Amazing way to visit outside the City of Buenos Aires. We loved every minute due to our professional guide and his expertise.
Gustavo made the trip super fun and easy to learn about his City.

Well run tour
Feb 2020
Emiliano was our guide and Roberto our driver. Both did a great job in looking after us on this tour. Emiliano took great care to ensure that all the guests understood the sights. A lot of the day is taken up with the trip on the river, and if you are on the right hand side of the boat there is nothing much to see until you get to the delta. I personally would not do this trip again as so much time was just spent on the boat and it took a long time to get to the delta.

Very nice tour
Had a great time on this tour. There were only three of us so it felt like a private tour. I think the guides names was Elisia and the driver’s name was Pablo.

Our first stop was to the Port area (where all the cruise ships dock) called Puerto Madero. On our way we saw the pedestrian bridge called Puente de la Mujer (Women’s Bridge). It was unveiled in 2001 and resembles a sharp fishhook or even a harp (it’s supposed to represent a couple dancing the Tango).

We then boarded our boat to head to what’s called the Tigre and Delta region. The town of Tigre and the surrounding Delta region (it’s the 3rd largest river delta in the world, think Mississippi River delta) is a popular weekend getaway for “Portenos” (residents of Buenos Aires). Locals live along the peaceful canals with boats as their only transportation. There are boat taxis, boat buses, and even a floating boat grocery store that delivers! If they want a delivery, they put a plastic bag out on their dock and the boat stops. We saw tons of people kayaking and canoeing. Our boat just slowly meandered the delta seeing cool houses along the water. One looked like an old VW hippie van that I assume someone was living out of. Hey, it had a dock and a great water view!

The boat dropped us off in the town of Tigre and we walked to the Italian Rowing Club for lunch. It was really a classy place. Actually there are tons of rowing clubs all over the town due its proximity to the water and some are in really nice buildings. We had three empanadas for lunch and they were delicious.

After that, our van driver met us and took us to this quaint little town called San Isidro. It had lots of trees and cobblestone streets as well as some pretty nice looking mansions. In the town square was this gorgeous Gothic Cathedral called Parroquia de la Catedral de San Isidro. It’s beautiful from the outside and the inside with all its stained glass was very pretty.

We then headed back to Buenos Aires. It was really fun and I would highly recommend it!

Great Boat Ride
Feb 2020
I boat ride through the Tigre Delta is one of those things highly recommended for travel to Buenos Aires. I am very pleased that I chose this company. The pick up at the cruise port was efficient and easy. Once aboard the transport everything went very well. The boat ride was terrific as the traveler gets to see the Buenos Aires province countryside and natural beauty. There is also an excellent lunch, followed by a short stop in San Isidro and a bus ride back to the port. One consideration is that it is a boat ride to the delta but a bus ride back. It all went extremely well with door-to-door service. I did miss out on the tour guide on the boat as i wanted to be up deck in the open air. This is a great choice to see the Tigre Delta and have a great Argentine lunch featuring empanadas.

Interesting Tour Worth the Time but Rushed at the End
Jan 2020
During our 7 days in Buenos Aires, we used Signature for a number of transfers and two tours. Their service was excellent; however, my only complaint was that parts of this particular tour were not delivered as described. We were driven to a little outdoor market and told that we had 15 minutes. 15 minutes at an outdoor market? Poor planning. The web description also stated “Along the way, stop in San Isidro for a walking tour of the historic town and a visit to the renowned San Isidro Cathedral.” There was no mention of a walking tour. It did not happen. We went directly to the church.

Other than these issues, the tour was excellent. We were picked up in front of our hotel at the appointed time, delivered to the dock and escorted aboard the boat for our cruise. I believe our tour group was full with 14 participants. Signature does not own the boat. Instead they use a regularly scheduled sailing offered by Sturla, which appears to be a very reputable company with a clean boat that was well maintained and operated. Our group pretty much had the upper deck to ourselves, which was a pleasant place to be in January (Argentina’s summer). Signature’s guide was with us the entire time, answering any and all questions with grace and a smile.

