About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- GalileoGalilei20200 contributionsMarsa Alam to AswanI went from Marsa Alam to Aswan. The direct road via Edfu is currently closed for tourists, which is why we had to go the long way via Safaga and Luxor. However, I already knew this before and planned an extra stop at Dendera temple on the way which was really worth the drive. I had a whole Minibus for myself. As the road was long, even two drivers accompanied me. I felt safe all the time and enjoyed the drive.Written 4 December 2024
- hrh_26050 contributionsCairo tripfor me the biggest compliment I can give is that Marsa Alam are very responsive. My day trip to cairo went smooth. I told the guide I didnt want to visit any shop and he was happy to accomodate. Our taxi back from airport didnt arrive on-time but quick msg resolve the situation.Written 4 December 2024

- tomaszk4220 contributionsTrip to Sataya dolphin Reef overall ok, but with some issuesIn November 2024 I went on a "Snorkeling Trip At Sataya dolphin Reef" trip with Marsa Alam Tours. I'm not fully satisfied due to several issues. Starting with the positives: 1) The main goal of this trip was achieved: there were dolphins, a lot of dolphins and we could swim with them. It was an amazing experience and this is the most important. 2) Boat's Captain Mustafa was wonderful. A very positive and friendly man. He has invited my kids to the boat's bridge, let us take photos and even steer the boat for several seconds. Later, when my kids didn't go to snorkel with dolphins, he took them on a motorboat and showed them dolphins. He has made my kids happy and let them gather new experiences. 3) Overall, the boat staff was friendly and helpful, especially that 3/4 of the passangers were sea sick due to rough waters that day ;) 4) After I posted my initial feedback on the internet, the Marsa Alam Tours representative contacted me and clarified root cause of some issues. I appreciate that. Now what I didn't like: 1) I have exprienced communication issues over email. I got response to my first email only, but I didn't get any responses to my 2 following emails. Marsa Alam Tours representative claims, they have never received these emails, hence they didn't respond. Since I have these emails in sent directory on my email server, this could have been some technical issue in that case. Anyway, the bottom line is: call them or use whatsup instead of email. 2) There was some difference between price given in the email offer versus what they have charged on the boat (standard, higher price as on the website). I have complained about this after the trip and Marsa Alam Tours representative treated this seriously and this matter is being clarified between them and boat staff. 3) The trip schedule vs reality is a joke. The pick up time was on time as agreed, but later on the actual trip schedule diverged much from what was planned. For instance, there is information that trip from Port Ghalib to Hamata Marina takes ~2 hours. In reality it took 4 hours, due to multiple pick ups from other hotels on route, including waiting 30 minutes in one hotel for some "sleeping pricess", who probably couldn't wake up on time or whatever other reason. This is ridiculous, ~50 people waiting 30 mins and loosing trip time due to one or 2 persons not able to show up on time. The return hour to Port Ghalib is estimated as 6:30 PM, but eventually we have reached our hotel after 8:00 PM, and this is several kilometers before Port Ghalib, so I can say return time was 2 hours late, which didn't stop the staff from having an additional 5-min smoke break at one hotel after dropping off guests. 4) Probably due to long travel time to Hamata Marina we started late, and some time was taken from us on the main event - snorkeling with dolphins. On the schedule it says snorkelling with dolphins lasts for 1h 30m, whereas the total time in the water was for my group ~45 mins, including 10 mins return swimming to the boat, where there were no more dolphins (motorboat took us on the spot only one way). Overall, we saw dolphins and that's great, but I suggest to improve travel time (maybe send 2 smaller buses instead of 1 in case there are so many hotels to pick up guests at? maybe don't wait if someone is late more than 5 minutes?) and if offer says it's 1.5h snorkeling with dolphins, make it close to 1.5h, not half of that time.Written 28 November 2024

- 558alisonl0 contributionsSiwa and Alexandria tour review - Excellent!My husband and I both felt the tour was excellent! Our driver, Mr. Mohamed, took great care of us and we felt safe in his hands. He made sure to keep the car in good condition for the long drive to Siwa oasis. All the restaurants we ate at were good choices. There was not much communication in the beginning but the trip was seamlessly organized. I would recommend this Marsa Alam to my friends.Written 23 November 2024
