About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- donp1130 contributionsPhenomenal experience!Viewing the landscape this way is a must. We were so amazed by the beauty and feel so lucky we were able to do. The whole TAT staff and crew were great from check in to check out - props to Liz who was so sweet and helpful and put us right at ease (plus has the best hair in Alaska) and our pilot Cade who was awesome, gave us a smooth and relaxing ride. Hope to get back someday. Highly recommend TAT.Written 29 September 2024
- terryfl10 contributionsIncredible experience and views. Add this to your Alaska bucket list. This was a last minute decision and so glad we did it. Cory was super helpful and the entire staff was incredibly friendly. Our pilot Tim was great, offering just the right amount of narration and a great playlist. The views were spectacular and the glacier landing was very cool. All and all I would highly recommend this company and this experience.Written 29 September 2024
- FellowTraveler4272360 contributionsAmazing AdventureWe had an amazing experience after the weather cleared. The pilot was very informative and the trip was safe and soooo beautiful. Worth every penny and worth the wait! It was breathtaking and we were so happy we took this tour. Thank you so much.Written 27 September 2024
- Adventurer2376390 contributionsCan’t Leave Alaska without This Experience!Words cannot fully express, but here’s to trying…The views are enormous and unlike any I’ve ever witnessed. The pilot was extremely knowledgeable. The experience of being in a plane landing and taking off in the snow is indescribable. We had previously booked the flight a day later, but the wonderful staff was able to change our date because of the clear weather and availability. Seeing the evening sun (4 pm flight) in our photos was simply gorgeous. I can’t give this crew enough stars! (Our flight was the Grand Denali with Glacier Landing.)Written 23 September 2024
- tvoelgranada0 contributionsAmazing Denali ExperienceDenali was partially hidden by clouds. The scenery leading up to Denali and the glacier landing were breath taking. This is a must do to experience Denali. Shannon front desk lady was a delight. Flight crew Asa and Richard were top notch. We were rescheduled several times due to weather. They won’t fly unless it’s safe. So clear your calendar and make yourself available to better your chances. We plan to come back and do another flight seeing tour with this outfit on our next Alaska trip. Yes I highly recommend.Written 20 September 2024
- 57Lulu0 contributionsA good experienceUnfortunately, it was cloudy and drizzling on our day of the scheduled ride and we couldn't do the glacier landing route. I wanted to write a review and let those with potential air or car sickness, like my husband, you do not have to worry about it. The plane is small and seats are tight but the takeoff, landing and ride itself is very smooth even with elevation changes. We actually went through a snow squall during our flight which was interesting. Although it was not our original plan, we were glad we decided to go up and fly over the tundra and the deepest ice in Alaska, a memory we always will have.Written 14 September 2024
- X3235TTmelissaa0 contributionsWorth every penny!Worth every penny! Outside of major life events this is a highlight of our life experiences. Asa was a great pilot along with Danielle (pilot in training) and Corey was very friendly and helpful in the office. We wanted to go on another flight immediately. 😁Written 14 September 2024
- nateb320 contributionsDon't Miss this Chance to See DenaliThis is a very special experience, if the weather cooperates. The team at TAT was great at finding a time to reschedule us so that we could make it happen. The pilot was great, the ride felt safe at all times, and the chance to see Denali, the glaciers, and so on was fantastic. That we landed in about a foot of fresh powder snow was a blast. Did not anticipate being able to have a snowball fight in September.Written 13 September 2024
- kevinmX5599NY0 contributionsBLESSED!!!It could not have been a better experience. The views, the knowledge shared, the glacier landing!!! I was blessed to be able to have this experience!Written 9 September 2024
- Go563212994050 contributionsExperience of a lifetimeA once in a lifetime experience for sure. Landing on a glacier way away from any civilization was mind-blowing. The only sounds were the ones I made walking on the snow/ice. We flew with Paul. Had no idea who he was until after, when I googled the outfit. Weather prevented us from flying the north side of Denali. I had not noticed. The company refunded us for that portion of the flight without us asking or even knowing. High level of integrity, all I can say. Lovely experience. Will recommend to anyone that travels near you!Written 8 September 2024
- 285clares0 contributionsThe most epic day everI’ve been living in Alaska for two years and this takes the cake for one of the coolest experiences I’ve had so far. The Talkeetna Air team was incredibly accommodating and professional assisting my cousin who is a paraplegic load the aircraft. Our pilot Tim was so skilled and was a great guide. We had a fantastic time and I would recommend to anyone visiting Alaska.Written 5 September 2024
- familytripplannerNYC0 contributionsWhat a view! What a treat! The flight over to Denali was a highlight of our short stay in Alaska. Pilot Tim was knowledgeable and answered our many questions about Denali and the region. The scenery is of course breath taking and the experience quite memorable. If you can, take this flight.Written 4 September 2024
- timothysX6417ZI0 contributionsFlying high!We had a terrific time flying with Talkeetna Air Taxi. The views were spectacular, landing on the glacier was amazing. Our pilot, Richard did a great job flying and showing us the terrain. Very little turbulence during our trip and great landings both on the glacier and at the airport. Would highly recommend this excursion.Written 4 September 2024
- Relax621863255650 contributionsBest trip everone of the best things we have ever done. Amazing views and landing on the mountin was a plus OUr pilot was great. He gave a non stop summary of the mountin ranges we were flying over Never in my life did I think I would be standing on top of the world I would do this again in a heart beatWritten 4 September 2024
- tellnoliesdayton0 contributionsThe greatest tour on earthsigned up for the summit tour but they called 2 hours before and said they did not meet quota so we were put on the Grand Denali Tour w/ Glacier Landing. It was the most fantastic tour imaginable. Absolutely incredible. Pilot was excellent narrator.Written 4 September 2024

Weather was a factor in being able to take the extended tour to fly over the summit or to land on the glacier. Obviously we were pleased they cared for our safety not to attempt something that would put us in danger. Since our stay was limited we were please with the offer to show us what they could at a significant discount. It truly wasn't a disappointment with what we did see. It is stunning. Well worth the going out of your way to get to Talkeetna. When we landed to my surprise, my Fiancée shed tears of joy about the trip and I received an email with the credit already refunded. We will do this again some day. Great customer service and awesome experience. Thank you for the experience.

