An unforgettable experience! My guides, Julian and Magugu, were amazing—extremely informative and made me feel safe in a neighborhood that has a reputation for being less than safe. The tour took us to areas most others wouldn’t, offering a raw and insightful look into the history and transformation of this troubled yet fascinating part of the city. The street food lunch was delicious, and my driver, Tye, was also excellent and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to go beyond the typical tourist spots!

Excellent tour of Maboneng’s neighborhood and art, along with tasting 4 different types of cuisine. Note that the description doesn’t make it clear, but there will be quite a bit of walking during the tour (which I thoroughly enjoyed). The restaurants were not fancy but provided simple, home-cooked meals and I enjoyed the variety. Although I wasn’t a big fan of one of them (I think it was Zimbabwe), the others were tasty and filling - make sure you measure yourself at each meal.

I did my tour with Nkosi - it was great way to see the city and Nkosi was very knowledgeable on many aspects of the city and made it a lot of friend - it was a great way to see central joburg! I learnt a lot and had fun - highly recommend !

Great tour guides they were knowledgeable and personable! The food was top tier! We were not disappointed. I didn’t realize that this tour included a maboneng art tour. That was a great component.

The guide was certainly very knowledgable regarding the history of the area and the graffiti and art. He was also very friendly. However, as a food tasting and beer tasting experience I would avoid. Food tasting was in very low budget restaurants (Caged windows) with and beer was often picked up at a liquor store and then drunk from plastic glasses. For the amount I paid I was extremely disappointed as it certainly was not good value for money and I will never recommend to anyone visiting Johannesburg. Perhaps it was more of an authentic experience, but eating with your hands and often without plates wasn’t something I had in mind when I booked it.

Visiting Soweto and learning about the rich culture and bravery of the Soweto community was such a blessing. Lebo (our guide) and Murundeni (our driver) helped us to feel welcomed and comfortable. We learned so much about the beautiful history of Soweto that will never be forgotten. The bike riding through the city and having lunch was amazing. It Truly was an enriching experience!

My tour guide had so much knowledge about the history of Johannesburg and on almost every street, square, park, etc. he could tell me what the area was like in years past and what caused changes, both good and bad, over the years. Since he is a well-known musical performer in Johannesburg, many people knew him and I got to meet some of the locals who live in the area. I also got to see parts of Johannesburg that were very artsy and creative--where a lot of the younger people in the city live. This gave me a better understanding of the people and culture there. Lunch was traditional South African food and I even got to learn some of their customs when eating a meal there. The driver who picked me up at the hotel to start the tour was great, too. I enjoyed getting to know both the driver and the guide on this tour and learning more about where they live.

We went for the food tour with Eunice and Murendeni and we had a great time! Their mix of humour and knowledge was perfect, and we saw many great places and were told interesting stories. The food was amazing, and we highly reccomend this tour to everyone wanting to try different and unique foods, aswell as exploring a cool part of Jburg! 10/10

Tigh was very knowledgeable and was a good communicator. The walking tour of Johannesburg was eye opening. We walked through some area that we felt a little uncomfortable, however, being with our guide gave us a sense of security. We did learn a lot about the history of Johannesburg

I had an unforgettable experience on this tour! Even though I was the only participant due to a last-minute cancellation, it turned into a private tour, and it couldn't have been better. I was running late, but the company was incredibly accommodating, which I greatly appreciated. My guide, Joe, was exceptional—his deep knowledge of the history and culture of the areas we visited made every moment fascinating. He also shared insights from his life in South Africa, adding a personal touch that I loved. Exploring different neighborhoods, admiring the local art, and learning about the origins of each area was truly enriching. The food stops were fantastic—every meal was delicious, with generous portions that will definitely satisfy your appetite. Just be sure to start the tour on an empty stomach! My only wish was for a dessert stop to complete the experience. Overall, I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to dive deep into the local culture and history. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

Amazing experience, our Guide Malone took us to all the hot spots in Joburg, he was amazing and my brother and I felt safe the entire time. I could not recommend this tour enough if you want to experience night life in Joburg. If you can request Malone, please do amazing guy. Will absolutely do this tour again next time I'm in town