- jeffhU9924UT0 contributionsGreat 2 day / 1 night White DesertWe traveled in Egypt for 8 days at the end of October 2024. Part of our trip included a 2 day / 1 night White Desert tour with Marsa Alam Tours. The tour was absolutely great. Our guides were wonderful, the food (and the chef) were great. We got the desert experience we were looking for including sleeping in the desert without a tent. There were two of us and a family of four on our tour in two vehicles, so the group was a great size. We were not rushed at any time. Scheduling the tour was easy from the USA. Thanks for the great Egyptian desert experience. I highly recommend Marsa Alam Tours and will say if you don’t use Marsa Alam Tours you made a mistake. JTHWritten 23 November 2024
- Global470857833970 contributionsAMAZING!!We enjoyed every second of the excursion. Our amazing tourguide Achmed and wonderfull driver Mohamed (Fox) made sure that everything went smoothly and that we were able to see eveything on our list. With great stories and information along with it. From start to finish, our journey from Sharm al Sheikh to Cairo and back went without any problems what so ever. I would encourage everybody who is interested in the same excursion to contact Marsaalamtours for this.Written 20 November 2024

- Bala780 contributionsthe must see in 10 daysWe spent a wonderful 10 days with our family in Egypt. The whole trip was organised by Marsa Alam Tours/Egypt Tour Package company. As we later found out, the two names are the same company. As soon as I wrote to them, Wael Ewada logged in via Whatsapp and we were able to discuss all the important details. Taking into account our individual requests, they finally gave us a financially acceptable offer. I transferred the full amount to an Egyptian bank account and everything was settled. In Cairo, we were met at the airport at the appointed time and from then on we were met at each stop by a driver and a tour guide, and transported to each stop in an immaculate Toyota minibus. The guide for the first 3 days was Adam, who is also an Egyptologist. He was well educated, speaks good English and showed us all the important things to do in Giza, Saqqara and Dahshur. I would definitely recommend the Dahsur bent pyramid to see, as it is much less visited than Giza and we were lucky enough to have the lights go out in the pyramid so we could explore it all by ourselves with just a flashlight! The Pyramids Park Resort Hotel was perfectly acceptable for us, although the pool water is ice cold everywhere in Egypt. Afterwards we flew over to Aswan for a 3-day cruise of the Nile, but first we got up at 4am to see Abu Simbel, a breathtaking experience. The children enjoyed the nile cruise the most, the food and the atmosphere were impeccable and lovely. The wifi on the boat Iberotel Crown Emperor is obviously slow, it was no different here, if there was any internet at all, although we didn't miss it. On the way we stopped in Kom-Ombo and Edfu, both beautiful, just not enough time to see the temples properly as you have to hurry back to the ship for dinner or departure. All the way to Aswan, Abu-Simbel, Kom Ombo, Yousef was the tour guide and I had a very interesting conversation with him about other things besides culture. Tamar was with us all the time in Edfu. There we got off the boat and took a horse carriage to the church, which the children particularly enjoyed. On arrival in Luxor, Karam was the tour guide with whom we visited Karnak and the Valley of the Kings. Karam even arranged for one of his friends to bring us the passports we had forgotten on the boat during the temple visit, so we didn't waste any time, which I appreciated. We were then transferred by bus to the Hotel Sunny Days Palma de Mirette in Hurghada, full of Russian speakers, where we spent another two super days, one of which included a day of boat diving and dolphin swimming. On the last day we flew back from Hurghada to Cairo and spent a fantastic day with Maivel Gamil in the Coptic quarter and the Citadel, and had one of the best lunches together. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to visit the New Egyptian Museum that opened a few days ago, but we don't expect this to be our last visit to Egypt.Written 7 November 2024
- jamesmJ5346AE0 contributionsWorth every pennyThis tour was amazing and very well organised. We booked some of the optional extras, including the balloon ride which we highly recommend. The time on the actual Nile cruise was limited because of all the sight-seeing! But this part of the trip was very relaxing. As a couple, we had our own personal guides, three in total; they were all very knowledgeable and eager to answer our questions. Also our own private transport to each location, which was well organised with bottled water, packed breakfasts/lunches and aircon! Transport was provided from our hotel in Hurghada straight to the boat in Aswan. This was around an eight hour journey!! We would suggest staying nearer initially to avoid this. But having done the drive it actually made the cruise more enjoyable!Written 5 November 2024