The tour itself provided an aspect of BA that most tourists will not see. From the dock we traveled north past the shipping ports, the northern suburbs, the AEP airport and into the swampy grasslands delta that leads to El Tigre. The similarities between this area and the Louisiana bayous is striking. Homes on stilts were scattered along the banks, often with the residents sitting outside on their decks. After a while we turned west and began to navigate through channels. As we did, the populations of homes and boats picked up until we were constantly surrounded by water traffic of all sorts. We learned that these channels serve as roads for the residents, who use them to go to the store and school and to conduct the same activities as people who live in cities. Water taxis were abundant.

After travelling about 30 km, we arrived at El Tigre, which is a city of its own right, but considered to be part of the greater cosmopolitan BA Area. Once off the boat for a short walk, we were taken to the Rowing Club Argentino for a pleasant light meal of empanadas and a drink, after which we were loaded into a van and taken to the El Tigre Puerto de Frutos market for a 15-minute visit. What you can you possibly get done in a 15-minute visit to an outdoor market where you have never been before?

After the market, we were driven through the village of San Isidro, but not given the walking tour as advertised in the tour description. Instead, we were taken directly to the cathedral, which is indeed an impressive church. After perhaps 20 minutes there, we were loaded into the van and driven back to our hotels, with some scripted commentary from our guide as we passed landmarks along the way.

Would I do this again? Yes. It was a unique experience that complimented our 6 other days of exploration within Buenos Aires itself. However, once we had finished our meal at the rowing club, I had a definite sense that the guide’s primary goal from that point was to get us back to Buenos Aires as quickly as possible. She remained very polite, but commentary was read mostly from a script and we were encouraged to move smartly at our market and cathedral stops.

Excellent day out
Feb 2020
We were lucky to have a very small group of 6. Enrique our guide was excellent, very thorough even down to what side of the ferry to sit for the best views. We had an excellent day. The Tigre Delta is well worth seeing. The trip back into the city by bus again was informative and attractive.
This is a must do tour for visitors to take. Best part - no wasted time. I don’t like tours that give you a lot of “free time”, it usually means unwanted time.

FUN river cruise!
Great day on the rivers exploring! Lunch at the fabulous rowing club in Tigre. Our stop at the handcraft, furniture and fruit stands was fabulous. Our guide was Hernan who was very knowledgeable about the history of everything we encountered even when it was totally out of the arena of our tour. WHEELCHAIR NOTE. Signature Tours was very accommodating. They brought a step to help me on and off the bus so I didn’t miss a thing. There was an electric lift on the dock so that when we disembarked onto the dock I was lifted up to street level.

Muchas Gracias Marillo and Nicholas
A great way to see the surroundings of the city if you have at least 6hrs to spare. Our guide was Marillo and Driver was Nicholas. Group of 10 and pickup was on schedule at 9.15am. A 10 min drive to the boat where we were joined by other tour groups. Best seats with weather permitting was the open deck. Having a good camera was handy as most landmarks, wildlife and water-sports were at a fair distant. Boats, planes, houses, people fishing/water-sporting and wildlife was abundantly due to the fine weather. The boat trip took 2hrs. We had lunch around 12noon. Beer and wine was not included. Use the toilets at the restaurant cause much cleaner and convenient after the long boat ride. Light lunch of either salad or Empanadas meat or vege. Three decent pieces served. Toured the River Plate Stadium, University, Presidential Residence, Cathedral of San Isidro and visit the markets. A pleasant trip made possible by Marillo and her humor and knowledge of Argentina history.

Aime was great. Everything on time and as stated. But not too exciting. Wish we had just explored more of Buenos Aires on our own.

Good day
Feb 2020 • Couples
Enjoyed the ride on the Delta and learning about life there. The city stop was interesting. If this is your only opportunity to try empanadas, you will be very disappointed — very dry with a bit of basic ground beef.

Our guide Aime was friendly and informative. She shared cultural traditions and nuances as well as responding to all of our groups many questions.

The length was about right. We were able to browse shops — cheaper than in Buenos Aires— and take in some of the sites.
