About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- MrNorman0 contributionsFabulous morning snorkelling with Rudolph. We had (2 adults & a 13yo) a fabulous morning exploring the lagoon with our host Rudolph. There were only 5 in the tour (maximum is 7) so it was a very personal and enjoyable morning. Rudolph couldn’t be any more accommodating, ensuring swimmers of all levels got to see eagle and manta rays as well as the beautiful array of fish in the coral gardens and aquarium. He offered snorkelling equipment, towels and cold drinks to all, if needed and was very informative as we made our way around the lagoon on a quality, comfortable boat. At no time did we feel rushed to get out of the water. Rudolph even accompanied us in the water to make sure we didn’t miss anything! Must also mention the outstanding service Aimee provided when booking the tour. This is a quality business with quality people. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend time with them while you’re in Bora BoraWritten 21 December 2024
- mcmarya0 contributionsAmazing Customer ServiceA disclaimer: We were not able to actually go on this tour since it was canceled due to weather. However, I do want to rate the amazing responsiveness of this company, especially Aimee. We booked on the H2O Bora Bora website a few days before our cruise ship arrival. Several times before arrival Aimee kept us posted on what to expect since the weather was iffy. Then, the day of the tour, she let us know by 7 am that the tour had to be canceled due to bad weather. Then, she let us know that she had processed our refund. Responsiveness to customers is such an important part of doing business. I would not hesitate to book with this company on that basis alone. I hope we can return to Bora Bora some day and do the tour.Written 15 December 2024
- regulate580 contributionsGreat customer serviceGreat customer service. We were unable to attend but their service stood apart. Thank you Aimee from H2O - very kind. Will book again next timeWritten 2 December 2024
- 445brianned0 contributionsExcellent tour, top notch tour companyH20 Bora Bora gave us such an incredible experience. They were incredibly communicative, and accommodated my husband and I on a slow week on the island when they didn’t have. Rudolph, our guide, was funny, laid back, and knowledgeable. We saw a few dozen eagle rays, seven manta rays, and the coral garden rivaled any other reefs we’ve seen. I highly recommend this tour and this company and I’m so happy we found them!Written 23 November 2024
- Goinggoinggone1120 contributionsGreat snorkeling in Bora BoraWe had a great experience. Our guide, Winston, was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. We cruised around and stopped at four spots in the lagoon - we saw Eagle Rays, a huge Manta Ray, beautiful fish and a gorgeous coral garden. We had a really good time - would highly recommend.Written 15 November 2024
- karencI3914HC0 contributionsGreat time snorkelingWe had a great time on our snorkeling adventure. Communication with the tour organizer prior to the trip was great, and we were met at Port in Vaitape exactly as arranged. We saw eagle rays, manta rays, and many tropical fish at the coral gardens. It was like swimming in an aquarium! My recommendation is that although they provide equipment, it's probably worth bringing your own, if possible. At first my mask was leaking and water was getting into my mouth with the snorkel, but our guide Wilson had me try several others and finally we found some that fit. However the first two stops, while beautiful, were a bit frustrating with the equipment. Regardless, it was a great day and I definitely recommend.Written 12 November 2024
- 365andreip0 contributionsGreat snorkel with 4 stops around the lagoon. This snorkel tour is amazing, our guide Wilson was knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting things about Bora Bora history and geography. The sights we went to were absolutely stunning, highly recommend. Mauruuru.Written 7 November 2024
- davidbA8854UE0 contributionsDo not miss thisThis was an absolutely incredible experience. We were fortunate to have perfect conditions and our friendly and very knowledgeable captain took us to four different snorkeling spots, giving us the local scoop along the way. We swam with a school of over 100 leopard (?) rays, and six giant manta rays that came right up to us. Finally, a trip through the maze of a coral garden was unlike anything we had ever seen. To top it all off, there were three whales and a pod of dolphins on the way back around the island. I would give this 10 stars if I could. There was only one other family with us, for a total of six people plus the captain. It made for a much more intimate setting than some of the other boats we ran across. Un grand merci et à la prochaine !!Written 31 October 2024
- anna3878XB0 contributionsDiverse marine lives and thoughtful guidesAbsolutely recommend it, if you have half a day, and want to take on a tour to see a diverse set of marine lives and being with friendly and patient guides! Their service stands out as thoughtful and caring. Aimee proactively messaged and replied to my questions to ensure we were aware of the pickup and things to note before the tour. During the tour our guide was super thorough in explaining our agenda (which spots and what kinds of fishes to see) and sharing tips. We stopped at 4 places -- tropical fishes at the iconic location where shells and rocks are formed into "Love Bora Bora", eagle rays, manta rays, and the coral garden. We had 5 guests on the boat; at each location all of us got plenty of time in the water to swim around and explore. The coral garden trip was a wonderful surprise that I had never done it before. Our guide led us to swim through the coral "jungle", which was helpful for navigation while allowing you the mental space to immerse in the awesome and colorful view. I accidentally hit my foot with something out of excitement; when we went back to the boat our guide was so kind to help me disinfect and put on a bandit. Thank you! The eagle rays were another highlight; it was amazing to swim above and along with them to observe how elegant they were.Written 20 October 2024
- Andrea D0 contributionsAbsolutely amazing!!We had an amazing experience with H2O and the half-day snorkelling tour in Bora Bora. We were picked up by boat nearby our BnB, after getting clear info on pick up point and meeting time. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we went for a fantastic tour around the island. Together with the guide, we visited one of the best coral garden we ever seen with tons of colourful corals and fish. Then we went on the manta ray cleaning station. Unfortunately we did not see any manta ray, which is totally fine as you can’t control nature, but we saw a group of beautiful sting rays. Finally we visited the aquarium on the south end of the island, which was amazing. I truly recommend this tour and guarantee you will have a wonderful time. AndreaWritten 24 September 2024
- 457larissaf0 contributionsIt was amazing! We had a wonderful afternoon. We saw many large mantas, including a pregnant one, which is very rare. The coral reef was also amazing. An unforgettable experience. Thanks again! Highly recommended to book.Written 24 September 2024
- 369pamalad0 contributionsHighly recommend!!!Wonderful boating and snorkeling experience. Half a day was the perfect length of time before getting too hungry and cold. The brand new boat with only a small group of 6 was so pleasant and very comfortable! I was picked up right at my hotel so super easy. The guide Matt was extremely nice and laid back. He told us everything in French and English and was knowledgeable about the area and all the coral. Of course the views and sea life were amazing! If you want a small group and a nice boat for half a day this is the perfect tour. My husband got ill at the last minute so couldn’t go with me and I felt very comfortable going solo.Written 19 September 2024
- Z3179RWjimb0 contributionsAbsolutely amazingWhat a fantastic experience. First off, I contacted BoraBoraH20 at sort of the last minute due to an issue with the resorts excursion. They were able to fit me in to a time slot very quickly which was immensely helpful, otherwise no tour. The boat was new and was maintained very well, it was clean and comfortable. We had Mat the captain/guide and one other couple on the boat so it felt very personalized. We visited many sites but without doubt the highlight for us was seeing the Manta rays. WOW!!! We saw 3 of them and up close. I cannot explain how impressive it was to see these huge and beautiful rays. We also visited an excellent coral gardens and saw a lot of varied sea life and fish. Near the end of the tour we went to a spot where there were a LOT of eagle rays. At that site, we saw a group of easily 50+ eagle rays cruising slowly near the bottom. Fantastic. Mat the captain and guide was super friendly and very knowledgeable on many aspects of the animals, coral, etc. We had juice and soft drinks provided as well as towels which was very nice. Overall it was an absolutely fantastic tour - worth every penny. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour and tour company. Thanks to them, we had a day that we will remember forever.Written 17 September 2024
- Discover445225431540 contributionsThe top rated snorkel on Bora Bora for good reasonExcellent, clear communication and priceless memories amongst beautiful creatures. Pickup and drop off straight to your hotel or other accommodation. And a very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating guide. We liked it so much we booked again a few days later! We communicated with Aimee who was very helpful and accommodating of our needs. Our guide Rudolf was also excellent - my wife is a good swimmer but a little cautious of swimming in deep open water - so Rudolf kindly jumped in the water and used a rope and floatation cushion to tow her along and give her a guided tour. This helped us get to a group of 18 eagle rays, 3 Manta Rays and thousands of fish over the 2 trips. Very highly recommended - hope to book again when we return! :)Written 15 September 2024
- sandrakevin0 contributionsSafe and professionalWe snorkeled via H2O while guests on the Windstar Star Breeze cruise. Our guide Rudolph was excellent. He took us to three different spots, each with its own specialty. The boat was in good condition, and we felt safe and comfortable at all times. We would snorkel with H2O if we returned to Bora bora.Written 6 September 2024

