- IsabellaSophia970 contributionsBrilliant day tripSantos and Jaime have outdone themselves on this trip. They told us interesting facts about Costa Rica on the way there, they made sure our belongings were safe all the time and were always at the right place to pick us up and drop us off whilst we were transitioning from activity to activity. Brilliant day, highly recommend this one especially for adventure seekers!Written 30 November 2024

They were very professional but very fun and super informative. We saw a lot of wildlife in the park and Alejandro had so much information about the area, animals, plant and trees. The park with the waterfall and hot springs was very nice and lunch was fantastic. The start time is early but it’s so worth it!! Pura Vida!Written 29 November 2024

The Ziplining was one of the more diverse experiences I had and even though the rapids were intense, the guides did a great job making sure we were safe. - meep_boii060 contributionsAmazing!Eddie was our guide. You can tell he's very experienced and cares about both his horses and his riders. We saw many monkeys, birds, and lizards during our ride, and he also showed us the Guanacaste and mango trees. The land is beautiful and the horses are well trained. They respond well to both experienced and beginner riders. Eddie even gave us the opportunity to gallop along certain parts of the beach. All of us had an amazing time! My only critique would be the absence of helmets. No matter how well trained the horse is or how experienced the rider is, everyone should wear a helmet. Gracias por todo Eddie, nos vemos otra vez algĂşn dĂa!Written 28 November 2024

- 355bjb0 contributionsGreat Costa Rican adventure! We had an absolutely fantastic experience on the full-day tour with Santos and our driver, Diego! From the moment we were picked up right in front of Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo, everything went smoothly. We booked the tour the night before, and our accommodations were confirmed immediately, which was incredibly convenient. The van was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, which made the journey a breeze. Both guides were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. The horse ride was a highlight—it actually went longer than expected, and we loved it! It was a fun, scenic ride, though we did notice the horses were kept in somewhat cramped conditions. The zip line experience was exhilarating, with multiple lines crossing over a raging river between massive rock walls, making it feel even more exciting and scenic. We were initially supposed to do tubing, but it was canceled due to strong currents from recent rain. Instead, we were offered the option to hike to a beautiful waterfall and swim in the natural pool below, which we absolutely loved. Afterward, we joined the rest of the group at the hot springs, which were relaxing, though the mud did have a strong smell! The pools, however, were clean and soothing. A special mention goes to the buffet lunch—it was fresh, tasty, and a real highlight. There was also an option to purchase alcohol with lunch, which was a nice touch. On our way back, we had the opportunity to stop at a fantastic gift shop near Liberia airport, which had some of the best souvenirs we've seen. Throughout the tour, there were plenty of bathroom breaks and time to buy food or coffee, which made the day feel well-paced. The whole experience was well worth the price—around $400 for two people, including all activities, food, drinks, souvenirs, and professional photos. We highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun, organized, and memorable adventure in Costa Rica!Written 23 November 2024
- I5994KNlindal0 contributionsToo rushedWhat we saw of Nicaragua was cool but we were rushed in everything we did. They gave us 35 minutes to shop. Some people were upset we never stopped again to shop. Most of the day was spent driving. Most things we saw was from inside the van. I thought we would get out and walk around and go in buildings and churches but no that didn't happen. To spend $236 a person and waste an entire day driving and being rushed through things I would probably have to say I don’t recommendWritten 22 November 2024
- margareteH7398HI0 contributionsBeautiful and relaxingWe had a lovely time. Ivan, our guide was super fun and had tons of information about the area, history and wild life. The mangrove trees and estuary were beautiful. Highly recommend for a relaxing tour.Written 20 November 2024

I’ll start this off by saying the national parks are awesome, the Rio Celeste park has a bunch of different hikes! You can’t swim at that water fall :(, but all of that being said; you can do this entire adventure much cheaper if you don’t get a guide. The only thing included that they provide (which you paid for) is the lunch. Even that got messed up. The price to get into the parks is substantially cheaper if you go on your own, the trails are very maintained and super easy to navigate. The park entrance fees are no more than 15$ and the guide drags one hike out to be an hour and a half when you could do all the hikes on your own in the same amount of time. Maybe it was just our guide that made it obvious that it is a scam but highly recommend visiting all the parks on your own! Do your research :)

We took a private tour with Alex and it was awesome! He was right on time picking us up, the car was very comfortable and he made sure to personalize our stops based on what we wanted. He changed up the schedule a little from the program (asking us first) to ensure we beat the rain, tourist rush, and was able to explore and take pictures all to ourselves without the crowds. He even took great pictures of us. I would highly suggest bringing small bills as the tour only provides a driver, you will be guided by others along the way and they expect small tips.

Unfortunately, you feel like herded cattle throughout this entire excursion. It is a very long day, most of which is spent on the bus due to the fact that you leave from the Tamarindo area which is not close to the desired points of interest at all. We were being rushed through every single stop and would get frustrated sighs from the tour guide whenever folks needed to use a restroom, change for swimming in the waterfall, etc. as they are trying to keep to a very tight, near impossible timeframe. It mostly felt like we were being brought through these areas for quick photo opps instead of to see, learn, and enjoy. I strongly recommend that if you are in a group of family/friends you rent a car for the day instead - it will be cheaper and much, much more comfortable, not to mention you can do things at your own pace. The folks we saw at these sites who'd taken their own vehicles looked much happier and more comfortable than us. If you do however choose to go with this excursion, ensure that you have proper rain gear and towels as it is very likely you get drenched when you visit the rain forest to see the second waterfall and you will be extremely uncomfortable in a maxed out bus if you are wet and cramped for the rest of the day.

