About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- melissahE4557OQ0 contributionsHighly Recommend! We used this service on our honeymoon to take us to and from the Liberia Airport to our destination in Santa Teresa. Marvin made the instructions to find the driver very clear and we had no issues upon arrival. Our driver, Jeremy, was awesome! He was very accommodating to when we needed to stop and was friendly. It was quite a long drive and we were able to learn a lot about Costa Rica from him which was an added plus! I highly recommend using this service!Written 9 September 2024
- Wanderer337353478950 contributionsTouring Costa RicaShowtime Tamarindo made our tours with Jeremy flawless. The knowledge he had of Costa Rica, as well as his amazing personality made these tours even more enjoyable. We booked Jeremy for a few private tours and would do it again if we go to Tamarindo. As a vegan couple, Jeremy even found a place for us to enjoy and the food that was part of the tour was catered to our needs. Please don't hesitate to call them and ask for Jeremy!Written 29 August 2024
- ZjieB0 contributionsAn adventureThis was the perfect tour. Especially the first part to the Leona waterfall. The hike was nice and our kids loved traversing and wading through the river, ultimately leading to the nice waterfall. The tour was arranged by Showtime Tamarindo and they did a great job. I would definitely recommend them and this tour.Written 5 August 2024
- geralde2640 contributionsBrazil Pantanel - $50,000 for riding in a boat and sitting in a truck. Buyer Beware!Rated 1 out of 5 stars Updated 4 minutes ago Verified Extremely Disappointing/Misleading Guide spent all of the tour time chasing Jaguars and Giant Anteaters. Expedition was advertised as an opportunity to enjoy/see/experience the animal/bird/plant diversity of the World's Largest Wetlands. Guide did not take time for guests to see/photograph the many different birds, animals, plants. Instead, spent three days running up and down the river looking for Jaguars. Then spent the final three days driving up and down the same bumpy dirt roads looking for Giant Anteaters. When guide was asked if we could spend some time looking for other animals/birds/plants Guide snapped back and said "Look at your itinerary. We are looking for Giant Anteaters." (Looking at itinerary there is no mention of Giant Anteaters). Guide then said "You don't have to like me! You should have booked a private guide so YOU could see what YOU wanted to see WHEN YOU wanted to see it!!!" Needless to say - I was speechless! (I am glad to forward a copy of the "Itinerary" and you can see for yourself how Nat Habitat advertises expedition. Finally, when Guide was asked if she had ever seen Giant Anteaters eating at a termite nest, Guide said "No." When asked if she knew how termites constructed the many giant termite nests throughout the Pantanel Guide responded, "I don't know." End of Conversation!!! Postscript: Thank you Nat Hab for the BOILERPLATE Acknowledgement and Pseudo-Apology. Please note this is THE SAME APOLOGY WORD-FOR-WORD that you offered my wife after her review several weeks. Your lack of personal/individual attention to your guest/clients is obvious - from this BOILERPLATE apology to your guide's herd-mentality in conducting an underwhelming exploration of the Pantanel. Your promise of hikes were actually only short walks on the Eco Lodges. As Nat Hab's Guide said - "You should hire a Private Guide so YOU can see what YOU want when YOU want it." That would be money well-spent! - debbiemE2825DN0 contributionsAwesome experience! We were extremely happy with Marvin and Jeremy! They were so accommodating and took us all around Coco to see amazing sights. They took us to La Fortuna and picked us up from Monteverde. Truly can’t say enough about their kindness, promptness and knowledge. They made our time Costa Rica incredible. Use Showtime Tamarindo you will love your experience.Written 7 March 2024
- 670blainew0 contributionsBest guide ever Juan CarlosJuan Carlos and Jose were excellent guides and ambassadors of Costa Rica and its rainforests. Juan Carlos was more excited to see the animals and plants then any other guide I have used in the past. Truly infectious attitude.Written 1 March 2024
