About
Registered fro PreViaje. Group size no more than eight people with breakfast and lunch with wine included. Unlike most other Mendoza agencies we actually enter Aconcagua Park and hike for one hour. An extravagant barbecue lunch with limitless wine is also included. Travel the old Trans-Andean railway via minibus on this 8-hour small-group tour. With your guide, pass the snow-capped Cordón del Plata and stop by the turquoise Potrerillos lake on your way to the mountain town of Uspallata. After passing through Penitentes Ski Resort you’ll reach Aconcagua National Park. On your return back you will have the opportunity to stop and see Puente Del Inca, a naturally formed bridge over a steep ravine. Once in Uspallata you’ll enjoy an afternoon lunch of Argentine asado (barbecue) before concluding your tour at approximately at 5:30pm.

My wife and I did two tours with Trout & Wine during our stay in Mendoza - the Luján de Cuyo Wine Tour and the Aconcagua day trip.

Both were super easy to organize with the owner Charlie over WhatsApp - quick replies, lots of details on itineraries and availability and he was able to book us for the next day on one of them.

We loved the Lujan de Cuyo wine tour - we visited four great wineries (Caelum, Decero, Terrazas and Kaiken) with generous tastings at all of them and a great lunch at Terrazas. We chose Trout and Wine because they are one of the few if not only operators to visit four wineries and not any olive oil factories (which we were less keen to visit).

The visit to Aconcagua was great! Several stops along the way to enjoy different view of the Potrerillos lake, for coffee and pastries in Uspallata, Puente del Inca and a short easy walk. On the way back, we stopped for a nice asado lunch (included in the price) with great wines. Sadly the weather didn’t let us see Aconcagua but it was a great day despite that! Special shout out to our guide Andrea who was super knowledgeable about the area, the history and Mendoza more broadly and keen to share her knowledge.

A great tour company whenever you come to Mendoza!

Such a quality tour! Andrea took us out of Mendoza and up to Aconcagua with fun stops along the way to see a reservoir, have a snack and coffee, and other great views.

We walked around the base of Aconcagua for about an hour. The difficulty level was very easy. We had incredible views. It was the perfect thing to do that day because it was almost 100 degrees in Mendoza, but only about 70 degrees there (was expected to be colder too).

After the walk, we stopped at the Puente de Inca and then had a wonderful asado lunch.

I highly recommend this tour!

Hi Sonja - the Aconcagua tour is amazing when done correctly - small groups mean a more relaxed pace, multiple stops and more time in the park. Many tour companies do not even enter the park. We do and the ticket price is included. Thank you so much for your kind remarks.

My guide Flor created a wonderful experience for me. I was the only English speaker on the tour and she seamlessly preformed the tour bilingually. The tour took us to some amazing photo stops along the way to Aconcagua. Flor explained all the different regions of the Andes we passed through, she was exceptionally knowledgeable. Ending off with a fantastic traditional Argentinian BBQ lunch where we got to try many different styles of BBQ meat and sides. An excellent way to spend the day!

Hi Madison, thank you so much for your kind remarks. We try and do all our tours in one language but this day was a little complicated. I'm glad our guide handled it well and you enjoyed the day. Happy traveling!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide, Andrea was very knowledgeable about each area along the way. It’s really a very complete excursion. You get to see so many areas along the way to Aconcagua and Andrea knows so much about her province that you are never wondering what you’re looking. We really enjoyed this trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see the Potrerillos, Uspallata, and Aconcagua areas without the long drive and knowing where and how to go about it. Plus lunch is included with some wine. What more could you ask for?

Thank you so much. There are many Andes tours in Mendoza but they are of poor quality - big groups, long day, no lunch included. Many don't even enter Aconcagua park which is a shame as it is the highlight of the day. Thank you for choosing to tour with us! See you next time.

We booked a small group tour with Trout and Wine for our family of 4 (my husband, myself, our son and daughter-in-law), but were pleasantly surprised to find that we had a ‘private’ tour since no one else had booked for that day. Our driver, Nico, and our guide, Flor, were right on time and we had a spacious van all to ourselves.
The day was fantastic, with beautiful weather and various stops spaced throughout—seeing Potrerillos reservoir, coffee and breakfast, Puente del Inca— and a short but very scenic walk at Aconcagua Natl Park. Flor was extremely knowledgeable about the area, history, and geography, as well as being friendly and engaging. We felt safe and comfortable with Nico’s driving.
Our last stop for the asado at a very popular local restaurant was really terrific. To be adventurous, we ordered the parilla (which was the star of the menu), chicken, potatoes, and salad. Flor had brought several bottles of wine for us. The ride back to Mendoza was pretty quiet as we were all so tired and full from lunch! In fact, we even skipped dinner that night :)
We all agreed that it had been a fantastic day. Thank you Flor and Nico.

Thank you so much for the great review. We make a special effort to do the best possible Andes tour possible as it is a long day otherwise. Small groups mean less delays and a sumptuous lunch with great wines also helps!

We have just returned from an amazing visit along Ruta 7 with Florencia our lovely guide and Osvaldo, a very careful driver. As there were only 2 of us Trout and Wine laid on a car for us rather than a minibus so it was basically a private tour for 2. We had a short stop for coffee, media lunas and alfajores in Uspallata then onwards to the Puente de Incas and our short walk along the sendero to the viewing point for Aconcagua. Florencio was thoughtful, informative and entertaining throughout the trip. We had a great lunch in a parilla, 3 courses with a bottle of Malbec to round off the day and got back to Mendoza just after 6 pm ( we started at 8.15)
I can thoroughly recommend this company and this trip in particular.

Our driver Nico and guide Leandro made sure we were well taken care of. I am recovering from a broken ankle and had to be very careful. They were so considerate. Leandro provided fascinating information. His English was superb. The lunch was excellent. Leandro even remembered to bring wine. It was a glorious day.

I can't say enough good things about my day trip to Aconcagua Park and working with Trout & Wines Tours. Ricardo, my tour guide, is incredibly knowledgeable and an all-around great guy and Charlie made booking the tour seem effortless. It couldn't have been any easier. Two giant thumbs up for the experience!
