- karenhJ2858IK0 contributionsReally good for intensive one on one spanish lessons.I chose Vamos Academy mainly because of its location. I was staying in the San Telmo area, and the school was just a five-minute walk away. One thing I learned during my search is to be cautious—many other schools don’t list their prices online, and there’s a huge price difference between them. After doing some research, I found that other schools were charging up to $50 USD per hour, which I still can't understand. At Vamos, I paid just $15 per hour, received a diploma, had a fantastic teacher, and enjoyed all the extra activities the school offered. Buenos Aires can be strange like that—you might find a bottle of wine for one price in a supermarket, and then find the exact same wine for significantly less just 10 blocks away. If you don’t mind overpaying, that’s fine, but if you’re like me, do your homework and compare prices. My experience at Vamos was excellent. They allowed me to pay with my Amex without any extra service fees, provided all the course materials for free, and even sent a detailed certificate to my employer, who reimbursed me for the classes. I did see some negative comments about the school, but at least in my experience, they’re unfounded. The school itself is great—comfortable classrooms, amazing teachers, and every time I needed something or requested a change, they were very accommodating. If you decide to sign up, definitely ask for Eugenia—she’s the best!Written 29 November 2024

Lucía is an amazing teacher and she demonstrates a lot of knowledge and patience. She takes as much time as needed to make sure the material is understood. I enjoy my classes and would definitely recommend Vamos Academy.Written 28 August 2024

The teaching methods are effective, and the small class sizes allow for personalized attention. The instructors use a communicative approach, making the learning process enjoyable. The cultural insights shared in class added a valuable dimension to my language learning journey. I can confidently say it's a top-notch academy for learning Spanish.Written 28 February 2024

- jenniferdY6829MD0 contributionsmy experience Taking university Spanish course in Buenos AiresLeaving the familiar behind in West Virginia for the vibrant streets of Buenos Aires, I embarked on a semester abroad that promised more than just academic growth. At the heart of this leap was Vamos Academy, a beacon that not only lit the path to my educational pursuits but also navigated the intricate maze of securing an Argentine study visa. The thought of dealing with embassy paperwork and visa requirements was daunting, to say the least. Yet, Vamos Academy stood out not just for their accredited Spanish courses but for their remarkable support system. They transformed what I anticipated to be a tangled bureaucratic process into a smooth journey, guiding me every step of the way. Their expertise and coordination with the embassy meant that I could focus on the excitement of the adventure ahead, rather than getting bogged down by paperwork and procedures. This support was more than administrative; it was the first chapter in a story of discovery and connection. With Vamos Academy, Buenos Aires wasn't just a place to study; it became a canvas on which I painted days of learning, exploration, and personal growth. From the cozy beginnings in a local family's home to the independence of downtown apartment living, every step was a dance to the rhythm of Argentine culture, made possible by the foundation Vamos laid out from the very start. If you're dreaming of diving into the depths of language and culture, with a partner that ensures a seamless transition into your adventure, Vamos Academy is your gateway. Here, the journey begins not with the hassle of visas and paperwork but with the promise of discovery and learning, in the heart of one of the world's most enchanting cities. The teacher, Vicky, was amazing, knowledgeable, and patient. The course materials were also informative, clear, and useful. Signing up was also easy. Sung, the online coordinator, responded quickly and was very helpful. I enjoyed the classes a lot, and I will sign up for B1S1 soon. Highly Recommended.Written 29 September 2023

- Jayhofsy0 contributionsA great experience for my kids!My family spent June and July in Buenos Aires, we and we enrolled our four elementary-aged children in private classes for nearly the entire time. Before we even got to Argentina, Analía (the academic director) took the time to have a video chat with each of my four kids to assess their Spanish experience. That put my mind at ease because my kids have ample exposure to Spanish already and I did not want them to be treated like students who had no previous knowledge. My kids' teachers, Cecilia and David, were amazing. My kids became so attached to them and looked forward to attending class and spending time with them. When we first started, the kids were shy and a bit resistant in using their Spanish. Over time, I noticed that they started using it more and more without my insisting, and eventually they just defaulted to using it and actually asked to be the ones to deliver messages or ask questions to people when out in public. That was our goal--we wanted the kids to grow more confident in their conversational skills, and that is exactly what happened! Thank you!Written 17 July 2023

