Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in central Jaco before 7 a.m. (exact time to be determined upon reconfirmation). Drive for roughly an hour to reach the Savegre River, where you will receive safety instructions before heading into the water.
Climb aboard a sturdy raft that accommodates two to six people and then begin your 13-mile descent downstream. Ramble down the river and ride over Class II, III, and IV rapids as you travel at a comfortable pace. Throughout the trip, take breaks to enjoy scenic swimming holes, view a waterfall, and give your arms a well-deserved rest.
Keep your eyes peeled for the abundant variety of wildlife along the river, such as egrets, ospreys, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and other inhabitants of this tropical rain forest.
Finish your journey at a local village and chow down on a typical Costa Rican lunch, like rice, beans, fried plantains, and meat, accompanied by local refreshments. When lunch is complete, head to the vehicle and return to your hotel in Jaco by roughly 4 p.m.
