Paradise had no record of our booking; I pointed out that this was not the case considering our prior correspondence. The attitude was very much that it's not their problem and telling me I need to "actually pay" - as though I was at all responsible for the clearly still ongoing issue they had with GYG. I am assuming that had I not sent a message the night before, we'd have never known our activity wasn't taking place until we were left at the pick up point. Being the day of the activity, all other providers were full and so we had no alternative but to attempt to find a solution. GYG responded immediately and took the time to call Paradise - who were not prepared to budge. GYG then agreed to refund us so that we could book and pay directly with Paradise. We confirmed this with Paradise who informed us at 8:09 that we could join if we reached their office before 9am. Our hotel is outside of La Fortuna and so it took a bit of time to arrange a taxi and arrive there but we got there with two minutes to spare...only to be informed the trip had left without us. Dinia didn't apologise or at least pretend to be slightly bothered; she said we could go later on, around 11:10. We decided to accept so paid and then headed into town to pass the time. Before we left she told us that the pick up would actually be at 12. Annoying to have another change but the matter was out of our hands. At 9:07 she sent us the pick up location. Suddenly, at 9:22 I received another message telling me to be at the pick up point (the Catholic church) for 10:05am. We had just ordered coffee and now had to rush our drinks and walk over to the pick up point. I asked for the name of the church and was told it's in a park which wasn't overly helpful either. Thankfully, the company who took us on the tour - who were outsourced - were brilliant (&I have left them a deserving, positive review). They even dropped us back to our hotel without a fuss (something Paradise also told us would not be possible). I would strongly advise anyone looking to book in La Fortuna to avoid Paradise Travel. There are many reputable groups to choose from and this, unfortunately, is not one of them.

Dinia was excellent!! She did a great job helping us figure out what we wanted to do! Pamela was incredible in helping us after we lost our vouchers. All in all this company was awesome!!! We can’t wait to experience these adventures!!