- permanentt20230 contributionsI would not recommend this schoolDo NOT invest your hard-earned money for a tefl certification course at Vamos Spanish Academy. They are not accredited. They do not even want to help you with reference letters because they are too lazy to write one and couldn’t be bothered once they have your money. They are not particularly honest about how they will help you in obtaining a teaching job in Argentina.Believe me, tefl here is not all it is cracked up to be. Worse part, after you have invested your hard-earned money, Vamos Spanish Academy is not an accredited institution in Argentina or even worse, abroad.Written 13 May 2023
- hlc2510 contributionsGreat Place for Spanish Lessons!I've taken about 9 hrs of lessons with Vamos with several instructors. Everyone has been great - super helpful & the work has definitely improved my Spanish. The staff also communicates promptly & offers a lot of flexibility. This is a great value service and I highly recommend it for folks, even if you are not in Argentina! So glad I found Vamos :)Written 9 May 2023

I couldn't have asked for more. I originally wanted to take 4-5 weeks of classes but ended up staying for 7! During my time at Vamos Spanish, I had 2 different teachers & each of them was terrific. Each of them was very knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and helpful. Special thanks to Jessica.
I had studied Spanish prior to my trip and opted for the private classes which were reasonably priced and tailored exactly to my needs. As an example, during class if it became clear that I was having difficulty with a specific topic, they would literally step out of class for a minute and return with materials to review and drill the specific topic. My goal was to improve my conversational skills and we spent the majority of classes speaking.
The class materials were professional, helpful and fun.
The office staff was also REALLY helpful and friendly. They not only helped me with issues pertaining to the school, but also helped with suggestions and assistance for activities in Bs As (not just the usual touristy things) and recommendations for travel outside of the city. They also had a daily calendar of extracurricular activities which included everything from practical informational sessions for navigating the city (how to understand the VERY complicated bus system to common tourist scams) to wine tastings, bike tours, etc...
First was staying in Downtown Buenos Aires and after I moved to Recoleta (awesome neighborhood) so the location couldn't have been better, but it's also 2 blocks from the D line Tribunales Subte station so it's very accessible from many parts of the city. (and easy to jump on the Subte after class to get to other neighborhoods for site seeing)
I would highly recommend Vamos Spanish to anyone considering Spanish lessons in Buenos Aires

Excellent program that provides basics for travel, as well as foundational learning. Intimate number of students in the classroom, allows for nearly one on one attentions. The team is thoughtful in planning outings and opportunities to not only experience language in Buenos Aires, but also get a sense of the highlights of the communities. Conveniently located and the schedule is accommodating for engaging with the sights of the city. Found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Like any curriculum, you will get out what you put in. Level one will certainly allow you to make polite introductions and speak about yourself, as well as navigate numbers and currency. Level two digs deeper and you will complete with a plethora of verbs and have the ability to form useful sentences. All curriculums were thoughtfully produced to challenge you but also not to overwhelm. Good balance of intensives and basic vocabulary. Felt I could order in restaurants, use transportation, meet others...with additional work and practice, you can initiate conversations.

