          Great tour
The trip was worth it! Our tour guide took us to a few good restaurants and explained everything to us. The waterfall was amazing , though the stairs were hard. The sloth tour was great and the tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Warning: We did not get what we paid for
We would highly recommend booking this tour with another company. Our main objective of booking this tour and paying the full price was visiting Manuel Anronio park and also visiting the warerfalls. These vistits did not take place due to the bad organisation of the company that informed us a night before that we could just stay at the beach for the next day since they did not have the Manuel Antonio Park tickets. The representative of the company thar explained these changes was just very rude and impolite. We also did not receive any reimbursement by the company for this lost day (Manuel Antonio was one of the main reasons for our whole trip to Costa Rica) . We are still very disappointed and feel scammed by this company.

Rio Celeste National Park and Sloth Rainforest
Wonderful trip that is absolutely worth it! It was nice to pair cultural experiences with outdoor activities. Esteban, our guide for the tour, was friendly and knowledge and added value to the trip. I would certainly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica.

Wonderful experience at the Cloud Forest
We went to the Monteverde cloud forest with Luis. We had a very, very great adventure, and Luis was awesome! He spotted and pointed out several animals, birds, insects, and rare plants. He answered our questions about the country on our ride there and back. He made the experience great. I highly recommend that you request him as your tour guide. Very nice stops for breakfast and especially lunch. 5 stars!

Awesome day in the Cloud Forest
Luis did an absolutely amazing job. My girlfriend and I ended up getting a private tour and everything from pick-up to drop-off was perfect. Luis was great to communicate with, friendly and knowledgeable. The tour itself was unforgettable and the beauty of the rain forest and experience of walking through the canopies was unlike anything I’d experienced before. Highly recommend!

This 3-day tour was amazing and we had a very memorable time. We got to see a lot in a short amount of time. Our tour guide Luis and driver Yohan were very friendly. Luis was a very knowledgeable tour guide and very patient with our many questions. The first day we did a light hike at Arenal National Park to see the volcano and then did the hot springs after. We (luckily) were able to see a sloth on the side of the road, pretty up close. Luis and Yohan were very flexible with us. The second day we hiked in Monteverde National Park and walked the hanging bridges. We got to see two quetzals (!!) and other animals. The third day we went to Manuel Antonio Park and saw birds, sloths and iguanas. We had time to relax and swim in the Pacific Ocean. The hotels were really nice and the food was great. It was a small group the entire time which made it feel very personalized.

          4 days in Costa Rica
Excellent trip. Landed in Sanjose. We were welcomed by our tour guide Louis. We drove to Mount Arenal. We visited Baldi Hot springs that evening, next day drive to Rio Celeste, hiked to the gorgeous waterfalls followed by sloth tour and lunch at local restaurant Dona Carmen and indulged on mangos, pineapple and agua coco. Day 3 we drove to Monteverde cloud forest, hike in the rain forest, walked the long hanging bridges, followed by Zip lining through the clouds along with Tarzan swing, ate lunch at amazing Italian place- pizzas, pastas and fresh juices. Drive to playa hermosa beach resort- A black sand pacific beach. Day 4-drove to Manuela Antonio - tropical humid forest walk leading to a beautiful white sand beach. Gelatos to calm down the heat followed by vegan lunch including pad Thai and oriental rice with vegetables and amazing fruit drinks. Stayed close to SanJose Airport to catch a mid morning flight next day. Overall I gave 4 stars and not 5 because of long drives from one place to another. May have been better to do Arenal and Monteverde alone to avoid long drives. Otherwise the country is full of endless beautiful scenery Tour guide was constantly engaging us with information, stopped when we spotted animals or birds, driver extremely capable. I must add with all the travel we missed 2 things sunset at the playa hermosa beach and arenal volcano walk as we couldn't arrive on time although it was part of the plan.

          Priceless experience in Costa Rica
This tour was worth the cost. Full day trip to the National park with hike to Rio Celeste waterfall to witness its stunning beauty. We then had lunch at an authentic and nice restaurant with great food and service, followed by a wildlife walk on their grounds where we saw howling monkeys, toucans and sloths. The final stop was for a cacao and coffee tour which was also fantastic. Definitely recommend this experience with Nexus Tours.

Fine walk high in the forest canopy
Enjoyable 2+ mile / 3 km walk round a well-surfaced path and across 8 hanging bridges - the longest over 100m long - with excellent views of the forest canopy from close-up and over sections of it when we crossed a wide valley, and opportunities to spot monkeys and a range of birds. Very safe, but we somewhat regretted not having a local guide to help us understand what we were seeing. The one frustration in some ways was that it was dry and hot and there wasn’t a trace of the clouds that give the forest its name…. Worth visiting, but perhaps not quite as striking as we’d expected.

          Will never forget!!
Our guide Erick was great, very knowledgeable and willing to make our day a great one. Once we have arrived at Tortuguero, the guide from the canoe, took us around the lagoon seeking for animals and explained us many things. After lunch we were able to swim for a little bit in the caribean sea on the other skde of Tortuguero town. I would certainly recommend this tour!!

