About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- rachaelh3090 contributionsPerfect first-day activity! This was fabulous - we saw so much and Corinne really knew her stuff. We have relatively low fitness and I don't have much experience on bikes, so I was nervous, but I loved how we would cycle for just a little while and then pull over and have a chat! It was just right, and you should do this tour, especially at the beginning of your stay. Really gave us a sense of place. Thanks, C!Written 9 December 2024
- Tink-n-Peter0 contributionsA Must-Do!Communication before the tour was excellent. Corinna happily accommodated our dietary needs for the lunch. She adapted the tour to the interests of our little group, and was able to answer our wide-ranging questions about historical and modern life on the island. We were all in our 50’s, and the biking was not difficult, especially with lots of stops to see things. But we did appreciate the stop to sit in the waterfall! This tour was one of the highlights of our trip!Written 30 October 2024
- BarryH500 contributionsShelly didn't want to ride, but...Our travel agent recommended this tour, and we're so pleased we went for the "ride." We were picked up at our resort, taken to the starting point, fitted for our bike, and off we went. Corrina (the owner and tour guide) was funny, informative, and made everyone feel at home. We rode mainly on the "old" road in the countryside away from the traffic. Saw crops, mountains, animals, etc. Ate coconuts, tamarind, and chili peppers. Tour ended at the beach with a picnic and an opportunity to chat with the other riders.Written 14 October 2024
- sonjasU5244XF0 contributionsFantastic unique experienceFantastic fun tour with excellent local knowledge. A different perspective to see beautiful Rarotonga! Highly recommend.Written 5 October 2024
- kevincS9654ZN0 contributionsFunWe enjoyed out cycle tour Got to see native fruit and fauna plus learnt how to de husk a coconut Easy way to go off the main road Great info and fun dayWritten 17 September 2024
- Beachgirl99990 contributionsFantastic!!!!!!Corrina was the most knowledgeable guide. She asked us what we wanted to see and tried to accommodate everyone in the group. We were interested in plants and history and trying to eat edible plants. She was simply fascinating . Corrina is well spoken, humble, strong, a wonderful storyteller and is an accomplished singer also. We ended up touring with her twice. She was that much fun! It’s a must do when you go to Rarotonga! She is great. Don’t miss this amazing ride!Written 1 September 2024
- Q743VGdariol0 contributionsGreat tourMy wife and I had a great time exploring with our guide Corinna. She was full of cultural information and took us off the beaten path. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re worried about the physical demand of the ride. None of us on the tour were spring chickens and we were all able to keep up. Corinna takes multiple breaks throughout the tour to tell stories or pick tropical fruits from trees along the route for you to taste. At the end of the ride a delicious simple lunch was provided and eaten on the beach.Written 12 August 2024
- susancR2719TC0 contributionsHighly recommendThis was a fantastic experience, Corinna was a very warm and knowledgeable guide. We learnt so much about CI culture and history as well as tasting fruits along the way. Corunna asked at the beginning of the tour what we were all interested in learning about so she could accommodate our interests. Lunch was great and the whole experience exceeded expectations and was very good value.Written 3 August 2024
- adely600 contributionsRelax and informative bike tour - great experienceWe had a lovely 3 hours tour with Corinna. The ride was perfect for beginners and laid back. Corinna shared a lot of her knowledge regarding the history of the island, the culture, and the plants/trees. We tried some local fruits and finished the tour by a lunch by the beach. It was lovely, and we can tell Corinna is passionated about what she does! This experience is perfect for someone who is looking to explore the back roads a bit more, get a better knowledge of the island and relax at the same time. Thx Corinna!Written 2 August 2024
- susancR2719TC0 contributionsFantastic tourHighly recommended - we had a fantastic time. Corinna is so knowledgeable about the area, history and culture. She can cater to all interests depending what you want to get out of the day. Lunch was delicious. Unlike some of the tours in the island we felt it was very good value with a delicious lunch provided. Best tour we have done on the island.Written 2 August 2024
- nataliepT6851WH0 contributionsGreat Cycle Experience!Great Tour and we all four highly recommend Corinna's tour for a day trip! Corinna gave us all kind of history of area, vistas to photograph, dleicious lunch and swim provided and all kinds of information of the flora and fauna. Even met locals and art gallery along the way. Plenty of stops along the way and very safety conscience.Written 18 July 2024
- Denise F0 contributionsDisappointingThis was not storytelling tour, just a question and answer short 7k cycle. All six considered not be value for money. The tour guide was really sick so should not have been around people. She clearly did not want to be doing her job that day.Written 8 July 2024
- Boris N0 contributionsStorytelling Bike RideWe learned quite a lot about the history and culture of Rarotonga on this tour. Quite a but if stopping, but despite us wanting a bit more of a ride, we quite enjoyed it overall. Thank you, Corinna, for a lovely day.Written 5 July 2024
- Smellpir0 contributionsCorrina runs a great tour!Corrina does a superb job on this informative bike tour. She asked at the outset what we were most interested in - history, food, plants, eccentric stuff - and then tailored the tour stops and talks around our interests. Lots of opportunities to sample fruits direct from the trees (which she has permission to do from the local property owners), and a nice picnic lunch on the beach. She can do all sorts of tours, but it seems that the more information you give her when you book, the better chance she has to match your exact needs.Written 1 July 2024
- shinenotburn0 contributionsPersonalized and informative tourFantastic, authentic and well informed tour. We were a large group, ranging in age from 11 - 60 years. Corrina went out of her way to ensure she catered to everyone and the different parts of the tour that they were most interested in. Easy cycling, great bikes and an opportunity to learn and try so many different fruits on the island. Highly recommended!!Written 29 June 2024

