    What to Expect
Take advantage of your next port stop in Juneau and embark on a 2-hour whale-watching cruise. Board a bus to Auke Bay from the Mt Roberts Tramway. Upon arrival at the bay, step aboard a jet boat that accommodates a max of 30 passengers, meaning you’ll have space to enjoy unobstructed views. Thirsty or hungry? Soft drinks, water, hot chocolate and coffee are available, as well as snacks including locally caught Alaskan salmon spread on bagels.
Pick up some binoculars (provided), as your captain navigates the boat into Saginaw Channel, Stephens Passage, Favorite Channel and Lynn Canal. Thanks to the growing whale population in Juneau, rest assured you’ll see whales in these waters. Keep your eyes peeled for breaching whales, females with their young and pods on the search for prey. Your naturalist guide on board shares facts about the local geology and the wildlife you see, including bald eagles and seal lions.
At the end of the cruise, transport takes you back to the Mt Roberts Tramway.
    Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your timely return back to the ship in Juneau for this activity. If your ship is delayed and you are unable attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

It was an ok tour. Saw a couple whales, some porpoises and Sea Lions. Naturalist was more interested in getting pictures than helping guests. Wouldn’t do it again.

It was awesome!!!! Not only plenty of cool whales giving us full flukes and a pectoral fin wave but a great crew. We enjoyed all the info they threw out on the whales.

Captain Nick and his assistant Matt provided us with a fantastic excursion in which we saw approximately 10 whales, one of them being a pod of 5, as well as seeing sea lions playing atop a buoy. Would definitely recommend this to everyone. Well worth...More

The Dolphin Jet Boat whale watching excursion was great. It was a small group(fewer than 20 people). The captain did a good job finding whales and helping us know what to look for. We saw about 5 different whales. We were able to watch two...More

Our small boat with only 21 passengers, including Captain Ken and Miss Kirsten, was a delightful experience for all. We were able to see Sasha and Flame plus baby calf Buntsen frolicking together. It was especially fun to have an expert like Kirsten to tell...More

Depends on the time of year. Alaska has very short days in winter, but by spring and summer it stays light out quite late.
