Thanks for your great review. Here at ETHOS, we pride ourselves on creating bespoke experiences in areas that are both quiet and tradition. In order to fully immerse yourself in local culture, it is important to get guides who are knowledgeable about traditions. We are glad that you felt Ker and My are such people. We understand that the Sapa terrain is both changeable and feel that adjusting routes helps to make any experience as genuine and enjoyable as possible. On behalf of our entire team, thanks for choosing us.

Having the ability to choose a trek with a level of challenge that suits your own needs is really important to us, and we are delighted that you loved the trek. Ker and My really enjoyed hosting you and introducing you to their families and culture. Having this opportunity is something very few people ever get the chance to experience. Conditions are sometimes basic, but part of genuine travel is always to experience things like a local. We thank you for your adaptability, your interest and for joining our team in Sapa.

The myths about Sapa being too tourists are always perpetuated by the guests who book package tours with agents in Hanoi. While villages like Lao Chai, Ta Van and Giang Ta Chai have developed to cater for tourists, they have lost their traditional charm. If you need WiFi, a hot shower and access to bars and a pool table, then these are the villages for you. They have a backpacker feel and are good places to meet other travellers. Fortunately, there are huge swathes of Sapa district that are charming, authentic and rarely visited by travellers. There are the areas we work. We are therefore you are delighted you enjoyed your day trekking with So. She offers incredible cultural knowledge, excellent English and is great cook to boot. Thanks for your amazing review and we hope to see you again if you ever visit Sapa in the future.