The hype is not exaggerated! Bora Bora is truly a beautiful place, with its calm lagoon created by the circular reef around it - filled with sparkling blue waters that are clear as day. We landed on a Motu and took a ferry to the main island with its distinctive peak. The view from the plane - of the different blues - is fantastic.
The next day, our group of 6 from the US set out on an all day private tour with
“H2O Bora Bora Snorkeling tours”
Wilson was our competent captain on a small, nimble boat that was just large enough for us. He took us to 6 different spots for snorkeling, where we saw Manta rays, two sets of Eagle rays, with some close enough to almost touch, and colorful coral gardens with many colorful fish. Where possible, Wilson anchored the boat and got in the water with a ring to help and guide the not so confident snorkelers.
For lunch, we stopped at a Motu and ate a fresh meal at tables set in the water. They did their best to accommodate the vegetarians in the group in a fish dominant culture. We were also treated to a hands on demonstration of custom coloring a pareo.
The weather in early October was also perfect for our snorkeling throughout our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our full day snorkeling tour with the H2O Bora Bora and would definitely recommend it.
P.S. Based on their recommendation, we went on a very interesting hike the next day with our guide Django. He gave us a history of the island, explained how it was used as a resupply base by the Americans during WW2 because its single channel was easily defended, and showed us the cannons and shelters hidden in the forests. He also carried enough coconuts and other fruit for the group of 8 to enjoy at the top.