My fiancé and I booked a private all day excursion for $500. We waiting outside our hotel for over an hour and our private shuttle never arrived. I called the day before to confirm that we were going and even sent four emails the day before asking for the vendor to confirm the pick up time. Every email I sent they said it was confirmed and that the details would be sent soon. They never came. Disappointed!
Then when I called to ask where in the world the shuttle was they said there was a miscommunication. They offered me a sunset cruise which totaled $230 which is $270 less than what I paid. Unsatisfied

Booked the trip from Tamarindo, a long drive but our guide Gustavo Ramirez was a great source of knowledge to pass the time between stops, from Costa Rican history to information on local ecology. Once there, he was a great source of information on the local Flora and fauna, having degrees in ecology and a lot of field experience. Personally very interested in local birds, he was able to show us some we normally would not see due to the volume of tours and time of day. Highly recommend the tour and can't say anything better about Gustavo. 6/5.

The trip there and during the 3 tours was very good, Jorge is excellent as a tour guide and it was a well paced experience. The trip home after the last tour, however, was absolute hell. We were driven for the first 90 minutes and then had to transfer shuttles to a diff group with diff guide and driver. There was a large family in the shuttle and the guide acted like it was a private party shuttle for just this family with music blasting based on whatever they wanted to hear, the guide messing around with the interior lights to make them look like strobe lights, and everyone acting like a pile of drunks. Then the guide, without asking any other family onboard, stopped 2x without permission. First it was to drive to pick up an additional driver at his house, then he had the shuttle stop at a grocery store for 45 minutes for this same family while the rest of us sat there in a parking lot…again, we had no idea what was going on because he was only talking to the people in the front row with complete disregard for everyone else. What could have been a 2.5 hour trip back took over 5 hours (14.5 hours total for the day) with all of us exhausted from the day in the heat and hiking up a volcano, plus my young daughter was battling motion sickness trying to rest with music blasting and the interior lights flashing . Even though the other guides introduced themselves, this guide refused to give his name as we got off, as he finally realized he had just royally screwed up. I would give the tour 5 stars and less than zero for the trip home, unbelievably inappropriate and disrespectful.

The perfect medley of everything that makes Costa Rica unique and spectacular. We felt wonderful hospitality from our tour guide, Jorge, who was by our side the entire day providing clear and insightful information about Costa Rican culture and nature.
The tour was well organized with frequent stops for refreshments and restrooms. The vehicle was comfortable with AC, seatbelts, and Latin music. I would recommend bringing Gravol or similar for those prone to motion sickness- the roads wind through the mountains and the terrain can be difficult at times. Our "need for speed" driver Didier expertly navigated it all.
Bring a towel and a change of clothes, there are two opportunities to swim in fresh waters. Wear comfortable shoes, there is plenty of walking involved. Bring bug spray, the mosquitoes show no mercy.
Overall, a perfect introduction to the land of Costa Rica and an unforgettable experience to add to your trip.

We went hiking here last year and had no problem buying tickets at the counter, so we thought that would be our experience this time as well...... WRONG! Now you need to buy your tickets online. They say there is wifi available, but it didn't work for a single person who tried. There are some men outside who will buy tickets for you for a few extra bucks, or you can go to the restaurant across the street and get their wifi with purchase. You also need your ID number to purchase a ticket. It was just such a hassle and took us so long to get access which was very frustrating since it was so easy last time.
Once we finally made it inside, the walks were beautiful. They were not long, but there were a lot of stairs so it was fairly challenging! We saw a few people wearing sandals, but I would recommend real shoes. The waterfall and the area where the rivers meet were amazing. We saw a really cool green snake and a couple of toucans.
I'm not saying you shouldn't go here, but make sure you prepare.

I need to write this review in 2 sections.
1. Our guide Ivan was amazing. He did everything he could to make this an amazing trip, and he was very informative throughout the whole trip.
The activities and locations were amazing and breathtaking as well. I recommend that you make sure to do these while you are in Costa Rica.
2. The transfer/ transportation of this trip was not fun. There were too many stops to pick up people and or transfer them to other buses. Many of these stops we had to wait 15-20 minutes for the other vehicle to show up. Throw in the horrible traffic, and this makes for a very long and tiring day of commuting, so just be aware of this before booking.

Be prepared for a full day of driving. We were picked up at the Riu Palace and then picked up other guests along the way before making our way. We stopped for breakfast. We would recommend that people eat a good breakfast because for us anyway lunch was closer to 4 PM. We enjoyed the day very much and the lunch was terrific! Our guide was great and we enjoyed swimming at the waterfall and in the river. Water shoes and a rain jacket would be handy. Even when you think there's no way it will rain!

Depending on which company you book with, you can email them and ask if they will pick you up from your location, of what is closest. It might be an extra cost. All the tours we took picked people up all along the coast From Tamarindo to Potrero and maybe further? I can't remember how far up the coast, but you can definitely ask the company you are booking with