- tavidar20170 contributionsGreat ExperienceThe tour was very nice. Marvin and the driver were extremely nice, courteous and considerate. When the areas weren't safe he worked with us to reschedule while we were still in town. All of the site tour guides were also very nice and welcoming. The hikes to the 1st location were an 8/10 difficulty level. Mostly because it had been raining every day and we jad to swim thru parts of the river. The other hikes 2 were 3/10 and short. We had 3 people in our group who don't workout at all and they did the longer hike, they were just sore the next few days. I also appreciated someone was always with the locked van, incase you had to keep your personal items in it. They kept us safe. Note: you will be wet for the first several hours, bring large towels and a dry set of clothes to change into. Marvin had several places available for us to change if needed. I also recommend canceling or rescheduling if it's raining. Marvin has other tours to choose from. My group and I really enjoyed this tour. If we go back I plan to book another with Marvin.Written 14 November 2023
- Terri S0 contributionsIncredible Tour!We booked a private tour through Showtime and were lucky enough to have Sosa as our tour guide. He was a friendly and wonderful companion to our group of four adults and four children (ages 7,7,8, and 9). He made sure we were comfortable and stopped whenever necessary to accommodate the needs of our group. He also made suggestions along the way (like stopping at a bakery - yum!). We started our day with a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Next, we proceeded to a rainforest tour where Sosa set us up with a very knowledgeable guide who helped us spot sloths, frogs, and birds. As the day progressed, it became rainy in the area we were in. Sosa advised us that our original plans probably weren't the best options with the current weather, and he advised us on alternative excursions. While we were touring the rainforest, Sosa went out of his way making phone calls and other arrangements for us so that when we were finished, we could seamlessly move on to the next activity. He was able to get us to another area where we were able to river tube (MY FAVORITE THING THAT WE DID IN COSTA RICA) and checkout hot springs. Despite spending many hours with us, he was still willing to take us to a souvenir shop on the way home. One of the perks of booking a private tour is that you have more flexibility for your group, but Sosa went out of his way to make sure that we had THE perfect day. Thank you Sosa for our favorite tour in Costa Rica!!!Written 6 August 2023
- Deanna K0 contributionsBest adventure with the most exciting tour guides! The guide who took us through the first waterfall jungle adventure was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the Costa Rica terrain. From the moment we got out of the shuttle, we were lead onto a truck and the adventure began! This is not your grandmas waterfall tour- this is the real deal!Written 24 July 2023
- rlacy25010 contributionsA MUST TOURThis was such an amazing day I got to spend with my friends. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and we had the best tour guide Estevan! If there’s one thing you should do in Costa Rica its this tour! Loved we got picked up and dropped off at the hotel and had the entire van to ourselves. The lunch was fantastic. A couple of tips: bring towels, extra pair of shoes and clothes ( best time to change is at the last stop as you’ll be done swimming). Don’t forget BUG SPRAY! Prepare for a decent workout on the hike it’s about a 2.5 mile hike and LOTS of stairs when going back up. Worth it but it can be challenging for people. Lastly bring water! Our tour guide was so fantastic he stopped 2 times for us to stock up on water and snacks (you do spend a good chuck driving) but he also had an ice chest of water for us. Overall this tour is great and worth the price ! Thank You Estevan for such an amazing day!!!!Written 30 June 2023
- meaganm7680 contributionsThis tour made for the best day of our vacation!!This tour is absolutely AMAZING!!! Our guide, Estabon, was so informative and accommodating for my family and I the whole trip. Best day of our vacation by far. 10/10 recommend!Written 21 May 2023
- leslieaC587DJ0 contributionsFamily trip to Costa RicaAbsolutely AWESOME!!! Greatly exceeded our expectations! Our Guide, Estaban(I called him Enrique😂and he kindly went along with it) was perfect - Engaging, informative, fun, patient and kind - he really went above and beyond ( made sure we were prepared and took extra time to buy us fresh mangoes and take us to the pharmacy as well) Breathtaking waterfalls, some to view and some we got to jump off cliff into! We saw a baby sloth up close - so amazing! Saw spectacular frogs, birds, snakes, hummingbirds, butterflies, cicadas, cacao and coffee trees, papaya, mangoe, lime, and banana trees. Trip of a lifetime....highly recommend 👍🌴😎Written 28 March 2023