- Stay065752056420 contributionsRed Sea and MonasteriesMy sister and I did a day trip to the monasteries on the East. - Saint Paul’s and Saint Anthony.. beautiful ride and Malak was our guide. She was very friendly and informative. Picked up at 530 am and returned around 530 pm. A great trip on the eastern desert before our flight back home. Was able to see the Red Sea as well. We liked Saint Paul better because a monk showed us around and was reaching what life is and was like. He was great.. the monastery was closed but they allowed us to come in for a tour. Saint Anthony was beautiful and we walked up to his cave (a LOT of stairs).. however, we did not get a monk to give us a tour.Written 5 November 2024
- Stay065752056420 contributionsMufasa was great!I would have given this company 5 stars but for one issue. First though the tour itself -- my sister and I went on a private one day tour to the white sand, black sand, oasis and crystal mountain. The drivers were EXCELLENT! We changed drivers from van to driver in a 4x4. Had coifee first at a side shop, which was fun, lunch at a quaint place which was yummy.. our driver to the desert was Mufasa, best tour guide! He took us to the iasis-cool water- not really impressive.. then continued to desert. He was in no hurry and took us all around and fast rides on sand and sand boarding. We did have a flat tire and he controlled vehicle supremely while traveling fast.. black sands we stayed till sunset and he played egyptian flute.dinner was at another restaurant with yummy chicken. Then changed driver back to cairo.. my issue- when we left 4x4, we left our bathing suit bags in the back. I emailed the company stating we had another tour in 5 days and could we get our stuff brought to the next tour.. next tour came and we did not receive our bags or any contact from company.. not a huge deal about most items we left, but dome sort of contact about it would have been nice..Written 5 November 2024
- rakeshj8170 contributionsGreat Half Day Pyramids TourWe booked a half day trip to the Pyramids and the Sphinx through Marsalam. The tour operator came recommended from my parents, who had done a trip with them earlier. Malak was an amazing guide- knew her stuff about the Pyramids and was super friendly. The pick up was done on time, we got through an accelerated entry to the complex and were explained about each spot in detail. Malak also patiently took our photos, for which we are very grateful. Would highly recommend, the prices are reasonable and the responses are super fast- you get instant confirmation on Email and on WhatsApp.Written 1 November 2024

We had a great stay in Egypt last October. We were amazed! 🤩
We stayed 10 days:
- Cairo (managed by ourselves)
- The cruise with Marsa Alam Tours (from Aswan to Luxor up the Nile)
- Hurghada (managed by ourselves)
With the cruise we left Aswan to go up to Luxor aboard the Royal Princess:
Excursions :
Aswan:
* Temple of Philae
* The big dam
*Unfinished obelisk
* Abu Simbel Temples (+85€/pers)
* The desert
*Kom Ompo Temple
Luxor:
* Edfu Temple
* The souk
*Karnak Temple
* Luxor Temple
* The Valley of the Kings
* Temple of Hatshepsut
The strong points :
- discover the beauty of Egypt.
- our guide Hammad who spoke French.
- the knowledge of our guide.
- the comfort of our cabin.
- the swimming pool (unheated), the jacuzzi and the terrace on the cruise.
- the food offered.
- the visits offered.
- the people on board the boat for their service and friendliness.
- the drivers encountered.
The weak spots :
- very very complicated exchange with the agency before our stay!
0 information, 0 response to our WhatsApp messages / emails… which spoiled the start of our stay. because we didn't know where to go? who was coming to pick us up? not even 2 hours before the departure of the cruise! to completely review at this level fortunately our guide Hammad was there for us throughout the 4 days (explanation, translation…) he raised the level ++!
- drinks not included, because the cruise price is still significant!
- the “forcing” of Egyptians in general to jump on us for everything…
To know :
- provide a tip for the drivers / guide / toilets / excursions.
- awakenings are between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. so you can enjoy the heat and the crowds before sunrise. breakfasts will be ready to take away.
- always have water with you (high heat even in October ≈ 40°).
- wear outfits with covered shoulders, loose pants, long dresses, etc.
- there are a lot of car journeys between each excursion, especially to go to Abu Simbel (+5 hours drive one way).
- always negotiate prices when you buy something and compare with the € to avoid being cheated! don’t hesitate to be “firm.”
A lovely country to visit! ☀️
And a big thank you to Hammad for his knowledge!