The best ziplining in Costa Rica !
For us, this was a trip highlight. The ziplining was the most extensive in Costa Rica with one of the 13 lines reaching 1 km in length ! We were very lucky with the weather in that the skies were clear while we walked the hanging bridges (o.k, not really too exciting) then the highlight, the ziplining. The clouds rolled in on only the last 'zip', which was pretty cool to 'zip' into the clouds. The tarzan swing was fun near the end too. However, the communication with this tour company was VERY BAD. They cancelled our first trip at 12:30 AM ! Citing mechanical problems. Surely they knew whether they had a vehicle before then. They changed our date to a Saturday (2 days later) and it was o.k. for us because we were still in town, but I suspect (I don't know this for sure) that they rescheduled us for Saturday hoping to get others signed up. It turned out no one else booked in so we had a private tour. Yes, this was a really fun day, but be prepared for a very long drive. Essentially, this 'tour' was a vehicle and a driver for the day, taking us to the Selvatura Park in Monteverde. It included the hanging bridges walk, but we paid extra for the ziplining. If you have your own car and are prepared for a long drive in a single day, do it on your own, OR, i suggest you can drive to Monteverde, stay overnight in Monteverde and go to the park and do the ziplining on your own.

I booked and payed this tour on 24 January, for 2 adults, via viator, with instant confirmation. The days of the tour should have been Feb 20 to Feb 22. In the mean time, I tried to contact A&E travel twice, but they did not bother to response at all. Three days before the tour should have started, while I was in Colombia(I live in Croatia), I received an email from viator that my tour was CANCELLED, without any appologize and additional explanation. I had to find additional 2 days hotel accomodation immidiately and to book at least 2 additional tours to Monteverde and Arenal. No problem for me, because I am experienced treveller, but I am not sure how would less experienced tourist would manage that.Guys, DO NOT TRUST A&E Tours Travel.

Terrible service, they cancelled our trip the day it was supposed to occur. Not only that, they cancelled 45 minutes after our arranged pick up time. No one responded to our calls or messages through the app. Had to contact Viator an hour after our pick up time to get any information.
On top of that they claimed to cancel because of bad weather. My wife and I watched tourists get picked up for the same location (Arenal) and the other travel companies did not cancel or seemed at all concerned with the weather. Plus we looked up the weather and it was nothing unusual. I find it hard to believe that only A&E Travel knew about the weather, or were so worried about the customer’s experience. Especially given their lack of communication.
We had to scramble to find a place to stay for the next 3 days, and book other excursions. Tough to do during the busy season. We ended up pretty much wasting a whole day of our trip making other arrangements.
I’m not one to write bad reviews, but this was egregious. Do yourself a favor and book with another company. I read a similar review before booking and thought “That won’t happen to me”. My mistake.

Overall we had a great experience, had a great trip with Juan Jose and Eric! This was a convenient way to get around, get a taste of 3 different Costa Rica hot-spots, and have food, travel and lodging taken care of. Definitely a great deal, and would do it again and recommend to friends.
We were picked up at the airport, pickup went smoothly. The first day we went to Arenal- we unfortunately had bad weather and couldn't see the volcano and the hike was rather rainy. Nonetheless, we still made the most of our experience and enjoyed the hot-springs that day. The hot-springs we went to were not natural, and were more like heated pools, but still had a good time. First night hotel was nice enough, clean, quaint. Second day we went to Manuel Antonio. We did a small nature walk and then had some time at the beach. Like I mentioned above, this trip is the bare bones- there were many other tour groups walking around with guides who had fancy telescopes and pointed out many different types of wild life, while our guide, Eric, had a pair of binoculars. We got to see some animals, but definitely did not get the complete experience. The second day was rather short, and got back to our hotel at around 6:30pm. Second hotel was a little creepy, beds looked dirty, was in the middle of nowhere so when we were dropped of at 6:30pm, didn't have much to do. Third day headed up to Monteverde. We did the hanging bridges there which were SO cool, then paid $55 for a zipline tour-- highly recommended!! Also had an option for a coffee tour, which we skipped- happy we did in the end, because got to stop along the way to see the sunset. This day was definitely our favorite. then returned back to san jose around 8:30pm.
To summarize... we loved our driver Juan Jose, both he and Eric tried to make sure we had the best experience. They stopped at veiw points along the drive and allowed us to get beautiful pictures of the sunset. Their English was both average, but were able to communicate with the help of google translate when needed. We had special dietary needs and they made sure each restaurant we went to could accommodate us. If you are looking to see a lot of different places in a small amount of time and a limited budget, and willing to "rough it" a little with the hotels, this is the trip for you! If you are looking for a more complete experience, with a thorough guide, and making sure you get the "complete" experience at each of your destinations, then you may want to splurge on separate day trips.

The tour guides/drivers were great. The driver Juan Jose was friendly and relaxed. Eric was alongside and he was the “guide” providing information on the sights/wildlife. He was an excellent spotter of sloth and other wildlife. His English was quite good- they both really tried hard on that front since we did not know any Spanish.
We were surprised by the amount of time to get to the sites of interest but we took it all with stride. We had amazing weather, food was great, hotels were nice and we had a good amount of time at each of the locations. There’s some flexibility needed as the tour guides mix the day plan based on the anticipated weather and other “joiners” to the tour. We had a couple join us for a day trip on our first day and a few people join our 3rd day (that was their 1st day). Overall I liked this as it was fun to meet new people along the way. We felt like overall we got a “taste” of Costa Rica in three days. For us it was a nice option so we had to do little planning in advance. We were overall very happy with our tour!

I booked my tour for Dec 3-5.

They cancelled on me on Dec 2, at night.

No reason provided for cancellation, yet.

I now need to find a new hotel, and hopefully new tours.

I booked several months ago, and emailed again on Nov 10 to re-confirm. I contacted the tour guide myself for pickup time on Dec 2, then trip was suddenly cancelled.

Communication should be better and not last minute for everything.