- Amdecrist0 contributionsSosa is the best tour guideHighly recommend. My family and I recently went on a tour with Sosa. You could say I went to Costa Rica primarily for the sloths. I was crying when Sosa found one I could barely see far up in a tree with the use of binoculars and a strategic squinting technique. Sosa didn’t give up, he found another more visible in a tree that wasn’t as high. He stood me in front of the tree with my back to it so id search for nothing and I’d be surprised when I turned around. No binoculars or squinting needed- surprised indeed. I saw my sloth. Of course I kept crying. Best experience.Written 20 March 2023
- Kim D0 contributionsTrip of a lifetimeOur guide, Sosa was amazing from the start! Got to quickly know our family & what our expectations were for the trip. He stopped along the way to give us the opportunity to photograph monkeys & birds native to the area. He gave my daughters the experience of a life time in spotting many sloths hidden in the trees and even one crossing the highway! He was patient & kind, answering all of our questions! Highly recommend this trip.Written 11 March 2023
- Larpy20180 contributionsYou don't need to use TripAdvisor! We made a reservation for a private van to pick us at the Liberia airport, drinks included. When we arrived, no such vehicle was there. However, there were dozens of other transportation services waiting outside the airport to pick up other arriving passengers, so we asked around and finally found someone who knew the company we thought we had hired. He called them for us, and when we got them on the phone they informed us that they had no record of our reservation. They asked us how we made the reservation. When we told them it was through TripAdvisor, they told us that was the problem, specifically that TripAdvisor frequently fails to convey reservations to the local service provider. Fortunately, they found us other transportation to Tamarindo, but it sure as heck wasn't the fancy private van with free drinks and and an experienced guide that we had paid for. Instead, we were hustled across a sandy parking lot, dragging our bags behind us, and crammed into the back seat of a small sedan with no a/c, driven by a local who couldn't speak a word of English. We were relieved to get to our hotel in one piece, but it certainly wasn't in the style we expected, nor worthy of the price that we paid in advance. The moral of this cautionary tale is that you don't need to use TripAdvisor. There are numerous transportation and tour guide options available online or through your hotel without the need of going through a third-party!Written 1 March 2023

Juan Carlos was our guide and entirely made our experience amazing. He was exceptional and made it a memorable trip. He’s an amazing birder and naturalist. We also went to the paleo verde rainforest which was also neat. There was an unfortunate amount of driving to get to these places from tamarindo but I felt it was worth it, although others may not.

What a perfect day this was!!!!
Our tour guide was Harold and he was a perfect match for my family. We had about an hour and a half ride to the river. He was quite knowledgeable about Costa Rica and kept us entertained on the ride. Once on the River we had the best experience seeing many birds, crocodiles and a white faced monkey. The boat driver was so amazing he was able to spot a baby crocodile hidden in low tree branches and a momma bird with her baby high up in a tree nest. After our tour we went to a native Costa Rican ranch and had the best lunch we have yet to have on our trip. They were such a lovely family and spent time talking to us and showing us their ranch. We saw a pottery demonstration and proceeded to purchase some of their beautiful handmade bowls and mugs. It was a win win and definitely money well spent on this excursion. Everyone in our group was 100% satisfied with this experience.

What an awful time. Friendly enough to get our 18 person trip. $160 per person.
We were to get a two hour trip in the jungle and a two hour trip along the beaches. Lunch included.
Wow !! Nothing like that happened.
1 hour round about going over the same roads zig zagging around. The free included lunch was a restaurant that charges us menu prices. No possible way to tour the beach’s. He wanted to drop us off to swim if we wanted but no beach trip even possible. We had him bring the vans to pick us up from lunch and cut two hours off the trip. Never even brought up a refund of at least half.
TOTAL LIAR. TOTAL ALL TALK Liar
Never ever never ever never ever use this loud mouth liar.
