Family of five, kids ages 10-14, had a great experience rafting with Georgo down the River. Probably the highlight of our whole trip! Our guide was kind and encouraging to our youngest who was nervous. Georgo also kept it fun and exciting for the older brothers. The fresh fruit was delightful and seeing wildlife along the way a bonus. We highly recommend this tour company and our great guide.

Jorge’ is the best guide ever! He took our class 2-3 rafting trip to another level with his energy. I highly recommend this adventure! We had six in our boat and one who could not paddle and we still had an amazing time and experience.

What a blast! We had an amazing time in Costa Rica and this was one of the top highlights! WAVE Rafting is amazing. They made such a fun day for us. Our host Jairo was hilarious and kept everyone smiling. Our guide Jorge was the best! He was so good with my kids. We are definitely doing this again. Thanks for the incredible teams at Pure Trek and Wave Expeditions, our family had one of the most fun and exciting experiences ever! Our family of 5 started the day with waterfall repelling with the Pure Trek team. They made the experience so fun and even though some of us were a little nervous, the guides all made us feel confident and really have an amazing experience! After that, we did the water rafting with Wave Expeditions. They thought of every detail to make it such a special and memorable day. Our rafting guide, Moises, was the absolute best! I can’t say enough good things about him and the rest of the team. After our adventures, we had a beautiful Costa Rican lunch at an organic farm restaurant, and experienced a traditional coffee and sugar cane demonstration with samples and lots of laughs. From the drivers, to the guides to the photographers, every person at this experience went out of their way to make it a very fun and memorable day! Thank you! Highly recommend for your family while in La Fortuna, Costa Rica!

It was my first time rafting and I was in good hands with my guide Juan Rosales. He kept us safe and upright. He also pointed out cool wildlife along the way.

This experience was fantastic, the slightly more difficult section was exciting with the lesser waves meaning you are able to relax a bit and take in the scenery. You may even see some wildlife, we were lucky to see a Sloth, two Iguanas and a pair if Toucan. I highly recommend this trip. If you can get Momo as your guide you are guaranteed a blast.

My husband and I just returned from a 10-day trip to Costa Rica. Our first excursion was with Wave Rafting where we left from La Fortuna and spent 1/2 day on the Balsa River for Class 2 and 3 rapids. Carlos was our guide, and he was excellent! The instruction before we got in the raft was very helpful as this was our first white water rafting experience. The rapids were exhilarating, and we enjoyed jumping in the river and floating during the calm times. The watermelon and pineapple break on the shore of the river was nice, and a celebratory beer/drink was provided as we boarded the shuttle after the river rafting. We were then taken to a family farm to experience a typical Costa Rican lunch buffet (delicious) and then given a sugar cane demonstration (how liquid was extracted). This was a super fun way to start our many adventures in Costa Rica.

We had class II & III white water rafting booked with included transfers. They picked us up from our hotel in arenal and we transferred to the river. We stopped at a toilet on the way as there wasn’t one at the drop off (literally the side of the river). This took just under 2 hours to get there. We entered the river at approx 12 midday. We were given instructions in the shuttle on the way there once we’d picked up all the guests. There was about 40 of us altogether that day. I would recommend putting lots of sun cream on (esp during dry season it’s super sunny) and wearing quick drying clothes plus swim suit or many just wore a swim suit. I did wear a T-shirt and sports shorts which were quick drying and gave extra sun protection as you’re going to get wet and be in the sun for 2 hours. Also recommend water shoes. Helps you get down to the river and provide some feet protection. Anyway after all the instructions on what to do if you fall out etc etc and we’d been kitted with life jacket, helmet and paddle we walked down to the river. We were put in groups of 4-6 people and assigned a guide. Our guide was Jorgani and he was fantastic. We felt super safe in his hands and he helped us to all feel like we were doing the right things (although who knows if we were really haha). He got us acclimatised on the water and allocated us seats based on weight and we set off. After a little rafting where we got used to it and followed the instructions we’d been taught in the van we stopped briefly. He asked how we were all doing and gave us some encouragement. It was really good and we all felt good and were having fun so once all the group was ready off we went again in our little entourage of 7 boats. There was also someone who was in a kayak for checking the safety of the group and someone else taking photos of everyone. At the end we could buy the photos. They were $40 for all of them and sorted by boat. We shared the cost with our other boat mates which seemed sensible. We were on the river for 2 hours with a short fruit break halfway. No toilets till the end and then there were showers. They brought your belongings you left on the van and you could dry off (they supplied a towel) and put dry clothes on. From there we drove back to La Fortuna and had lunch and a small talk on sugar cane. Seemed a bit random but I think it was part of where we had the lunch. The lunch was very nice and filling and after they drove us back to our hotel stopping off for everyone on the way. We made some great friends on the tour and loved every minute. The rapids were just the right level for us of thrilling but manageable and fun. We didn’t feel in danger and I didn’t come out of the boat. A couple people did but it was certainly not the norm until the parts of the river where you could swim. I would thoroughly recommend it! Thanks Jorgani!!!

We did the river rafting with Wave on Feb 24. It was an amazing experience with so much fun. It was thrilling . Keegan was the best ! Lots of instruction with laughter. Would definitely go again! Thank you. We also had lunch at the farm after the rafting, delicious beyond delicious! Thank you again.

This was so fun! We had a fantastic raft guide, Momo. He pointed out lots of birds and other wildlife, and we saw a momma sloth with its baby! If you're a more adventurous rafter and want an exciting trip that includes tricks like spinning your raft through the rapids, Momo is the best!

We had a fantastic experience. Erick was our guide and he was very good even though he said his English wasn't very good it was fine and we felt very safe. We found it such fun and we would highly recommend this company. From collecting us from our hotel to dropping off it was so well organised. We even had fruit and drinks on the river back and then a stop to have lunch and we even saw how they made moon shine. Definitely use this company and if we'd had time we would have done it again.

Absolutely wonderful trip. So well looked after. We were probably the oldest there being 65 and 64 respectively but we were made so welcome. Our guide was fantastic and made sure we felt save whist pushing us outside our comfort zone. Then a beers at the end followed by lunch was a perfect way to finish the adventure To me it is probably one of the best trips I have done.

What an absolute hoot! A really brilliant day out on the Saraquipui river with Wave Adventures. Picked up from my hotel and on the hour long drive Carlos pointed out many sites of interest and gave a safety briefing so that we were ready to go once we got to the river. We were allocated into small teams with a guide and I was lucky enough to join Team Christopher, who got us all into the swing of things with some practice and got us acclimatised to the refreshing river. Then off we went - about 2 hours rafting with a break midway for great pineapples and melon. The rapids were really great fun and Christopher had us laughing all the way down, alongside instructions to paddle forward, backwards, lean in or get down. It was a shame when it was over and we got a towel at the changing place, option for a drink (Imperial of course) and a short drive for local lunch. A really wonderful, adrenaline fuelled day - I would do it again tomorrow!

This was our second time rafting in Costa Rica and we had a fantastic time. We rafted the class IV and III rapids. Our guide, Justin, was excellent and did an outstanding job navigating us through some narrow areas. From the booking experience, to check-in, to the safety briefing, to our time on the water, we had nothing but a positive experience with everyone at Wave Rafting. We would absolutely recommend them.

We rafted on the Balsa river and had a great adventure. You don't have much time once you are on the river to have a warm up for this raft trip. The beginning of the river is rough and you have to be ready for the rapid start, but the guide will get you going quickly and the rest of the trip is really fun.
