Meet your guide at your Beijing Hotel at 7:30am, and travel by private vehicle to the railway station. Settling into the first-class compartment of the bullet train for Tianjin. Your journey will only takes roughly 30 minutes, and please enjoy the countryside view.
Arrive in Tianjin, you’ll meet your private driver at the station and set out to discover Tianjin, the fourth-biggest city in China, and known for its imperial past and 20th-century European colonial history.
Head to the Jingyuan Garden, it was built in 1921, this garden and Spanish-style house was home to Puyi, China’s last Qing Emperor. Wander through the pretty courtyards and rooms, and learn how Puyi lived here with his wife, concubine, and staff. On the way, if time allowed, stop at Italian Style Street and Tianjin Eye, a modern-day landmark for photograph.
Continue to the Jiefang North Park, where the Former French Concessions, and the Orignal Site of Astor Hotel located. Then, stop at Five Great Avenues (Wudadao), it’s five thoroughfares flanked by buildings constructed by the British, French, Germans, Italians, and Spanish in the early 1900s. View the grand buildings and villas, with their eclectic architectural styles, as your guide explains how they were built during Tianjin’s concessions era.
In the afternoon, head to Nanshi Food Street (Nanshi Shipin Jie), a market-like complex of restaurants and food stands. You may choice something here as your own lunch. Later, travel to Ancient Culture Street follow by the 50-minutes evening Haihe River Cruise. Board a comfortable sightseeing boat and sail along the river to admire Tianjin’s illuminated skyline, sparkling against the night sky.
Finally, transfer to the station for your 30-minute return train journey to Beijing, where your tour ends at your hotel.
