- karenkM6002FQ0 contributionsNothing was too hardNothing was too hard 5/5 Brendan, the owner, was so easy to email and create an itinerary with. He always answered promptly both prior and during the holiday. He arranged for us to pay half of our costs from Australia, using an effective link and the rest we paid by credit card at the end. This is what we requested so that we could balance our budget. His service, and that of all the different guides we experienced over the 2 weeks, was second to none. A special shout out to Trevor, who was our guide on multiple safaris and regional tours, and he also was our guide for 4 days driving down the Barberton geo-trail, over Piggs Pass and through Eswatini to St Lucia and onto Umphlanga Rock. We loved Swaziland!! From Hazyview, our safari tours included sunrise, a whole day, an afternoon and 2 night safaris at Sabi Sands, and we saw the big 5 up close many times. Every second day Elephant Herd tours took us up onto the green uplands to explore water falls, the escarpments, Caves, animal rehab centres, the dam cruise etc. There was so much diversity of scenery, activities and culture. We occasionally asked Brendan to arrange some short transportation on our off times so we could get to shops or Perry's Bridge or to a different restaurant. He was very reliable!! He also did our transfers from Nelspruit to Hazyview. The whole thing was amazing value for money, and us, 5 international ladies (friends), shared the cost of the safari vehicle to ourselves. It was brilliant, and we would highly recommend.Written 22 November 2024
- Lizbyw0 contributionsSo so happy we booked with Elephant Tours! There are many companies to choose from when it comes to safaris. And it's a little daunting when it's all so new and you have never been on safari. But this company were 5 stars. From the excellent and speedy correspondance with Bev to Trevor our guide for three days who could not have been more kind, more enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He made our trip so so memorable and went out of his way to find all those animal surprises you want to see. We booked a 5 day package which included Zafara Lodge in Hazyview - INCREDIBLE- and included safaris, seeing the panoramic highlights, a night in private game reserve Sabie Park. All the transits from Johannesburg airports and back were seamless. We never had to wait around- everything was on time and so well done and thoughtful. I am still blown away by our experience. We did the see big 5 and many more animals than we expected. Booking with Elephant Herds ensures you are in a smaller, more intimate group- which was one of the reasons we went with them. In fact- we were only 4 of of- two couples- on safari. We loved this. We will book with them any time we return!Written 19 November 2024
- Dreamer5621790 contributionsPrivate Panorama TourWe wanted a private Panorama tour, and the owners of Tanamera Lodge arranged one for us with Elephant Herd. Our guide was Bhekifa Ngomane, who was amazing! He was engaging, knowledgeable, experienced, funny and fun! We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour, and a lot of it was thanks to Bhekifa (“Bheki”).Written 19 November 2024
- marcos2705950 contributionsIncredible Safari with great guides !This safari was incredible fun. We saw the Big5 and many other incredibly beautiful animals. Our guides also explained a lot about the surrounding area. Bekhifa and Trevor are two really lovely and humorous guides who are not only unbelievable strong in recognizing the smallest animals at the furthest distance, but really give everything to make this safari an unforgettable experience (whether you see the Big Five or not). When I come back to South Africa, I will definitely go on safari with Elephant Herd again.Written 9 November 2024

- Stay421707941030 contributionsVery informative guide, amazing locationsThe stops we did were amazing. The tour guide Bhekifa was very attentive to our wishes and explained us a lot about South Africa and the animals from Kuger National Park. After that we went to a nice restaurant where we could try out traditional african cuisine. Everything was very well organised.Written 22 October 2024
- hilker20240 contributionsIncredible☺️My boyfriend and I thought the all-day safari was great. Our guide Luvuyo was super friendly and very helpful. He often asked if we were okay and if we had any questions. We had a good conversation with him. He was able to tell and explain a lot about the animals. He answered all the questions. We could see four of the Big Five. Also the communication with Elephant Herd Tours & Safari was great. They responded very quickly and were extremely helpful. The day was just incredible.Written 7 October 2024
- 486carae0 contributionsAn amazing tour, must book with them!!!!The whole trip was organised to our needs and wants. Brendon and Bev made sure all our questions were answered and checked in throughout the trip. This reassured us as two females travelling to South Africa for the first time they made us feel safe. We were picked up by Bhekifa from Johannesburg, he was an amazing driver and very knowledgeable and had so much love for the animals when talking about them. Our tour guide on the morning Game was Trevor, he managed to find 4/5 animals of the big 5 within the first hour of our drive. He was so passionate and knowledgeable on all the animals and Kruger National park. The Accomodation we were provided exceeded our expectations. Zarafa was our first stop and absolutely breathtaking, so beautiful and the service from the staff and owner was so accomodating to our needs. Overall had the best time on our 5 day safari tour with the Elephant Herd Tours and Safaris and you should definitely book with this company.Written 20 September 2024