I can't recommend the Afternoon Stroll Walking Tour highly enough.
Corrina, who runs the tour, is so knowledgeable about history, culture, important sites, government, plants, animals.
We had such a relaxed afternoon strolling through the back streets of Avaru in Rarotonga.
I suspect Corinna artfully adapts the speed, sites and information provided to each groups that she walks with.
I learnt so much in the time on the tour - it was a wonderful introduction to Rarotonga.
Corinna very kindly moved our tour from Saturday to Sunday, because of bad weather, which meant we ended with a traditional fruit ice cream at Wigmores (these ice creams are heaven - vanilla ice cream combined into a soft serve with pureed fruit).
Corinna was so generous with her time and was such lovely company.
My partner went on Storytellers two bike tours too and loved them - learning new things each time.

We did this walking tour at the start of our trip and it was a great way to connect to the Island and learn its history. Corrina was well informed and knowledgeable. We liked the way she could tailor information to the audience. We even got to sample local fruit on the tour and a welcome cold drink at the end.

3/5 stars. Not worth $50.
This experience was a laid-back and casual style walk around some of the exteriors of prominent Island buildings. The guide is lovely and passionate about the indigenous fruits and trees, however the tour was unstructured and under researched. I found I was left unsatisfied as the tour didn't scratch my curiosity itch. The guide didn't speak much, unless questioned. The guide welcomed questions, however didn't have many answers or local intel (ie: history, settlement, traditional practices, Maori culture or economic data). Would have appreciated more bang for buck.
Better to go to one of the island museums if you're keen to learn or orientate.
If you go with this tour, bring a big hat and water.

Thank you for your review. Yes it is a fairly laid back tour - how far we go and what we cover is largely determined by the group on the day. I am pretty surprised about the comment regarding not having many answers or local Intel! I specifically recall talking about many different things! As well as museum visits, perhaps a book like 'Places of historical and cultural significance in Rarotonga, Cook Islands - a guide for the curious adventurer' would have been a better fit for you. This book would also demonstrate fairly clearly the significant amount of time and effort that your guide (i.e. me) has gone to in order to be well-informed given i wrote it. Moreover, i noted that before the tour even got started that there were a couple of people in the group that did not seem to even want to be there, which raises questions as to why they were on the tour in the first place. Anyway, i am sorry that this is how you felt. And yes i was sick, and i would have canceled that day if none of the bookings came through TripAdvisor (but x4 of them did), but i had already taken all the sick days / cancellations I could via this platform and was facing suspension if I had of taken more as sickness is not considered a legitimate reason for a cancelation according to their rules. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay.

This is a relaxed but fascinating insight into early Rarotonga. Strolling around the residential and historic buildings behind Avarua opens up a picture of this beautiful island most travellers do not see. The beautiful homes and gardens, the substantial missionary buildings and the government and traditional owners' properties provide a rich background to the storyteller's insights. Our host was knowledgeable (particularly about the local flora) and accommodating. The pace is leisurely, and the welcome drink in a local watering hole was a fitting finale.

The booking process was relatively easy and the communication with the guide was excellent. The tour itself was informative and enjoyable. On our casual stroll around Avarua we saw some local and historical sites and listened to some of their stories. We learned about the many native and exotic plants along the way, one that is poisonous! Thank you Corinna for the experience and a cool drink at the local pub to finish. Highly recommended. Meitaki Maata.

We had prebooked before we left NZ. And had a confirmation. Went to check email night before, still going ahead and it was cancelled on the morning of the walk,no reason as to why. Disappointed. Have refunded but less an admin fee?

Kia orana. My apologies that this needed to be cancelled. We did all we could to contact you to let you know in advance. Calls would not go through, so I sent a text message to the number provided but had no response. I messaged you via TripAdvisor also, but no response. I'm not sure when any of these communications would have been received as our Vodafone network was out for most of that weekend. The company does not receive any payment until the following month, and I was not actually aware that an admin fee was charged to guests (suppliers pay a commission to TripAdvisor). When we make a cancellation, we are only given a set range of options regarding the reason why, and again, I'm not aware of what information is then past onto guests. In my message to you (via TripAdvisor,) I asked whether we could possibly put the tour on for the two of you, some time over the next few days so that you would not miss out. Unfortunately unforeseen circumstances do arise from time to time, and while I always do my best to sort these out as soon as I can, it is not always possible. Regarding the admin fee, this is something you would need to contact TripAdvisor (or Viator - the finance side of things) about as it is not anything to do with us as suppliers.
And last but not least, we usually wont make a cancellation until the morning / day of the tour, usually due to the weather being so unpredictable, or occasionally if something goes wrong that cant be sorted out in time for the tour.
Once again, I'm sorry we had to cancel. It's a pity you didn't see any of our correspondence in time for us to reschedule you. It would be great too, if in the future you are unhappy with someone / something, that you contact the person concerned directly to try and sort it out or at least get an explanation. At least that way you would be informed and have a fuller picture of the situation.
