We would recommend this tour to anyone with a short time to spend in Buenos Aires or with an interest in a particular aspect of the history of the city and the country.

Starting with an outline of the European settlement of the city on our way to visiting the memorial park to confront the horrors of the "dirty war" and its consequences which while not a happy experience provides visitors a basis of understanding of the forces which have formed the current Argentina.

Having an english speaking guide, who lives locally and knows his adopted city so well was great.

Recoleta Cemetery (far more interesting than we anticipated - despite a very hot/muggy day) and La Boca were also visited, and at the latter we had delicious lunch as a restaurant recommended by the guide which we would never have found by ourselves, and which was a highlight,

While you can't see everything in one day, descriptions of the various buildings and areas while moving from one location to another was good and the traffic and streetscape themselves are interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer questions and expand on all the things we saw. He was able to provide lots of additional detail at the various sites.

Howard waited patiently for my wife and me at the airport even though there was a very long delay in passport control. He gave us an insider's perspective of the BA history, culture, and cuisine. In addition to all the must-see highlights (walking tours of Recoleta Cemetary and la Boca, monuments/statues), he showed us the memorial park dedicated to Argentina's "The Disappeared", a very moving experience.

When I told Howard I collected Hard Rock T-shirts, he drove us to the store, helped me buy the right shirt, and even took photos of me in front of the store! My wife and I loved walking along la Boca, where Howard seemed to know many of the vendors, as he introduced us to them. Howard showed us a nearby place for lunch, where we had parilladas, an awesome BBQ meat-lovers meal. Howard toured with us the the entire day, dropping us off at our hotel. Thank you for a wonderful day in BA!

As a German speaking guide was not available, we were lucky to have an Englishman, living in Buenos Aires for more than a decade. His knowledge was deep and his sympathy for the country evident. His tour was well organized, so that we hit all the right places and got a very comprehensive first impression of this large and beautiful city. To be highly recommended!

I booked the this excursion to fill the day we got off the cruise ship and checked into our hotel. It was well worth the time, our Tour guide, John was great. He gave us a wonderful tour of his city, the British accent is deceptive, he knows Argentina and in particular Buenos Aires. We visited all of the “must sees” and knew the ones we would return to visit more. A delightful introduction to a beautiful city.

My husband and I booked John for a private tour of Buenos Aries mainly to kill the time between getting off our ship in the morning and our late evening flight. John was there waiting for us when we passed through the port and off we went. We spent an interesting day with John and never once felt like we were just killing time. Besides seeing all the sights, we came away with a good understanding of Argentina's and BA's sometimes sad history. The day was a nice mix of history and sightseeing, with a lovely stop for lunch in Boca. Our only disappointment was that the Rose Garden was closed due to flooding so we had to skip this part of our itinerary. But you can't control the weather so we made do. Thanks, John, for the fun day and all the history!

We booked a city tour for an afternoon. We conversed with John around the itinerary as we wanted to include a visit to La Bombonera - this was all included as well as the highlights suggested by John.
Howard was our guide - he was great - he gave us loads of insider knowledge and answered all our questions. The tour was a nice relaxing pace in a comfortable car. We learnt loads about Buenos Aires and especially enjoyed the "dirty war" memorial park which was very moving. Well worth the money. Thanks

Howard picked us up right on time and off we went. Lovely day of site seeing, history and information. You can’t go wrong picking this tour and asking for Howard. He was very knowledgeable in the areas we went. When we got tired, we stopped for lunch at a local spot. The day flew by.

Our tour guide waited patiently for us to clear Customs - a very long queue. Once we were thru Customs, we were off on a great tour of the City.

The Park of Memories was especially touching - history from the 70’s and 80’s that many would like to forget. That said, it’s very important to remember the ‘disappeared’ and to ensure history is never repeated.

Overall a great overview of the City with a personable and knowledgeable guide.

Howard did a great job of showing us many key sites in B.A. in a short period. We saw so much and learned a lot. A real highlight was seeing the beautiful memorial on the river, a place some other tours don't go to. Thanks Howard!

We were so happy with John as our guide. Extremely knowledgeable and charming. I recommend him most enthusiastically.
We learned about the culture and the history of Argentina. The visit to the Parque de la Memoria taught us about the awful period of the Dirty War. The Memorial is a somber reminder of the truly awful things that continue to happen in our world. It is a memory that I will never forget.
The cemetery visit was fascinating. We learned so much about Evita and the Peronists. Certainly the most over the top mausoleums imaginable.
John's ability to explain the local politics and history is superb. A five star experience.