- junhsienl0 contributionsFantastic Time with Elephant Herd - Narrowed down from 5 provider, no regrets and would return again! We first found out about Elephant Herd "EH" through Safari Bookings. We have reached out to approximately 5 service providers, and ultimately settled for Elephant Herds for 3 simple reasons: 1) Fast Bias of Action 2) Customer-Oriented/Hospitality 3) Price - Experience Ratio Where it took us about 3-4 days on average to hear back from other providers, EH on average came back in 0.5-1 day, with very concise and informative experience. Not only was Beth super patient, she was practical - and even proposed a couple version of itineraries to our needs. We coordinated with Beth, and found out it's a relatively cozy family-owned dedicated team, where they focus on the quality instead of quantity of service. For example, due to a delay of flight from Europe, we missed Day 1's night safari drive - team EH was proactive enough to suggest on their own accord a replacement in Day 2, allowing us the full experience, we even had the owner Brandon picked us up one of the evenings himself. In terms of Price - Experience ratio, team EH ensures the best - for example, in typical Kruger safari drives - most cars would be loaded to the maximum of 9, whereas in EH, they focus to ensure no more than 6 per jeep. These are the small little things that stands out. We also had a lovely time with one of their guides, Bhekifa, and it felt more like a tour with a long lost friend, that has deep knowledge and great hospitality across. Once again, a big thank you to team EH for the fantastic experience - they may not be the biggest in the industry, but they are certainly big in EXperience and ensuring a great memory in Africa.Written 26 August 2024
- James04970 contributionsSimply IncredibleThe tour we went on was simply exceptional. The whole experience was very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. The accommodation selected was wonderful, spacious and comfortable. The elephant experience in Hazyview is well worth doing and was the perfect start to our safari. We saw all the big 5 plus cheetah and hippos in Kruger on our first full day of the tour plus a load more! The panorama route was a very comfortable journey and our guide was highly informative. Bev and Brendon were so accommodating of our requests and questions in the booking process and were so welcoming and friendly when we got to South Africa. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Having seen the itinerary and pictures, my wife and I had high expectations and even these were massively exceeded.Written 19 August 2024
- Dream207557184410 contributionsExceeded our wildest dreams! Incredible trip of a lifetime ✨Our trip, masterfully arranged by Bev of Elephant Herd Tours, was magical - the absolute trip of a lifetime. Within a relatively short time - 8 days - we got to see so much of South Africa and Eswatini. I travelled to Johannesburg on a work trip and then extended my stay to go on this safari, and I am so glad I did. We had multiple safaris in Kruger, enjoyed incredible vistas on the Panoramic Route, and visited several well-known game reserves such as SabieSands, Kruger, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, and iSimangaliso. We got to enjoy the savannah, the bush, the mountains, the high and low veld, the coast, the estuary, and the Indian Ocean. Completely unforgettable moments, the accommodations were great - especially the Zarafa, which was magnificent in every way - we saw the big five multiple times, had close-up and personal interactions with elephants, and got close to wild lions, spotted cheetahs, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, monkeys etc. My teenage daughter learned so much about animals and nature conservation in the process. Bev was flexible and adapted to our wishes when we had last-minute requests. We felt looked after and cared for the whole way; the guides were stellar, appeared to be having as much fun as we were, and were always ready to answer our many questions and provide in-depth, thoughtful answers. Highly recommend Elephant Herd Tours and all we encountered there, from Bev and Brandon in the office to Trevor and Wesley, Kallie, Sam, and also everyone else at EuroZulu (namely Johan, Sabelo, and Siyabonga) who took us on several game drives and boat trips up the estuary. I would give this trip 10/5 stars if I could as it exceeded all expectations several times over. Amazing!Written 11 August 2024

- Mandy v0 contributionsMagnificent 6 (Big Five + cheeta)We had a wonderful tour! We where even lucky to see the Big Five and a Cheeta. The thing that made our trip unforgettable was our guide Trevor! He had such a motivation to find a the animals and had lots of humor! One final lesson: Everything is possible! But you need to have some luck on you’re side.Written 30 July 2024