Going into the our trip to Alaska, this adventure was what concerned me most. Thinking of a trip to Alaska as a once in a lifetime trip, we figured we'd pay for the best and get the Summit Tour with glacier landing. I was debating a lower tour or skipping the landing, but if we only come once we should do the best, and it did not disappoint.
The day we were scheduled to fly, it was forecasted to be rainy all day and I called to rebook for the next day, I highly recommend flexibility in your schedule in case you run into the same thing. Th e morning of our flight, it was foggy and rainy and we were concerned again, but while spending time in Talkeetna the sun began to peek out and we were hopeful.
The plane had seats for 10 and we put on oxygen masks over 12000 feet. Our pilot (Dave/Dan? sorry!) was awesome! He pointed out landmarks, told history of the area. Flight was smooth, he turned the plane so both sides could always see the views. Denali was beautiful. He smoothly landed on fresh snow on the glacier, and offered to take several pictures of our family (and did an excellent job of that too).
If you go to Denali, spend the money and do this trip, it will be a favorite family memory for a lifetime!

We did the Denali Summit
flight seeing and glacier
landing tour and it was
absolutely amazing. Circling the summit at 20,000 feet a few times, landing on the glacier and walking around were and incredible experience.
Alex is an awesome pilot and he made sure that we saw as much of the mountain(s) as possible, and
he took full advantage of a
beautifully clear day. It was the highlight of our two week trip to Alaska and we would recommend this to anyone that wants to see the beauty of this majestic mountain.
Everyone at Talkeetna Air was fantastic! Heidi and Amy made sure that we had
transportation around town
during the two days that we
were there. They all went
above and beyond to make our visit an experience of a lifetime and one to remember!

My wife and I checked off a "bucket list" item by flying with pilot Andy Young and Talkeetna Air Taxi and landing on Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park. Although the day was overcast and prevented us from seeing the summit of Mount Denali, we were able to land on Ruth Glacier. The snow was pristine as we were the first flight to land on the snow that fell the night below. Andy flew the de Havilland DHC-3 Otter with great skill, banking both ways to permit all passengers to get stunning views of the glacier and surrounding mountains. It was an experience we will never forget. I encourage everyone who travels to Alaska to make this a MUST DO activity! You will not regret it!

I have flown before with TAT in 2018, while attempting a Denali summit climb. I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff and pilots. Since then, I have tried twice to take a flightseeing trip to see the parts of the climb and summit we were unable to reach due to inclement weather, and also to share the experience with my wife. Unfortunately, the first time we booked the trip was in 2020, so it was cancelled. We tried again this year (2022) and booked our Summit Tour in January. A minimum of 4 must be registered for this trip to “fly”. As luck would have it, the threat of clouds at the summit caused the other couple to back out of the flight, leaving us “grounded”. At this point, the staff, and especially Sandy, went to work to see what options and accommodations were available for us. We were offered several possibilities, but the weather and not being unable to meet the minimum number of clients worked against our goal of seeing the top part of the mountain. We much appreciated the efforts put forth by Sandy (and others) to get us in the air, but our goal was very specific and it was just not going to happen this time. If/when we try again, it will be with Talkeetna Air Taxi.

Glacier landing was amazing. I was terrified of this adventure I am not one for small planes or heights. Our pilot was so great (Stan). From take off to landing it was the smoothest ride ever. Landing on the Ruth Glacier was by far one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

The most amazing thing we have done so far in Alaska. We took the summit flight tour with glacier Landing and we were able to see all of Denali with a few clouds. Then we landed on the glacier and oh my it was beautiful and breathtaking. Captain Liam was great with sharing stories with us and keeping us safe 10 out of 10 for him. Everyone at Talkeetna air taxi were great. Because they were able to move our flight one day earlier because the weather was better. Thank you so much! Highly recommend you use Talkeetna air taxi to go and see in Denali. It’s well worth the money spent a lifetime of memories.

The flight seeing tour was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. The pilot was great, he navigated very well. He flew very close to all the peaks and more than the glacier landing it was flying next to the ice clad mountains that was exhilarating.
The pilot landed us at a nice spot and we spent about 30 mins on the glacier. The overall tour was very well managed. We had an 18 month old with us and they were kind enough to give ear covers for her as well.
Since it gets quite noisy in the flight, our child didn’t enjoy the flight too much but she had fun on the glacier.

Fantastic flight! Everyone from start to finish was great. Beautiful views and amazing flight. Pilot adjusted the flight so it was as smooth as possible while still getting close to the summit, seeing everything, and landing on the glacier. Great experience and great team!

Despite the moderate weather, it was a very successful sightseeing flight with a glacier landing (actually a MUST).
It is very impressive to immerse yourself in this sometimes bizarre world of rock, snow and glaciers.
You are connected to the pilot at all times via headphones, who also provides interesting information about this mountain world.
As the weather conditions were rather bad, Talkeetna Air Taxi offered a price reduction on its own.
This excursion is highly recommended!
