About
The bustling city is busting at it’s seams and we will be immersed in the Culture by having a modern traditional Zulu lunch. The taxi rank has a lot of history since Zulu people have somewhat of a monopoly in the taxi business. The train station across the road is filled with artworks, beadwork and hand made crafts. A truly inspiring adventure

What to expect
  • The Zulu people of Durban have a rich culture. We will be walking down to the taxi rank, a busy local area to have lunch. We will have a modern traditional meal in the heart of the taxi rank. All while conversing on pressing topics. Maize is a staple food in South Africa until today. Many maize dishes can be prepared, but uphuthu is the most commonly prepared. It is a meal that is made from coarsely ground maize. The coarse grind is then used to create a thick porridge with a crumbly texture. Uphuthu is mainly served cold and can be accompanied by spinach or amasi.