I wish I would have come to Vamos Academy my very first week in Buenos Aires instead of the last week of my trip. The Spanish Classes run from 9:30 to 1:30PM Monday to Friday and in a very convininet location right off Callao subway stop.
The teachers we very patient with me & my terrible Spanish that I felt free to just go ahead and try to speak the language in class... even with errors and everything 😉. They correct you but don't make you feel dumb, and that was awesome! By the end of the week I was so much more confident in my speaking and was speaking to people everywhere in Buenos Aires, from groceries to restaurants.
I had taken about 3 years of Spanish classes before but mainly memorized nouns and verb tenses for a test versus having a conversation. VAMOS helped me take that knowledge, build on it, and use it to learn how to speak Spanish.
If you are a beginner, don't worry, they walk you through everything and really try to make you feel comfortable. You WILL do a lot of speaking, which is difficult but really the best way to learn.
I'd reccomend this school to anyone in Buenos Aires, even if you only have a few weeks- you will learn so much.

The one week introduction course was great as a complete Spanish beginner! We followed an exercise book, but the teacher was also very flexible and included games and conversation topics whenever there was extra time. Because the classes are small (Max 5 students), the lessons felt personal and the teacher was always open to any questions. The free extra workshops after class were a fun way to practice conversational Spanish!! We enjoyed the mate class and gestures workshops. Also, a very positive and organised team - Derek was responsive and helpful when booking classes and asking questions!!

I chose to take a week of Spanish classes because, travelling in South America, I realised that I wanted to better connect with Spanish speakers. The week’s introduction to the language shored up the basics I had tried to teach myself, but Vamos really excelled in offering chances to test out this Spanish in extra sessions on Mate and typical Argentinian gestures. Hearing teachers speak about their country in their own language was fantastic. Vamos is also extremely welcoming as soon as you arrive - the environment is perfect for meeting new people.

Hola!
After Carnaval I joined the Vamos acadamy to learn the basics op Spanish in two weeks. During my visit in Buenos Aires I stayed in the student residence on a premium location in Buenos Aires. I can only say: it was perfect 😎.
I was the first person to stay in the new student residence. The appartment is located on the 'broadway' of Buenos Aires. Entertainment, restaurants and bars on your front and a beautiful park around the corner. The school is only 5 minutes away, so no rush in the morning. The appartment has everything you need and you will be in the company of Derek, member of the staff of Vamos. Besides a good conversation partner he is always willing to help you get the best out of your trip in Buenos Aires. Derek, you're a cool guy. Keep it up!
I also enjoyed the Spanish lessons at Vamos. They teachers are not just presenting information but they tell the story behind the languague and the logic that comes with it. And besides that they are also nice and funny people!
I'm really glad I took the Spanish lessons and joinend Vamos Acadamy. Good luck in the future and keep up the good vibe 😎😁!

Vamos Spanish Academy is a brilliant place to learn Spanish. As complete beginners to the language, we have really valued the structured studying that we have experienced over 2 weeks.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our teacher, Santiago, is fantastic and very patient!
'Vamos' goes the extra step to create a friendly atmosphere by running great cultural workshops.
I will miss the place a lot and only wish I could stay longer!

I knew as a rank beginner that I was not going to learn Spanish in a week. But, the week of intensive 20 hours gave me a good degree of confidence to go into shops, restaurant, museums, etc while visiting BA. The staff was very helpful & friendly. I found Vomos on line and it was just as I had pictured. My home stay was fun, too. Highly recommended!

This is my 3rd time at Vamos Academy. I came to Buenos Aires 3 times a year mostly for work and every time I try to take some Spanish classes and to keep learning and improving. My first year in Buenos Aires I took classes at a much smaller school, it was basically the teachers. That was ok but there was no social and I really wanted to meet people and discover the city with others. This is something I really like about Vamos. There are always people from all around the world, meeting new people is not a problem. I guess my only advice is to avoid enroling last minute. I did it once and I ended having to take individual because the group classes were full.

I had a really good time studying at Vamos. Without knowing a single word in the beginning I am now, after 4 weeks, seeing a lot of progress. Teachers and the whole Vamos Team are super friendly, helpful and very professional. As the school provides small classes (we were between 3-5) the teachers can, to a certain extend, adjust the classes to the needs of the students. In general I can only recommend Vamos Spanish to all people who want to learn the language as quickly as possible.