We are a group of 6 friends who went to French Polynesia on a 2-week vacation. We booked a full day private snorkeling outing with H20 Bora Bora for our group. We had one of the best snorkeling experiences of our lives on that full day tour. We had about half a dozen snorkeling stops over the course of the full day with a good mix of deep water and shallower lagoon waters. We say a manta ray, many stingrays, amazing coral gardens and a vast assortment of colorful reef fish. Our guide Wilson was very good and patient and helped the two hesitant snorkelers in our group. In the coral gardens maze, he even pulled them along on a ring with the rest of us following behind and he pointed out to us difficult to spot fishes like pipefish and stonefish.
The motu lunch was very good and a very fun experience where we got to make our own pareos and cut our own coconuts.
And Aimee who I had been interacting with at H20 Bora Bora over the last few months prior to our trip has great attention to detail, patiently answered all my many questions and accommodated our various dietary requirements
and upon my asking, even recommended a Bora Bora hiking guide which also turned out to be yet another fabulous excursion.
I cannot thank H20 Bora Bora and Aimee and Wilson enough for our incredible snorkeling experience with them.
And I would highly recommend them if you want to go snorkeling in Bora Bora.

My husband and I had an amazing full day of snorkeling with David, and it was truly the highlight of our trip to Bora Bora. Everything about this tour experience was exceptional. Amy made the booking experience so easy, and managed every detail (including making sure my husband would be able to eat lunch despite his gluten allergy). David was an absolute gem of a guide, and took us to spectacular locations. We swam with eagle rays, a manta ray, more fish than I’ve ever seen in my life, and even encountered a sea turtle (which I’m told is very rare in Bora Bora). David was sure to show us all kinds of interesting things as we snorkeled through beautiful coral gardens, and went above and beyond to take us to different locations in order to find a manta ray to observe. The lunch on the private motu was delicious, and getting to make a fool of myself while learning to open a coconut was great fun! Book this tour, you won’t regret it :)

My husband and I had an amazing day of snorkelling with Rudolph in Bora Bora. We saw eagle rays, and so many colourful and beautiful fish in an array of shapes and sizes. The coral garden was spectacular and Rudolph patiently took us to around 10 different spots for snorkelling, lunch and even a magnificent photo stop. He tried to make my special birthday even more special by looking out for whales and turtles (we saw one from a distance)! We didn’t manage to find the manta rays but not for a lack of trying. Rudolph took us to a second spot to look for them when the visibility in the first spot was poor. He came to rescue me from choppy water when we were stuck in a windy spot and even took us to see a shipwreck! He is so knowledgeable about the island of Bora Bora and its flora and fauna and shared many interesting facts to help us learn about French Polynesia. We had an amazing day with Rudolph and highly recommend this tour.

Amazing experience! Hero was a terrific guide, spotting where the eagle rays like to sleep, pointing out different animals that were hiding (eels, sea horses, sand fish, puffer fish, etc), helped us take amazing photos of the manta rays, and taught us about the history of French Polynesia. Loved that it was part of a family-owned business (the lunch sitting on benches in the water with fish swarming around us was amazing and delicious, the grandson is funny and charming). They even have an option to make your own custom pareo as a memorabilia and taught us about how to get delicious coconut milk.
This private tour was a great complement to a group tour we did previously since we could spend more time at the coral gardens and see more sites like the Aquarium.

I don't think you really get to experience Bora Bora until you spend a day in the lagoon, eating lunch on a motu. The water is like nowhere else I've ever been, and the diversify of the sea life is unbelievable. This was a private tour with my family and our guide Hiro. He was awesome, the boat was awesome, and so was H20 Bora Bora. I would do this again in a heartbeat, and I encourage anyone who visits the island to spend a day in and on the lagoon with H20 and Hiro. Māuruuru.

We had an amazing experience with this company. The owner went so far above and beyond even before our boat tour. She gave me advice on local places to visit and helped me to set up some additional activities. she was quick to respond and very professional. As for the boat tour, it was the absolute highlight of our entire trip. Don’t visit Bora Bora with out booking a tour.
